It's almost like a field list selection box for an Excel pivot table. **What do you dislike about Oracle Demantra?** Using 7.3.1.5. It has a hard time pulling large data sets. Sometimes I want the ability to compile a tabular kind of table structure so I can export the values and manipulate it somewhere else. Not that I wouldn't love to use Oracle's BI, but business security limitations sometimes make it hard. If the records exceed a couple thousand lines with about 10 fields, it really has a hard time and often crashes. Also, in the chart functionality, I would have expected some more color, shape, chart customization options. I think some of the steps could be removed to speed up the entry process. I would like the hierarchy to be more clear as well. I think there also could be fewer limitations as far as adding and removing categories. Like having different worksheets for each of my account vs having to change a worksheet every time. Like an item that has around 100 units a month might get some weird forecast of 500+/month. Can be slow when you have too much stuff. Demantra gives you the capability to choose from a plethora of forecasting models which are best in class. This features enables companies to find the best-fit model as per their data set. This in turn helps in high accuracy once the forecasting engine has been fine tuned. 2. It lets you build a Consensus forecast by taking the inputs from various other stakeholder like Marketing, Finance etc. This helps in locking forecast with all parties on board. 3. Demantra enables you to do a manual over-ride on the Forecast. Human intervention is required in high value products which do not have a very good historical data patterns. For such products Demantra maynot give the best possible forecast and Demand Planners need to manually over-ride the generated forecast. 4. Demantra can be used to develop a multi-echelon Forecasts. Demantra does not have a smart engine which can adjust the forecasting model which needs to be selected as per the data provided. Once the engine is configured with a given set of data, if the data trend or characteristics changes then the engine needs to be re-tuned. 2. The main problem areas were: 1. Unreliable forecast. 2. No Consensus Forecast between teams. Benefits realised: 1. Increase forecast accuracy and reached close to 85% within 3 months of implementation and support. 2. All data was collated under one data lake of Demantra. 3. If integrated with Inventory optimization, production scheduling, global order promising any organization can leverage the maximum benefit out of Supply chain planning. **What do you dislike about Oracle Demantra?** Though this application is not meant for upside down customizations there is very little room for customizations considering this is not a daily use application. Business logic anyways can be handled with Oracle PL SQL if demantra can be installed on an Oracle Database I'm not sure if demantra can be installed on other databases. Analytical engine which generates the forecast uses highly complex algorithms and it is flexible to provide engine turning to smoothen the forecast graph.
