On a recurring basis, we rely on the platform to monitor economic nexus exposure, track state registrations, manage filing deadlines, and oversee remittance workflows. What do you dislike about Numeral? Numeral was notified, multiple times, about problems in my account. They ignored my many emails and ignored the issues. Numeral overpaid taxes in several jurisdictions, including in my home state, where they duplicated an entire years' worth of tax payments. The incorrect filing was brought to their attention but they did absolutely nothing. I am now trying to recover thousands of dollars - with no assistance from Numeral. We keep getting emails every week from them asking us to update our resale certificate, even though we've repeatedly requested that they just charge us tax. Our responses seem to go nowhere, and we keep getting the same emails. It's incredibly frustrating and feels like spam. The platform is horrible, and they are non-responsive. The platform is very user friendly, customer support is not a generic AI bot and has an actual support help system, affordable for growing companies, and something that our company needs to operate each month. The fact that Numeral itself is a simple and intuitive platform, giving us more power to be able to self-operate. Our company needs to file for a lot of state sales taxes and Numeral was the best solution for us to help automate the process by integrating directly into Shopify and file directly with the states. If we receive a mail or question from the states, we are able to forward the question to the Numeral team and they help advise on next steps and what Numeral can help with. I dislike Numeral for several reasons. The customer service is just awful. They don't know how to deal with local or state sales tax, and it takes months to get any response from them. I've even had someone show up at my doorstep warning me about the potential penalties due to incorrect or late filings. They've charged me thousands in fees and penalties on top of their incompetence. The initial setup was very tough to finish. This whole experience has been beyond frustrating. I find the Stripe integration in Numeral to be great. It seamlessly calculates sales tax and files returns, which theoretically should make the process easy and simple. I dislike the numerous little bugs and nuances on the platform that disrupt its functionality. For instance, the dashboard might incorrectly indicate that no collection is happening in a particular state, even when it is. I'm frustrated that even though the system is supposed to automate sales tax compliance and auto-filing, it doesn't perform these tasks effectively. I find customer support unsatisfactory, as they do not adequately address the issues or assist promptly which coupled with the bugs makes for a very unsatisfying experience.
