## About ntopng
ntopng is the next generation version of the original ntop, a network traffic probe that monitors network usage. ntopng is based on libpcap/PF\_RING and it has been written in a portable way in order to virtually run on every Unix platform, MacOS and on Windows as well.

**What do you like best about ntopng?**

ntopng is an excellent DPI tool for organizations that require simplicity and ease of implementation. One of the great strengths of ntopng is the expertise they bring to the table. If you've ever wondered who developed PF_RING for fast packet processing, it was the ntopng team. Additionally, ntopng boasts a user-friendly interface and receives support from many vendors because it is open source.

**What do you dislike about ntopng?**

Non-advanced users might find it challenging to understand how nProbe and ntopng integrate. However, the extensive documentation available makes it easy to learn.

**What problems is ntopng solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to have an overview of the traffic on the perimeter and network backbone.

**What do you like best about ntopng?**

Simplicity in installation and speed in getting your hands to work on it.

**What do you dislike about ntopng?**

Although documentation be good as it should be, there is not much video content pointing to specific topics. If you want to dive in some configuration, we need to go by ourselves and make some mistakes that should be possible to avoid.

**What problems is ntopng solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to see traffic from each computer on my lan and easy and clear. Also was possible to understand when my DMZ was receiving heavy traffic or under attack.
