"Intuitive Excel Frontend with Fast, Scalable Planning on SAP HANA"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

The Excel Frontend: SAP designed IBP with an Excel add-in user interface. Planners who spent decades working in spreadsheets find the transition highly intuitive because they can view and manipulate live cloud data using familiar Excel formulas and formatting. Speed and Scale: Because it runs on the SAP HANA in-memory database, it handles massive data sets across global networks rapidly, allowing for quick scenario analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

Web UI vs. Excel Dissonance: While planners love the Excel interface for data entry, some administrative tasks, analytics dashboards, and configuration settings must be done via the Web UI, which can feel fractured. Steep Learning Curve for Advanced Features: While basic forecasting is straightforward, advanced features like multi-echelon inventory optimization or complex response algorithms require deep mathematical and supply chain expertise to configure correctly. "Streamlined End-to-End Planning with Real-Time Visibility in SAP IBP"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

What I like most about SAP Integrated Business Planning is that it brings multiple planning activities—such as demand, supply, and inventory planning—into a single platform. This makes it much easier to get a clear, end-to-end view of business requirements and plan accordingly. Features like demand forecasting, real-time data visibility, and scenario planning are particularly useful for supporting better, more informed decisions. It also cuts down on manual work, improves coordination across teams, and helps surface potential supply or demand issues early. Overall, it makes the planning process feel more organised, efficient, and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

One area where SAP IBP could improve is the initial setup and the platform’s overall complexity. It can take a while for new users to understand the various features and workflows, especially if they aren’t already familiar with SAP planning tools. Some configuration and customisation options also require technical knowledge, which can make implementation and ongoing adjustments feel challenging. Reporting is another point where the experience could be smoother. Generating reports and moving between different planning views isn’t always as straightforward as it could be. Better in-product guidance, simpler navigation, and more flexible reporting options would make SAP IBP easier to use and would improve the overall user experience. "SAP IBP Unifies Planning, Data, and Decisions for Better Supply Chain Visibility"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

What I like most about SAP Integrated Business Planning is that it brings planning, data, and decision-making together in one connected process. Supply chains are constantly changing, so having better visibility into demand, inventory, and supply allows businesses to make more informed decisions instead of reacting after problems occur.

From a sales perspective, I also like that the value is very tangible. It’s not just about implementing another technology—it’s about helping companies improve forecasting, reduce inefficiencies, and respond more effectively to changes in their business. That combination of complex technology, real business impact, and consultative selling is what makes SAP IBP particularly interesting to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

One challenge I see with SAP Integrated Business Planning is that it can be complex to implement and adopt, particularly for organizations with complicated supply chains or teams that are used to working with different planning processes and systems. Getting the most value from the platform requires strong data, alignment across teams, and user adoption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Proactive Planning with Seamless Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

I really like the demand forecasting capability in SAP Integrated Business Planning—it’s remarkably accurate and helps me anticipate market shifts. I also value the integrated planning view because it connects supply, demand, and inventory data in one place, which makes it easier to spot bottlenecks before they become problems. The scenario planning tool is another feature I appreciate, as it lets me test different what-if situations and see their impact before making decisions. Overall, these features give me the accuracy and flexibility I need to plan with confidence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

A few things could be improved from my experience. First, the learning curve is fairly steep — the interface and configuration options can be overwhelming for new users, so a more intuitive onboarding process or simplified UI would help a lot. Second, integration with certain third-party or legacy systems isn't always smooth, which sometimes creates extra manual work to reconcile data. Third, the scenario planning tool, while powerful, can feel slow when running complex simulations with large datasets — improving processing speed there would make it much more practical for day-to-day use. Lastly, I think more customizable, user-friendly reporting and dashboards would make it easier to share insights with teams that aren't as familiar with the platform. "IBP’s Integrated Planning with Powerful Analytics and Scenarios"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

The best part of IBP is its integrated approach to planning, which brings together demand, supply, and inventory planning with strong analytics and scenario capabilities. This helps planners better understand trade-offs and respond quickly to changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

The solution’s complexity makes the learning curve relatively steep. If usability were improved, configuration simplified, and integrations made more seamless, it would be even stronger overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Supply Chain Planning, Though Setup Takes Effort"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

I like that SAP Integrated Business Planning brings demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimization together in one platform. Its forecasting, real-time visibility into planning data, and scenario planning and what-if analysis help me make informed decisions and respond to changing market demands. I also appreciate how it improves collaboration across teams, supports better resource utilization, and integrates with SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise systems. The scenario planning features help teams compare possible situations, identify potential shortages or excess inventory, and assess risks before making decisions. I value the visibility across operations and the support it provides for building a more efficient and resilient supply chain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

I found the initial setup moderately straightforward, but configuring planning areas and master data, integrating source systems, setting up data flows, and aligning planning models with business requirements took some technical effort. The initial configuration and data integration can be complex. More guided setup tools, simpler configuration, clearer documentation, and better onboarding would make the experience smoother and faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SAP IBP Makes Planning Changes Easy with Visual Scenario Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

In this case, I used SAP IBP in order to align the process of demand, supply, and inventory planning in various workgroups. Almost all of my activities were associated with planning runs evaluation, analyzing the differences between forecasts and reality, and verifying any changes in demand and supply planning parameters.

The feature that caught my attention here is the rapid recalculation of any changed scenario parameters. In fact, when performing planning review activities, I had the opportunity to use the latest data on demand or supply and see how they would impact the overall inventory calculation results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

Sometimes, the planning process may become complicated by various planning models and stakeholders. Initially, much time can be needed to learn how the planning areas and data inputs interact.

Furthermore, solving problems related to planning discrepancies may need exploring various layers of configurations and data inputs. In case the outcomes are not what was expected, one needs to determine whether the problem lies within the data inputs, planning, or models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Predictive Planning, but Integration and Setup Are Painfully Complex"
1.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

Real-Time Enterprise Data Integration: Seamlessly syncs with SAP S/4HANA and enterprise data sources, creating a single source of truth and simplifying data pipeline management.

Advanced Predictive Analytics & AI: Combines machine learning with unified financial and operational forecasting to accurately predict demand and optimize supply chain planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Business Planning?

Connecting SAP IBP directly with external, modern AI models (like Gemini or Claude) or third-party orchestration tools is notoriously complex, often requiring custom middleware, heavy ETL work, or complex API workarounds rather than simple native hooks.

Steep Learning Curve & High Complexity: Configuring planning models, key figures, and disaggregation rules requires deep specialized expertise, which makes system maintenance heavy and initial implementation slow compared to modern, agile data platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
