One of Paycycle’s strongest features is its flexibility, both in configuration and administration. We can tailor the platform to our company’s unique processes while giving different user groups the appropriate access to complete the various steps of a complex compensation review. The primary limitation for us is the inability to fully approve and release compensation outcomes for one group at a time. We operate by Executive Leader, and completion timing varies across those groups. As a result, employees in groups that finish early must wait for the final group to complete its process, creating an uneven employee experience. I like that Payscale Paycycle takes the weight off me and the compensation team by avoiding manual data entry and version-control issues. It’s a good tool for data collection, and it lets us show lots of different data points. I like that we can request custom configurations, including formulas and calculations for our different equity vehicles, and that the recommendation history shows who made changes and when. That’s a big advantage over Excel because I can see the exact changes and follow up with the manager if there’s a question. I also like being able to generate letters in the tool and use two different cycles to separate our populations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I’d like more UI features, such as shaded columns, highlighted words, and bold text, to make information stand out more. I’d also like more flexibility with formulas, since I can’t write complex conditional formulas, like an if-then that looks something up. It took us two to three years to feel really comfortable and confident with Payscale Paycycle. There was a lot to learn, and it took a while to get everything the way we wanted it.
