## Nylas Reviews
 ### 1. Founder

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James P. | Founding Sales Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

It's nice that they help handle some of the calendar/inbox complexity

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Still a lot you need to handle in your own database, that makes it not really worth the hassle of setting up and not owning it, especially now with coding agents that can more easily handle 0auth complexity.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nylas handled the scheduling for my website builder but the pricing model doesn't really scale and isn't worth it.

 ### 2. Powerful Email API for Shared Inbox Development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasper P. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Our team used Nylas to build a shared inbox, and it was an absolute game-changer. The Email API was straightforward to integrate, with well-documented guides. We've been using Nylas for over 3 years now.

What stood out the most was the seamless onboarding experience. Within days, a functional shared inbox allowed us to focus on improving our core product instead of worrying about backend complexities.

The API itself is powerful yet straightforward, offering all the features we need—from syncing emails reliably to managing threads and attachments efficiently. Nylas made it possible to deliver a professional-grade feature to our users with minimal hassle.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nothing really—like all services it's evolving and has its quirks sometimes. But in the years we used it we barely had any outages, and that is the most important for our service.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid development to make quick iterations to business

 ### 3. Using Nylas for Email Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas has helped make email sending from our application seamless for end users. Users wanted to send emails to their contacts through our app, but did not want the emails to come from a third-party mail server or address. Nylas's integrations with Gmail and Microsoft scopes made the build of this functionality much easier and more scalable, so that thousands are able to reliably use this function daily.

Our users are delighted with this functionality, and Nylas helped make it possible.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Explaining how Nylas works to our users can be complicated. The Nylas documentation is helpful, but can get technical.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Users wanted to send emails to their contacts through our app, but did not want the emails to come from a third-party mail server or address. With our Nylas integration, users are now able to send messages from our app through their mail server, increasing their contacts' trust that the messages are indeed coming from them.

Users also wanted complete contact reports for all emails between them and their contacts, even outside of our platform. Nylas allows us to get these email threads and record them for users, saving hours of administrative time and making our product stickier.

 ### 4. Perfect Fit for Email Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

It´s great how nylas make your life easier when you are in the need of integrating with multiple email providers. They provide a powerfull API that allowed us to create an email integration with different vendors without worrying about the littel details of connecting with each one.

It solves the big headache around email deliverability by allowing end users to use directly their email address when sending emails through a third party tool.

As well the implementation time is really short and can help you to get a pretty cool and robust product in just a few weeks.

Communication with the support team is fluent and they are always ready to solve your questions and assist with any need/issue you might jump into.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Since they built their API in a way that it can be used on most of the email providers there are a few specific features that you do not have when integrating with them.

As well the torubleshooting could be a bit complicated due to the additional layer.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were working on a solution for a customer where we wanted to offer a solution to their end users where they can gain new leads based on some contact information they had. We did not want to deal with all the issues areoun deliverability and readibility around other tools were you send email campaigns that ultimately end in the junk folder.

Nylas offered an easy to use/integrate API that allowed our customer to offer to their end customers the ability to use their own email addresses in order to be more effective on the lead generation.

 ### 5. Using Nylas made building what would have been a fragmented and laborious implementation easy.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

I like that the platform abstracts away the details of what upstream provider our users might use for email services. We have one API that we build for, that's it.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Some of the tooling for their v2 API has not been carried over to v3. Additionally, navigating their documentation was difficult given the various APIs in existence.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have customers who use different email services. It helps us by providing a single API that we integrate with for all of them, rather than needing to build and maintain platform-specific implementations.

 ### 6. This company is a scam

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Calendar feature is very basic. Documentation is outdated, very expensive product ( 3k per year)

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

This is the worst company I ever dealt with regarding customer support. They put hidden clauses in your contract to auto-renew. They renew whenever they want. If you want to sign with them be careful those are not people you can trust.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing much. I stopped using their scheduling feature after 3 months because it was very limited and doesn't really allow you to customize recurring schedulings.

 ### 7. Product feature Goldmine for a CRM platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel M. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Allowing all of our customers and potential customers to connect with thier email provider and then manage thier calendars and schedule via automation, has allowed many to remove subscriptions with calendly and others and then replace with our CRM's functionality around scheduling, savings customers and making onboarding easier.

Thier customer service for our technical team is also superb.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nothing, they have a phenominal service.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This allows our SaaS platform connect to email providers and calendars for our end users of our CRM platform and allowing the integration to be seamless to sync emails in our CRM contact activity history, sending of emails, checking calendars and scheduling interviews and events via automations.

 ### 8. Avoid Nylas Scheduling

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaac B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

It seemed like it would be cheaper at first.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Unclear documentation for their API, unuseful support, existing bugs in the scheduling tool.

It booked events over other events, and was probably the worst API integration I've ever had.

If you need calendar features DO NOT use Nylas.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They did not help! Please avoid at all costs if you need scheduling APIs.

 ### 9. Easy ESP Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenton W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Easy and quick ESP integration and friendly staff.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Not so much about Nylas but going through the process to become google or microsoft verified is extremly painful. It would be nice if there was a quicker way to get verified. If that is something Nylas can do to help companies become verified faster that would be great.

Some of the documentation is older and hasn't been updated in a while.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It take a lot of time, development, and management of services to integrate with teh different ESP's. Nylas allows you to quickly get setup and integrate.

 ### 10. Easy to use platform for integrating with multiple calendar providers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Milo H. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

It only took us a few weeks to roll out calendar support in our app, with a small team
Easy integration with Google Calendar, Office265 + Outlook
Excellent Typescript/NodeJS support
EU based data centre

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Onboarding involves too many people - would be nice to have just one main point of contact.
The virtual events don't offer full availability API support
The calendar API's weren't update very frequently

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nylas makes it easy for us to launch features which have calendar integrations built in directly.

 ### 11. A One Stop Solution for Email Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

A portfolio company of ours, GrowthGenius, has used Nylas since 2019. Management spoke highly of it, saying it helped them handle email integration in GG's lead gen platform.

A few points that stood out:
- flexibility and ease of integration.
- API documentation is clear and well-structured.
- Email synchronization (email data, contacts, and calendars across different email providers)

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nothing to complain about, that's worth noting. CS team is pretty solid, so it makes up for any shortcomings.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For GrowthGenius, an important aspect of Nylas has been its scalability. Nylas has scaled with GG and has performed consistently.

Also, Nylas' email integrations across numerous providers have become table stakes for GG's clients.

 ### 12. Nylas makes it easy to work with different email providers and protocols

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas offers a comprehensive set of features, allowing to access and interact with email data, send and receive messages, manage calendars and events, and handle contacts.
So using Nylas we easely implemented 2-way sync of data with our crm system.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nothing.
All issue our team faced during integration Nylas - was solved quickly.
Even when we were found some gaps in a sync proces Nylas team provided updates in a short terms. Support team worked well, provide a lot of effort to help us, provided a lot of details and clarifications.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using sync of calendars, contacts and email sync.

So our customers can easily keep their custome relation info as in our crm as in related email account.

Nylas allow us to reduce a time on development of real time calendar sync. So we save a lot of time and money on development of such feature.

Now our customers are happy, because it much more comfortable to track client relation info

 ### 13. One stop for an Email Solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The universal nature of the email endpoints and the ability to quickly setup and launch. Really helped us throught the Google Audit process quick and easily

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

We had some breaking system changes. Well communicated but never ideal to change your architecture

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We launched a 2 way email service using Nylas which was useful to cover Google, Microsoft and other types all in one way.

 ### 14. Platform is not stable and customer support team is unhelpful

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The API is easy to integrate with. When it works, it's good.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The platform is HIGHLY unstable and filled with bugs. We've spent weeks writing code to workaround their quirks. The customer support team is not very responsive, they spend so much time asking you to gather evidence of the issues and once you gather them, they say they will create a ticket and never respond with resolution of the bug. We have had critical bugs that have not been resolved in months. Avoid this platform at all costs.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nylas helps provide a unified API to connect with various calendar sources.

 ### 15. Smooth, enjoyable and professional engagement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vladyslav M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

We have been using Nylas for over 9 months now. The API was stable and reliable. Developer documentation is amazing, everything is covered in detail with both text descriptions and code examples. The SDK was also very nice. I would also like to highly recommend Alex Gremer and Maggie Harwood for their help during the process. They handled everything professionally and with great care, and excellent communication at all times. Overall, best customer experience by far!

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The biggest issues that we've had along the process were tied with Google verification and not with Nylas. Unfortunately, that's the part of the process that Google requires.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need Nylas to support email sending via user's email inbox. Nylas APIs allow to send emails, read user inbox emails and track the emails that were sent via webhook.

 ### 16. Nylas Cares About Your Success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe R. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The technology made integrsting an email client into our app feasible without excessive dev time.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The tech is still evolving. There are some feature holes but they are being addressed.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to tightly integrate an email client to our task management system. Nylas fit the bill.

 ### 17. Lacks OAuth of Outlook integration and unsatisfactory support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arushi L. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Google Calendar integration was easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nylas does not support OAuth for Outlook accounts and expects customers to build basic authorization. This is a no-go from a security pov for us. However, the same was not mentioned during the sales cycle, rather we were promised that all functionalities are available for both Google and Outlook.
It's been 3 months (at the point of writing this review) since we raised this issue with their team. In 3 months they have not been able to even mention which quarter I can expect this functionality to be available. The support team is extremely slow to reply and our emails have gone unanswered for weeks at times.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We bought Nylas Calendar APIs to fast-track our time to market for Google and Outlook calendar integrations. But sadly, not a benefit that we'd have been able to derive.

 ### 18. Backend integration platform for calendar functionality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick W. | CTO - Cofounder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

1.) Great documentation
2.) Excellent scaled cost
3.) Easy to implement

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

I'd like there to be more granular control of specific calendar apis like Google. For example, I'd like to be able to control the calendar entry color

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Full featured calendar integration

 ### 19. Great tool, but greedy finance department. Not recommend!

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

We used this tool for two years, its besides the poor microsoft connection really a good solution to google imap. Currently, we are using a platform (**gun) for all our e-mails, therefore we canceled Nylas.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Currently, we are using a platform (**gun) for all our e-mails, therefore we canceled Nylas. First, the said we had a year contract and they aren't possible to cancel directly. I asked for a signed contract to conclude if this was a month/year payment, they backed down and it was a monthly payment with 1 month cancellation period. I've paid one month extra, but it is unclear what kind of contract you have... and the support team is not that friendly and cooperative. I wish them all the luck. Hopefully this point will be improved in the future for new customers!

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using imap emails from google business mail

 ### 20. Important part of our ATS/CRM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenny D. | Lead Software Developer & Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

It's an integral part of our ATS/CRM and a key feature for our users to be able to consult previous communications with their clients and contacts.
Great support and communication. Allowing us to integrate services as we need them. Follow-up by Customer Success Manager, they care about their users. The dashboard has been improving over the years.
We had to move away from a service that was shutting down. The transition was smooth without any issues. We're looking forward to using additional services besides the email synchronization we currently use.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

While there are SDK's for certain programming languages, there's one missing for PHP unfortunately.
The dashboard could use some extra functionality to troubleshoot issues ( API calls through the web interface,...).
Some issues are not seen as important and put as low priority.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently we only use the data synchronization to fetch email communications. Biggest advantage is not having to self-implement interface with different mail providers (authentication, indexing and data retrieval), it's all taken care of.

 ### 21. Exceptional Product with clarity at every step and out of the world customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaibhav V. | Product Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas has been a great partner and their API has been a blessing that solved a lot of business issues for us. Also, its documentation is by far more detailed than any other product out there.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

There is always scope for improvement, but Nylas team has always been attentive, hence there is nothing to dislike with our association with Nylas.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication with and for different parties involved on our product, through connecting organization/business mails to the product we are providing, it solved really a big puzzle for us

 ### 22. Exactly the solution we needed with an incredible onboarding team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin S. | Technical Product Manager, CDP & ServiceNow, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The best thing about our experience with the product - aside from the fact that it does what we needed it to do - was the onboarding support. We needed to integrate calendar data into an existing system, and our developers were very familiar with the existing system, but not at all familiar with Nylas. As the business user who brought Nylas to the table, I was very happy with the fact that we had dedicated and readily available developer resources from the Nylas side that could directly work with the developers on my side to architect our solution. We were really pleased with the nearly immediate responses we got to questions we had, and the creative solutions suggested to some of our specific requirements. We had a lot of questions at the beginning and the team was very helpful in answering them; as we went on they were helpful in helping us to identify and understand some of the peculiar things about dealing with calendar data. Ultimately we got exactly the solution we needed, and I think everyone (from the technical and non-technical sides) is pleased with our decision. It's likely that the solution we created for one part of our business will be expanded to a different part of our business because of how successful the process was.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The sales process was a little aggressive, but when I flagged elements that I did not like, someone else stepped in and handled my concerns. I would emphasize that there is nothing I dislike about the product - it's excellent! It's just the sales team I could do with less of - but that's often true with sales teams.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

Even if you're not technical, spend time reading the docs - they're very useful in helping to understand the product! It really does do seemingly everything one could need when integrating and using this type of data.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Calendar data and availability are complicated; we needed to expose consolidated calendar availability data to an existing system. The problem we're solving is the effort required to build all of the integrations from scratch. To do that, we would have needed more time and human resources than we had available. Nylas made it easy - a single API that handled all of the complicated parts of this for us that we could expose and integrate into our existing system let us launch faster and focus on the parts of the project that were more bespoke and unique to our existing system.

 ### 23. Good Email / Calendar API integration for our SEP

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

We use Nylas to integrate Gmail and Outlook Email and Calendar API for users of our application, a sales engagement platform. Nylas was the first platform we came across for this use case.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nylas cannot
- Detect Email with Out of Office content
- Email tracking is not accurate and reliable. We had to write our code to make sense of the email tracking metrics
- The Calendar design and features are nowhere near Calendly.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Email API- Sending and receiving emails
- Calendar API
- Excessive over charging for features
- Not at all helpful support team
- Very expensive Google Auth Verification

Just does the job with a few hiccups.

 ### 24. Pretty much the only - and the best - reliable solution for building email/calendar sync solutions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zvi B. | Builder, Tech/Real Estate Investor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

I love the speed and stability of the APIs - given how unstable the underlying services (Gmail, Office365, EWS) can be, what they have done is nothing short of magical. It's a dream to build off their APIs, and I've barely scratched the surface on some of their cooler neural network products!

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Some minor API limitations, but that's not a bother. The only thing I've shared with the team is it would be great to have startup pricing (e.g. free for the first few accounts, to help a developer build!)

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've implemented Nylas in two companies - one having scaled to eight figures in revenue. The core problem we're solving is we need to retrieve email, calendar, and contact information from our users accounts, and the underlying APIs with each provider a big mess!

 ### 25. Great set of APIs to kickstart your project

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joaquin A. | Lead Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

As a startup we needed to built an MVP as fast possible. The APIs and Integrations that Nylas had to offer allowed us to launch faster than we expected and with a fewer amount of developers involved. Also, their support team is exceptional, great response time and quality.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The documentation could be improved. As the SDK is so big, it can be confusing at times, more code examples would help. The impact this could have is greatly reduced by the quality of their support team.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Nylas to communicate with Google's and Microsoft's Calendars and sync data on their side with ours. Their SDK allowed us to avoid having to generate integrations for each provider on our side, saving time and effort.

 ### 26. Fantastic product, fantastic company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaac N. | Head of Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

We went the "build" route first when it came to our email provider + IMAP connectors, and it slowed us down a lot. When we started a larger refactor I wanted to see how we could cut out some of our complexity and instability, and I stumbled on Nylas. Their product does exactly what it's supposed to, and it does it well. Their documentation was clear which got us up and running very quickly. Everyone on their side who has assisted us has been an absolute pleasure.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Nothin! Anything issue I've had they've been super helpful about and resolved in real-time. 100% of the issues I've had have been wetware defects on my end (aka me not reading the documentation properly)

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Powering email connectivity for all of our accounts, to be able to properly send and receive email both on an automated and manual basis. Using Nylas increased our dev team's velocity quite a bit.

 ### 27. Great calendar integration, Good customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Supports lots of different calendar providers. Generally quick and friendly customer support. Decent documentation provided for their APIs. I love the webhook that tells us if a calendar connection has broken and needs re-authorization.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Difficult setup process for Microsoft and Google verifications, though this isn't entirely Nylas' responsibility they could provide more straightforward direction for passing the verification process.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

Budget extra time for verification required by Microsoft and Google.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating our clients' calendars into our application in a predictable way and informing us when the connections have broken.

 ### 28. Great product and people

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Douglas D. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Implementing the Nylas Scheduler has been one of the easiest integrations I've done. When we encountered issues or questions, Nylas support was prompt, friendly, and super helpful. Our client success manager is also great. I wasn't involved in the vendor selection, but from talking to others, Nylas Scheduler has delivered as promised.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The only downside we've encountered is a bug with events set as "Out of Office" in Outlook calendar show up as available in the Nylas Scheduler, but they said it is a bug they are aware of hope to have a fix out shortly.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On our advertisers directory site, we use Scheduler to allow advertisers to integrate their email calendars and set up availability for prospective customers to self-schedule a meeting.

 ### 29. Everything you need and none of the hassle.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan D. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas is a really easy-to-use API. It's fast to set up and start using. I've integrated Nylas a couple of times, and I'm usually mostly done with the initial integration before the sales cycle is complete.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

It's not Nylas' fault, but getting verified by Microsoft and Google is a huge pain. Nylas is always available to guide you on that process, though. They even have 3rd party experts ready to hold your hand through the whole process.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

Just go and try it out. Getting started is easy, and the docs are pretty good.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Nylas for scheduling appointments as well as sending emails. Sending out emails couldn't be easier. I'm also trialing their new outbox feature where you can schedule emails—really handy stuff.

 ### 30. Developer friendly software and company support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle B. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas releases festures that matter the most to its customers. It makes integration with Google and Microsoft email, calendars, etc. really easy with a unified API

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The price to onboard with Nylas and get a security review is really high. If there were a way to reduce that cost it would be a no brainer to use Nylas.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

If you need Google and Microsoft calendar and email integration, Nylas is a great choice.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unified email and calendar API integration with Google and Microsoft. Scheduling abilities integrated with your Calendars like Calendly.

 ### 31. Best Calendar API ever!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas is a very great software for for simplifiying the process of OAuth and the use of their API's

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

It a bit difficult to get started since there is a lot of documentation and a lot of different ways to do things.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nylas is solving our internal Calendar System. We now offer the option for our customers to integrate their Google, Outlook or Office 365 mail.

 ### 32. Great email/calendar integration for our CRM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel C. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas makes it very easy to integrate with both Google and Microsoft-based emails/calendars and also legacy email accounts. We can use one API to work with all of those and don't need to worry about the housekeeping side of things. The scheduler is a really great tool for appointment creation. Nylas saved us months of work and is keeping us from having a lot of ops headaches. It is a joy to work with their sales and support team.

We are also excited about the new functionality they are developing.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

There is not much to dislike. Obviously, I'd always love lower pricing but compared to the engineering resources needed it's worth it.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Email integration across multiple platforms for sending and/or receiving, calendar integration, scheduler, hopefully API features in the future. We benefitted from turning a 3 months project into a 3-week project.

 ### 33. Amazing Email Synchronization Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Head of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Their service is easy to use, and it allows us to sync with pretty much every email provider out there. Also, their customer support is fantastic! We couldn't be happier by using Nylas.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

They cannot do Bounce Checking, and their Reply detection could be a little bit better. But, I'm aware that they are working on improving the Bounce Checking. Hopefully, the Reply Detection is not that far down the line.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our platform syncs email accounts to allow our clients to send e-mails using their provider from inside our platform. Nylas enable us to sync with almost every email provider by having an interface that connects to every email provider (Gmail, Exchange, Custom IMAP, etc.).

 ### 34. Nylas is a great way to provide enhanced functionality to your applications.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas made it easy to add two-way calendar syncing into our application. We saved countless developer hours by utilizing Nylas versus building an Office 365 and Exchange integration in-house. It also gives us the ability to expand to Google Calendar in the future.

Also, the support provided by Chris, Chase, Brayton, and the Customer Success team was top-notch. Anytime we had an issue come up, we had a response from someone the same day. That kind of support is invaluable when you're integrating with a third-party API.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The speed at which updates propagate can be a little slow. It's not so slow that real users would notice, but it is noticeable during demos when you have your application and the calendar client open side by side. Nylas has told me that the new beta calendar API is quite a bit speedier.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We provide a two-way calendar integration between our application and calendar clients like Office 365, outlook.com, and self-hosted Exchange. We have been able to code against a single API rather than coding against two separate APIs and have the ability to expand to Google Calendar, iCloud, and others. Ongoing maintenance versus building an in-house solution is also significantly reduced.

 ### 35. Reliable business partners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The Nylas solution was exactly what we were looking for and indirectly assisted with other needs we had as an organization. Their support as business partners is exceptional. IT is a pleasure to work with them, would refer to anyone without hesitation.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Really nothing that we dislike. At this stage, we hope they develop other solutions we would need in the short term as quickly as they can so that we expand our dealings with them.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are answering regulatory requirements and have been able through Nylas to solve an upcoming technological need proactively. We have improved our efficiencies with their solutions and have done so with minimal disruption.

 ### 36. ServiceNow-Nylas-Outlook integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Delante L. | ServiceNow Developer & Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The customer service was excellent and a very good turn around time for solutions when problems popped up.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

We built 80% of our solution on the ServiceNow side. It would have been nice to see Nylas do some of the lifting out of the box.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a simple concept but brilliant idea to have this integration. We had an requirement to have our Customer Service agents update their Outlook calendars when students booked appointments. These agents were only going to be working at separadic times during the week and each service offered had different times needed.

We just needed an application to pull calendar data from Outlook and bring that data into ServiceNow. Then pull data from ServiceNow as it is being updated to push back into an agent's Outlook calendar.

 ### 37. Partnering with Nylas frees up multiple engineers and gives us tons of time back

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nora I. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Instead of maintaining, managing, and troubleshooting issues with Exchange, we can rely on Nylas to successfully manage the MS Exchange Integration. It gives so much time back to our ProdDev team, so we can focus on building exciting new features for our customers.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

There are specific nuances in wording when it comes to disconnecting accounts. For example, what we would consider "stopped" is not the same as "disconnected". So, there is a manual process in removing accounts that are no longer active.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On-prem integrations are challenging to not only build but maintain - and time-consuming. We've seen a massive benefit in having a trusted partner like Nylas manage things that are in their specific core competency, so that we can further and better serve our customers in sales engagement.

 ### 38. Terrific Email Integration API

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek B. | Co-Founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Nylas is easy to get started with and configured for your project. The Nylas API enables your team to build a powerful email/calendar integration spanning multiple providers (Google Workspace/Office365). On top of that are several other features that we found helpful, such as the sentiment analysis and readily available machine learning APIs that let you extract signature information or retrieve only the critical text from an HTML-heavy email. The Nylas support team is great and has answers for every step of your way.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

We found the server-side NodeJS package a bit lacking and isn't maintained quite as frequently. That said, the critical pieces were there, but at times we directly interfaced with the API using Axios. The documentation is massive, and it can sometimes be challenging to find what you're looking for.

While not a problem with Nylas, if you are looking at building an application that uses Google/Google OAuth with emails outside your domain and uses restricted scopes (reading/editing emails/etc.) Google essentially has a paywall for security that requires a relatively expensive audit. If you're building an app for use within your domain or just targeting Outlook365 then you have nothing to worry about.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our application has deep email and calendar integrations. Had we not used Nylas, our team would have had to learn several different APIs and integrate with them directly. Nylas solves that problem for us superbly.

 ### 39. A good tool with potential to be great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phoebe B. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Reuseable UI elements and simple, well documented APIs. There is a good foundation for future enhancements in automated messaging and SMS to align with what exists today for email. Our support contacts have been pleasant and knowledgeable. The scheduling editor and event management tools in general are highly configurable.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

The inflexibility of hosted auth approach for the calendar API forced our hand into pursuing native authentication- if some consideration had been given to allowing a configurable ui element to tie into the hosted auth on nylas' end it would have saved quite a bit of time on our end. Although the documentation is thorough there are occasional contradictions/maintenance issues that can cause (albiet brief) delays in development.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the burden of providing sys admin/email admin support falls on us, which we were somewhat unprepared to do. Additional support documentation or guidance there would be particularly useful, though our Nylas support team has been on board with working to provide something along these lines going forward. The reusable UI elements and the sturdy back-end capabilities of Nylas have cut down on a lot of design and development effort for us and made the pathway toward extending the product's usability within our platform easier.

 ### 40. Never have to think about email integrations again

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arjun K. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

- integrates with every email service (that matters)
- 10x'd our development speed
- excellent documentation for the technical product
- very simple and easy to use
- staff are extremely helpful with any questions
- top notch security or compliance

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

- not too much, honestly. Nylas removes the technical challenge of integrating with other email services, but not the organization challenges (working with IT teams at other businesses). over time, we'd love to see Nylas provide best practices on how to make it easier for IT teams to integrate their custom Office or G Suite setups with the product.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

if you need to integrate with business admin functions (email/calendars) without the hassle of building a solution for every provider, I strongly recommend Nylas

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we're a customer data platform. our product requires permissioned access to analyze emails sent to customers. this could be a nightmare to set up for each major platform (Office, G Suite, and the myriad of other smaller players). With Nylas, we only needed to implement our technical solution once. It's a 10x lower development cost, and therefore 10x improvement in product iteration. We focus on the business logic instead of the implementation details.

 ### 41. Nylas for Microsoft Office 365 Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The staff from great and helpful from the start of the project up to the end.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

So far nothing, everything works as expected.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Nylas API to integrate our Office 365 emails into our own software.

 ### 42. Great email integration tool for our marketing + sales automation platform - and exceptional support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

We've used Nylas APIs in our platform to enable integrations with a number of email service providers to bolster our CRM capabilities. Nylas has worked great for our system, and we've been able to easily use the services for our needs. In particular, wanted to call out Nylas' exceptional support. After running into an unexpected, urgent issue related to a Google integration, Chris from Nylas' support team brought his went above and beyond to help us resolve. He was professional, competent, and sensitive to our timeline - and therefore very responsive. Very appreciative of the reliable support from Nylas, thank you!

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

No notable downsides! Happy with the product

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used Nylas APIs in our platform to enable integrations with a number of email service providers to extend our CRM capabilities. We were looking for a cost-effective solution to quickly get email integrations to work in our platform.

 ### 43. Our Nylas reps have been professional and quick to respond. Docs are great.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The single point of integration for email

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Slow response times on webhook triggers.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of giving users the ability to track job dates in our application and sync those dates with their Outlook calendars. This sync is 2-way, and allows users to manage those dates after syncing both from Outlook and our application, and the calendar will be updated in both places.

 ### 44. Seamless email integration for our customers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William C. | Senior Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Easy to implement and Nylas maintains all the backend connections to various providers so we don't have to.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Google verification is expensive, but that is really a Google issue, not a Nylas issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

If you're looking to offload all the headaches and management of connecting to various email/calendar/contacts providers, Nylas is the answer.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Nylas, our customers can now send emails from our platform as themselves versus having them sent from an email address using our domain. Our customers didn't like having emails sent from our domain as they seemed impersonal to their clients.

 ### 45. Great shortcut to get things done quickly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The fact their documentations are super thorough and explanatory is amazing, on top of that that the product makes it seamless to integrate with main Google APIs without having to go through the hassle of the entire Google infrastructure and chaos is key.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

We haven't stumbled upon any main pitfalls yet - it delivered on what was promised - perhaps integrating with more Google APIs such as Sheets / Docs, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

If what you aim for is quick integration with Google APIs - Nylas is definitely the way to go.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating with Google APIs quickly and efficiently.

 ### 46. Great idea, imature API

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Easy way of supporting multiple email providers without having to build a specific integration for each one

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

- Worst support I've experienced in years. They make you debug their own API and you have to hand them in a report to try to make the case for them to fix their issues
- Can be down hours at a time without any communication
- No concept of support outside of PST hours - not even when their API is down
- Ignore core bugs that render entire parts of their api useless for months
- Obscure pricing
- All in all I'm not happy with the decision of adding Nylas to our stack. Now we are stuck with them and they make it rather hard to switch out (e.g. not exposing real message ids, only Nylas message ids)

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Supporting multiple types of inboxes (Office365, Gmail, Outlook) without having to build a custom integration for each.

 ### 47. Good product and adaptability, does the integration with providers easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

The realtime notification webhooks incoming from providers

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

As other SaaS existing bugs in product to be solved

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Realtime email and calendar synchronization to different providers

 ### 48. One of the best APIs to work with

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabio F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Simple to setup & a great developer experience. We've been able to support our large enterprise customers effectively with Nylas for years.

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

For our use case, there is not much to dislike. There are some times that we'd like certain filters added to the APIs, but nothing big enough that has hindered us from providing our product to our users.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

If you're looking to integrate into various email systems, then I'd highly recommend leveraging Nylas. I'm usually skeptical of APIs that work as aggregators (that connect across various different APIs), but Nylas has been a breeze to work with. We've saved a lot of time & effort by leveraging their APIs & expertise.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product requires to connect to a user's email inbox in order for them to send & read email within our product. With Nylas, we've been able to support this for our enterprise customers with little to no ongoing efforts. We've been working with Nylas for years and are excited to continue using them going forward.

 ### 49. Immature solution with frustrating and disappointing experiences

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

Mail API independence.

Easy to use API.

Friendly customer service.

Over time issues do eventually get resolved.

A lot of other features available like calendar integration (though we haven't implemented this in our own software yet)

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Show stopping problems are ignored for months on end. When the problems on their side are realized, no accountability is taken and no real apologies given.

They ask that you troubleshoot the API on your own and return with detailed logs and ways to reproduce. Even when you do this and they bring technical people onto the call, they won't know what to do about it or even understand the logs. Then they will insist that they don't see the errors in their own logs and suggest that it might not be happening, despite the logs provided clearly indicating that it is.

After going back and forth with them regarding problems they'll begrudgingly admit that at some point it became a known problem and that they are working to resolve it. This usually means it'll be a couple more weeks before the problem goes away.

If you're having problem with a specific group of customers like Office 365. They'll expect you to keep ferrying questions to them and having them try things despite the customer getting more and more frustrated. You'd think that they'd have some sample accounts with some integration tests for things like this. At some point they should realize that our clients are already frustrated with poor service and that we don't want to subject them to continuous troubleshooting. These people have jobs of their own and shouldn't be bothered with trying to assist Nylas in fixing issues for extended periods of time.

The documentation is usually broken. When you helpfully inform them of this they'll helpfully inform you to create an account and fix it yourself. I seriously don't have all day nor the expertise to be fixing Nylas's documentation. Perhaps the documentation is so broken because they have customers making changes without enough oversight.

Their response time for fixing issues has historically been so bad that we just build fixes and queuing systems around their service so that it just periodically tries again. Expect to do this if you go with them. You may even need to implement backup SMTP settings for when the service is failing on sending for time sensitive emails that need to go out.

When you connect up an email account they don't really give you options for how you want it handled. So if you've got a webhook in place, expect it to start receiving ancient email from that account for a long time... even if you don't want or need that data.

All of these problems being said... several of the issues we've faced have been resolved or you can work around them. A new customer signing up will hopefully not have as bad of an experience as we've had. We were with them before they switched to using APIs (when they were using IMAP and SMTP only). When they made that transition, that's when things seemed to get really bad for several months.

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

If you're using the API. Be prepared to write queuing service wrappers. Be prepared when users connect to receive a lot of old data on the webhook. Write code to ignore it if you don't want it.

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mail API Independence.

We are hoping to make use of the calendar API at some point but have been reluctant due to all of the issues we've experienced with email.

 ### 50. Great way to work with email accounts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven L. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Nylas?**

It's really easy to get started with connecting niche email accounts (e.g. IMAP, Zoho, Hosted Exchange) all while having a familiar API to work with. Their support is reliable too

**What do you dislike about Nylas?**

Early days of Nylas were a bit rough but they've gotten better over time. Some iffy things you may run into:

1. You will get double charged for accounts if they change email services or if your customer "accidentally" logs in
2. It's tough to know the configuration your customer used. (e.g. I'd like to know what IMAP address they used)
3. Billing isn't transparent enough

**Recommendations to others considering Nylas:**

Read the documentation fully and ask their team for help when you're implementing the API! You will run into some weird edge cases here and there but it's all well documented.

Also, don't sync/send until your connected account is finished after the "initializing" state

**What problems is Nylas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Nylas to send/receive emails from IMAP and Exchange accounts. It's made it easy so that we don't have to support all types of email infrastructures. Nylas is the swiss army knife for these accounts for us.
