**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

The platform is relatively easy to learn for board members and self-managed associations. Owners also find the portal simple to navigate for payments and account access. Day-to-day tasks like posting announcements, managing owner information, and collecting assessments are straightforward.
The interface is clean and modern compared to older HOA software systems. Navigation is intuitive overall, although some accounting workflows could be organized more clearly, especially around chart of accounts setup, equity accounts, and reserve reporting.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

While the platform works well for most daily operations, there are occasional limitations and reporting inconsistencies when handling more complex accounting adjustments. Certain transactions, such as reserve expenses, transfers between accounts, and historical corrections, can sometimes appear in ways that distort financial reports if not carefully configured. 
Timing of process checks. Too lengthy. Can take up to 12 days.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small HOA community that was paying high fees for property management but was still required to do a lot of the work. PayHOA helped to reduce our costs substantially allowing us to get other services for our community.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

PayHOA met the needs of our 73-home HOA at an affordable price when we needed a new billing system within six weeks. We were able to import most of the homeowner and fiscal data from the previous fiscal year and have automatic billing ready in just a few weeks. Some manual entry was still required, but it only took a few hours total to complete 12 months of data. Security permissions are also robust.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

The website builder isn’t able to publish links to documents that we want to make available to the general public without requiring a secure login.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA allowed us to avoid the cost and time of using QuickBooks Online and Network Solutions web hosting by providing a single solution that replaced both. It also added capabilities we didn’t have before, including mass communication, online payments, and architectural review management.

On the website builder feedback, you're right. Requiring a secure login for document access was an intentional choice in the initial build of that feature. That said, public-facing document links are already on our product team's radar with logged feature requests, and feedback from a webmaster on this one helps make the case.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

I love how PayHOA automates payment collection, invoice creation, and outreach, which saves me from constantly having to collect checks, follow up with people, or go to the bank. It's simple to use and set up, and the support has been super helpful—quick to respond and willing to spend time with me. I appreciate that the product continues to improve. The features I use the most, like invoice creation, payment tracking, dues tracking, and bookkeeping, make things much easier than handling everything manually. It was great to integrate with Plaid, especially since my small regional bank was supported, which was really important to me.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

Nothing

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA automates the payments collection, invoicing, and follow-up for my 14-person HOA, so I don't have to manually collect checks or visit the bank. It organizes all information well, making invoice creation, outreach, and payment tracking much easier and efficient.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

Integration of many different features, from payment system to service requests and many more.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

Wish it also had payroll since we have a small number of part-time employees. Also, wish it had a toggle function for admin users who also own units. That way they can switch between admin view and regular user view. Some of our board members are not the most tech people and while they need access to admin rights it would be best they could switch that off so they don't do something wrong.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA has been a game changer when it comes to bringing our self-managed hoa community into the 21st century. It's a way to keep all documents and records in one place and will ensure continuity of information as board members join or leave. The payment system is easy to use for both the admin and user side. Communicating with owners has become a lot easier also.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

I love the super clean user interface of PayHOA. The customer support is responsive, which I find really valuable, especially since they quickly addressed a bug on mobile. It's been easy to pay bills and review outstanding balances on units, which streamlines our management tasks. PayHOA is very cost-effective. We were able to replace our QBO and Bill.com subscriptions with PayHOA for less than the cost of each tool individually, while gaining all the property management features we needed. The initial setup was also easy. Overall, PayHOA has organized our association's overall management cost-effectively, with all the necessary transparencies owed to fellow unit owners.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

No mobile app. Accessing the platform through a browser on the phone is not ideal. Make a mobile app.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA cost-effectively organizes property management with necessary transparency for owners. It replaces multiple subscriptions, saving costs and offering the features we need like billing and maintenance fee management, website hosting, and more.

We are using this product to manage Condominium for only a few months, but we have really enjoyed the product.

Its great you can do all of the payables to your vendors
Accept payments from your home owners

Plus it does all the accounting from your bank accounts.

The tracking of money in specific accounts is a little odd but we have worked around it.

Having a company that sucks at managing our association.

I appreciate how easy it is to use and how affordable PayHOA is. It is so easy to send communication via email or snail mail to our residents; it's seamless. The initial setup was very easy, as we just had to input info and PayHOA practically took care of the rest.

There is nothing I have found to dislike PayHOA.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

I switched from using excel sheets to track fees and expenses and google groups to track membership information to PayHOA, the ease of use on the feature are my favorite, I especially like the broadcast features, it allows admin to send group emails to all the members without copy pasting the emails again. PayHOA also has a virtual bot, where you can ask for customer support and search on how to use the product.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

As far as I can tell if PayHOA can integrate more AI features that would be great.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mentioned I switched from using excel sheets to track fees and expenses and google groups to track membership information to PayHOA, and it is very good for small communities like us to adopt it, since it has all out needs like group emails, expense tracking, documents storage etc. It saved our HOA board tons of time spent on managing HOA.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

PayHOA is the management solution that we have been looking for. The user interface is very intuitive. PayHOA customer support is very responsive by way of phone and email. They also provide a great AI help chat. The communication piece provides instant push messages by way of phone, text and email. Our data is accessed by way of a secure web site. We also use the PayHOA Weebly website builder.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

There is no payroll module with PayHOA. Payroll would make PayHOA truly one-stop-shopping. We decided to go with ADP for payroll.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA has enabled us to communicate with our members via individual owner portals, and email, text, and phone messaging. Invoicing, payables, and banking can all be done through PayHOA. We also built a website through a PayHOA Weebly site. Our board of directors and members have been very happy with PayHOA so far. We enrolled late in the summer of 2025, and the transition has taken several months. PayHOA support has been there with us every step of the way to help us in our transition.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

I really like having everything under one software tool with PayHOA. It's great that we can keep data archives of what's happened over the years in our neighborhood. I also appreciate the ability to send surveys to all the homeowners, manage message boards, and send out dues or special assessments, collecting them through PayHOA's financial functions. Essentially, it's just one place where we can tell homeowners to find what they need.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

I do think that a challenge is each community that gets onboarded into PayHOA has different needs. The toughest part was actually the implementation of the tool and loading the documents, creating the forms, and having a way for our neighborhood committees to be able to share information as well as also be able to ask the population for additional help.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA helps us archive HOA documents, track expenses, and communicate with homeowners. It solves the problem of lacking tools and staff, allowing us to run the HOA professionally. It's invaluable for sending updates, collecting dues, and consolidating everything into one place.

The price is definitely the best part about this, but even so that price doesn't matter unless the software is of good quality. There are little things that they do need to refine and fix up, but none of it is critical. All of the critical things are functioning, efficient, and effective. We love that we can quickly send out emails that there is a portal for homeowners to use to check in on things, and that they're adding features that make the process even more efficient, effective and help build communities.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

Some of the formatting changes that happen when you save stuff in their current message board can get a little wonky. We know they're likely working on this, though. There truly isn't any huge downsides.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They recently just added a voting application to the portal. We are very excited to use that during our next election. Having the portal really solves a problem of having to manage and hunt down and mail out ballots as well as invoices to all of our homeowners.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

I like the high level of automation in the PayHOA software.   Previously we had a management company and I felt like I was doing their job and but they were being paid for my work.  With PayHOA, I feel like the software does everything I expect of it and my time commitment has been reduced by over 90%.   Not to mention our costs have been reduced by 90% by eliminating our management company.   The software is intuitive, easy to use, easy to implement and onboard our HOA and easy integration with our bank accounts.   I use it daily just to look at the dashboard but I like the automated emails that alert me to when something requires my attention.   Also excellent customer service and support.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

There is nothing bad I can say about PayHOA other than I wish someone would have told me about the product 10 years ago.   What a time and money saver.

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PayHOA has eliminated the constant mistakes made by prior the management company.   I don't have to double check everything and can trust that the software works as described.   PayHOA has a high level of automation that works and I no longer have to send manual reminders for people to pay their assessments on time.   I no longer have to tell the management company that they used our money to pay for another associations expenses and then fight to get it back.  With PayHOA, there are no mistakes.  It just works and saves me time and money.

I really find PayHOA to be a simple yet robust management software platform, which is a huge plus for me. To me, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and PayHOA has mastered that. I think the payment transaction history function is superb, and it makes performing bank reconciliation super easy. Also, the initial setup was super easy, adding to the overall ease of use.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

I wish it had an app and I would love to see a function allowing my owners to carry a prepaid balance via paying on the online portal

PayHOA solves virtually all my property management problems, providing a simple yet robust platform. It simplifies bank reconciliations and excels in payment transaction history.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

We’ve used PayHOA to manage our self-run HOA since 2019, and its value has only grown. The platform is powerful, intuitive, and reasonably priced, with subscription costs increasing minimally while new features regularly improve the value proposition. Their support and leadership teams are proactive, responsive, and consistently seek user feedback. Homeowner support is easy thanks to clear guides. It was easy to implement, integrates with multiple platforms. PayHOA is a weekly resource for me as HOA President. Our overall experience has been excellent. PayHOA provides great value, responsive support, and ongoing improvements that make managing a self-run HOA efficient and stress-free. It has allowed our board and homeowners to stay organized, connected, and supported without the high cost of outside management.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

The only drawback we’ve noticed is that uploaded logos appear low-resolution in generated reports. We would also like to see more homeowner control over text and email alert subscriptions, ideally with topic-based preferences (e.g., newsletters, events, safety updates).

**What problems is PayHOA solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our board is using PayHOA to budget, balance transactions, invoice homeowners, communicate with homeowners via mail, email, text, and automated voice messaging, manage architectural and general requests, and store documents. We recently took advantage of the integration with Homewise to manage title company requests.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

I like PayHOA because of its highly effective and easy-to-use invoices feature, which simplifies the billing process and enables homeowners to pay seamlessly. Additionally, despite initial navigation challenges, I found the customer service to be excellent, very responsive, and knowledgeable, which made the setup process much more manageable. The combination of these aspects significantly enhances my ability to manage HOA property and accounting tasks efficiently.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

I find it challenging to get HOA property owners to create their accounts on PayHOA. Many of them are not very tech-savvy, which makes the onboarding process difficult.

1. File & Document Management: The document storage tool lets you centralize all homeowner records, violation notices, ballots, meeting minutes.

2. Communications: You get mass communication via emails that supports media and HOA branding.It’s all tracked with logs and scheduling capabilities included. I appreciate having "seen" status available for tracking 

3. Payments & Accounting – Invoice for dues, fees and fines. Easiest experience so far

Importantly, their pricing is notably lower than what we’d been paying a management company, and still offers more control and transparency compared to those legacy systems  ￼.

On top of that, customer support is excellent!

No iOS app at the moment but I don't think that you might want to have another app in your phone. Using web and having email communications is enough for HOA

PayHOA is very easy for us (board) to use and for the homeowners to use!  Best of all, we were able to avoid raising HOA fees by leaving our property management company and move to self-management with PayHOA.  It quickly generates reports, makes collecting funds easy, and is simple to communicate with homeowners using email, mail, or phone.

We haven't come across and downsides to PayHOA yet.  The homeowners have given us positive feedback about it.

I like the ease that the software gives me to manage the association's business with invoicing, tracking, and homeowner information. If I reach a stumbling block the instant AI works well, and beyond that the staff at PayHOA always meet with me by the next day if not the same day. I use PayHOA as the primary source to keep banking information also. The software is easy to use and I am not technical at all. Natalie Jordan and the staff at PayHOA are always helpful and have helped me immensely figure out issues. The price is reasonable and cost effective for our needs.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

PayHOA is specifically designed for Homeowner Associations (HOA). It has the capability to process Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Invoices. It maintains a "Balance Sheet" and "Budget vs. Actuals Income Statement" within its base product, in addition to a number of other reports. It has a bank interface which allows for correlation between PayHOA system balances and posted transactions at your bank. It's relatively simple to use from an accounting perspective, though it does have a few quirks relative to processing. However, once you understand these quirks, it's easy to compensate & adjust during processing. Monthly subscription costs are very reasonable, especially when compared with QuickBooks. In addition, PayHOA has an HOA Member portal which allows the HOA Member to review a variety of documents specific and functions associated with their account with security to ensure only they can see such documents or functions.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

PayHOA has a third-party bank interface which doesn't always work in a timely manner. Often times posted bank transactions in the interface take 2 or 3  days to catch up with actual posted transactions at the bank. This makes balancing the bank and the PayHOA system somewhat frustrating when attempting to review PayHOA's "Transactions" page. That said, the third-party interface does eventually catch-up within 3-days. I've had to work with PayHOA Support on several issues and for the most part they respond relatively quickly. I'm currently working with PayHOA Support on an issue with Credits not posting prior to Payments (Cash Basis). In addition, you oftentimes have to update the PayHOA system manually to get account balances to reflect recent changes. That said, you must also remember to refresh the web browser to see the changes on the webpage. This is not an automated process during the system update. The system nomenclature uses the term "Invoices" when reviewing or printing invoices, but in actuality it's referring to individual assessments as opposed to invoices. There doesn't appear to be a way to print independent invoices after they have been created, just individual assessments in total. I can't find a way to print a specific grouping of assessments which make up a particular invoice. It would also be nice to have drill-down capability within reports, but I may be asking for too much at this design point.

I'm currently working with PayHOA Support on an issue with Credits not posting prior to Payments (Cash Basis). This misaligns my Undistributed Retained Earnings on the Budget vs. Actual Income Statement with my Equity Account on the Balance Sheet.

**What do you like best about PayHOA?**

PayHOA has been very helpful, this includes the software and their support.  Let me start off by saying their support is "stellar" (and I am a former IT Operations manager overseeing 12,000 Support Agents).  The response is quick and they don't give you "half-answers", something that annoys me, because then both the subscriber and PayHOA must waste more time.  So it is great that they understand the intent of the questions.  Their online support content I would say is "decent."  It does sometimes force me to ask for agent support, but not often.  The onboarding process was pretty simple, once I got the hang of it (and I am more of a "try it and then fix it if I break it" guy.  So, it is pretty intuitive, and again, their support team is very helpful and willing to do whatever it takes to onboard an HOA.

I think the thing I also like is the ability for property owners to submit "requests" back to the board and committees, which allows for a great distribution of labor and response.

**What do you dislike about PayHOA?**

I always have a lot of suggestions, so it's not so much a "dislike" but something that would help:  The "Request" engagement forms to interact with a requestor are not all that intuitive and terminology does not reflect intended actions.  For example, interactions with a requestor should be THE MOST IMPORTANT THING so it should be the most intuitive.  The lack of a simple, intuitive user experience and interface has caused some dropped balls.  I don't want to put a heavy weight to this issue, but it is the one thing that was most troubling for me, and then, every single committee member has stumbled on this, and we have to keep having training on it (which says, it is not intuitive enough, in my opinion).  Reach out if you would like me to explain this more, altho I have shared feedback about this with their support team.

Pretty simple to figure out.  Gives owners a portal.  We can track communications sent from the portal to see if people have read a message or not.

Needs a better way to add renter info and include them in texts sent from the portal.  Needs more formatting options for form letters and emails sent from portal.  If you make a board member an admin with their own login, it shows their personal email address in the reply to field if someone responds to an email from the system.  Budget option should allow to enter annual amounts instead of having to break down into monthly amounts.  Survey option is limited.  Customer service is lacking when having problems, they mainly just send you one of their help articles.  Additional features would be useful.

PayHOA truly has been life changing for our very small (4 unit) , self-managed HOA. We switched to PayHOA after several years of endless delays,  disappointments, high fees, and difficulty working with a local HOA management firm. After an easy setup integrating our bank accounts, PayHOA has empowered us to directly manage, oversee, and make decisions  more efficiently with up-to-date information. Our HOA board members are volunteers with no professional experience with accounting, however, the PayHOA software and customer support was top notch and very accessible to answer our many questions along the way as we transitioned to self-management. We were very impressed with how quickly and throughly the PayHOA team always responded to our questions and inquiries, no matter how small they were. They truly want each and every customer to succeed, no matter what level of experience you may have with accounting or managing an HOA.

There are very few, if any, downsides to using PayHOA, especially given the very competitive pricing. One aspect that has certainly improved since we started using PayHOA 2 years ago is the reporting functions. The reports available and the detail within the reports has improved.

PayHOA is very user friendly and the customer support has always been fast and efficient!  The reporting features are great and I use them every day.  As I transfer ownership of HOA's after development, the ease of teaching someone to use and implement far exceeds any expectation.

As I began using PayHOA in 2018 it's continually improved each year.  The financial reporting is a little simplistic, and I've never been able to get the Balance Sheet in a form that is useful.  However the reports still provides the data needed.

The fact that they don't have an embedded email system which requires us to use emails outside of the product for email threads.

We no longer accept paper checks for payment. it's our long-term document repository, and greatly facilitates communications with members.

I find it helpful how PayHOA gives you the ability to have a central location for payments, neighborhood communications, invoices, and document storage.

I think it could be a little on the difficult side for someone of advanced age to learn to navigate through all the different features.

I love the ease of tracking assessment fee payments.  I love the Customer Support provided.  I use this system often and appreciate how quickly I can access it on my phone.

I wish the budgeting feature were easier to use when adding new items to the budget.

It allows me to send notices via mail/email/text without having to print and distribute either through the post office or in person.  It allows me to track our budget and allows for residents to quickly gauge where we are.

Best features include; Invoicing, Homeowner information tracking, transaction mapping, ability to track payments and financial reporting. The HELP system and support team are also very knowledgeable and helpful.

When under a time constraint for an answer that requires a discussion and meeting, there are times I have not been able to schedule a meeting for up to 3 days out.

Online system for Homeowners to access and for me to use to send out invoices, track payments and run financial reports from.

Less is more and we love how simple the UI is.

I do wish it was a little easier to update the Google images for the houses instead of having to upload your own pictures. Outside of that there is not much we dislike as a community or being on the HOI.

Allowing a one stop shop for all things HOA- Dues, complaints, mailing out stuff to neighborhood, and the list goes on.
