## ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful Security with Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher B. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I appreciate the 'deny by default' feature in the ThreatLocker Platform. It adds value by providing restrictions that protect against zero-day attacks, ensuring that by default, everything is blocked. This feature further protects clients by stopping apps from feeding on the land if an attacker gains entry.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

The amount of admin and setup required. The deny by default takes work to get it right to allow the correct things. It's hard because we want to make sure we do everything we can to protect clients.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ThreatLocker Platform to prevent unauthorized app interactions, such as Chrome to PowerShell. It offers 'deny by default' protection to further secure clients from zero-day attacks by blocking everything unless allowed.

  ### 2. Potential use of Thretlocker

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irwin B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I love the ThreatLocker Platform; so far, it's great. People I've talked to who have been using it for years think it's a very good platform. The customer service is really easy to get in touch with, and they're very good at helping you out. They'll help you solve the problems you're having with the application.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

One of the biggest concerns I would have is a program that does Google-tier security instead of having multiple platforms which handle different aspects. It's like needing a second layer from the other architecture, like MFA, and having to authenticate access somewhere else.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think ThreatLocker Platform can enhance security for our hospital and clinics, even though we don't currently use it.

  ### 3. Zero Trust Security with Impeccable Support

  ### 9. Efficient Security with Swift Adaptability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I really appreciate the unified audit feature in the ThreatLocker Platform because it provides a single pane of glass view for what is being caught and reviewed. I also find the ease of use of the entire program and the speed at which changes can be implemented to be very beneficial. When I decide to push a change, it's ready to go normally within minutes, which is super handy in a constantly changing environment with threat actors and malicious items.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I haven't really run into any kind of issues at this time whenever it comes down to the functionality or the capabilities of the program. You know, maybe some more help modules that just kinda pop up as you're going through things. But, I mean, all the information is there and the knowledge base, so it just takes a little effort to find.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ThreatLocker Platform protects against shadow IT and prevents end users from running unsafe or unnecessary applications.

  ### 10. Peace of Mind with Strong Pre-Incident Protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I like the peace of mind I get knowing users are being protected BEFORE an incident can occur. I’ve watched it block multiple processes that have no reason to be running in our environment. Even if not necessarily malicious, I’d rather not see anything unnecessary running.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

The UI isn’t the easiest to follow. It feels like there has been a large addition of modules and features but no real update to UI to make it easier for techs to navigate. I don’t seem to know where to find to get the latest info of changes either. There have been new things added or in testing that I was unaware of until ZTW.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Threatlocker is blocking network traffic that shouldn’t be occurring and we previously weren’t aware was happening. It’s letting us lock down our computers even more and stopping users from running programs they think are legitimate but were actually downloaded from scam sites.

  ### 11. Efficient Cybersecurity, With Some Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I really appreciate the 'default deny' feature and the ease of building policies with ThreatLocker Platform. The consistency in behaviors between different modules is a big plus for me. Configuration management, application control, elevation control, network control, and storage control all have the same user interface, and the consistency in the behavior of policies, especially with the new flat hierarchy, makes it much easier to manage and understand.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I didn’t know about installation mode. That caused huge headaches with the initial deployment of secure mode. Also, while it was easy to deploy, policy work is an ongoing challenge.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ThreatLocker Platform for the cybersecurity goal of locking down environments confidently and quickly.

  ### 32. As the owner of an MSP, having ThreatLocker as a trusted partner is invaluable!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike D. | President/CEO/Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

ThreatLocker has been one of the best security solutions I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. What makes it stand out is the balance between powerful, enterprise-grade protection and practical usability for IT teams and end users.

One of the features I like most is Application Whitelisting. It puts full control back into the hands of administrators by allowing only approved applications to run. This proactive approach drastically reduces the risk of ransomware, malware, and unauthorized software slipping through the cracks.

Another standout is Ringfencing, which is incredibly effective in minimizing lateral movement and limiting how applications interact with each other and with sensitive data. Even if something malicious does get on a machine, the damage it can cause is severely restricted.

I also really appreciate the Storage Control feature. Having the ability to lock down USB devices and external drives is essential in today’s security environment. ThreatLocker makes it easy to set granular policies without inconveniencing end users.

The ease of policy management and visibility through the dashboard is excellent. The interface is intuitive, the audit logs are clear, and the ThreatLocker team provides top-notch support whenever needed. Their support staff is knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping customers succeed.

The thing I like the most about ThreatLocker is that they truly care about their customers and partners. You are not just a number to them, and you always have someone that you can reach out to when you need something. Compared to some of the other vendors out there, that is invaluable to me!

Overall, ThreatLocker gives me confidence that endpoints are secured at a much deeper level than traditional antivirus or endpoint detection tools can provide. It’s a solution that not only strengthens the security posture but also empowers IT administrators with control and clarity in ways that were previously possible but certainly not practical. I highly recommend ThreatLocker to any organization seeking robust, modern zero-trust endpoint security.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

ThreatLocker is an excellent security platform, but like any solution, there are always areas where enhancements could make it even stronger.

The ThreatLocker dev team is constantly working to improve the product, and they are rolling out new features regularly. While this is definitely a good thing, it can also make the implementation and ongoing training a little more challenging because things are always changing. However, the Cyber Hero support team is always there to assist in any way you need.

Any negative issues that you may run into are always addressed right away, so that gives me the comfort of knowing that even if there is an issue, I feel confident that we will be able to get it resolved promptly!

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an MSP, we face the daily challenge of securing diverse client environments while balancing ease of management and cost efficiency. ThreatLocker helps address many of the most common pain points like Ransomware & Malware Prevention. Traditional antivirus often reacts after an attack is underway, where ThreatLocker’s application whitelisting flips the model by only allowing known, approved applications to run, dramatically reducing ransomware and malware risk.

MSPs also struggle with users installing risky or unlicensed software. ThreatLocker gives complete control over what can run, helping maintain compliance and reducing support issues caused by shadow IT. Having protection against lateral movement and data breach means that even if an endpoint is compromised, Ringfencing restricts how applications interact with each other and sensitive data, containing threats before they spread across a client’s network.

USB drives and external devices are a major attack vector and with Storage Control, we can block or tightly control external media access, protecting against data theft and malware infections.

As you can imagine, managing dozens of clients can be overwhelming, but ThreatLocker’s centralized dashboard allows us to push consistent security policies, monitor compliance, and respond to issues quickly, while also reducing support tickets. By enforcing strict application and device controls, we see fewer incidents of users breaking systems with unauthorized installs or infected USB devices, freeing technicians to focus on more important work.

Many industries require strict access and application controls (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CMMC, etc.). ThreatLocker provides MSPs with the tools to help clients achieve and demonstrate compliance more easily.

By deploying ThreatLocker, MSPs position themselves as proactive security partners who prevent problems rather than just react to them, strengthening client relationships and retention.

  ### 33. Robust Security, But Learning Curve Needs Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adeleke O. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I like ThreatLocker Platform's ability to elevate only the required parts of an application that needs elevation.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

I find the elevation timing to be an issue. We need a shorter time than 1 hour for elevation or just-in-time options because 1 hour is a long time for a user to have admin rights. The initial setup was disruptive, and the learning curve was high. There's also a lack of documentation, especially for macOS devices, which makes things harder to navigate.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ThreatLocker Platform helps block end users from installing unapproved apps, gives insights into installed applications, and simplifies elevation without LAPS.

  ### 34. Love ThreatLocker!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

Application control and allowlisting approach provide a level of protection that goes far beyond traditional antivirus, ensuring that only trusted and approved applications are able to run within the environment. This not only minimizes the risk of ransomware and other malicious software but also gives me confidence in maintaining a secure posture across all endpoints.

The platform is intuitive yet powerful. The centralized management console makes it easy to deploy policies across multiple organizations, saving time and reducing complexity. Features like Ringfencing and Network Control add additional layers of defense, helping to prevent lateral movement and unauthorized access. I especially appreciate the level of visibility ThreatLocker provides into what applications are being used, which helps in both compliance and operational efficiency.

Another standout factor is the responsiveness of the ThreatLocker support team. Whenever I’ve had questions, they’ve been quick to provide guidance and ensure I’m making the most of the platform. Their ongoing updates and the “100 Days to Secure” program demonstrate a real commitment to customer success and continuous improvement.

Overall, ThreatLocker has proven itself to be an essential tool in protecting our environment. It combines ease of use, granular control, and strong security outcomes in a way that few solutions can match. I would highly recommend it to any organization looking to strengthen its cybersecurity posture with a practical, effective, and proactive solution.

**What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform?**

The only issues I have had are a few minor glitches in the mobile admin app, but other than that, it has worked perfectly.

**What problems is ThreatLocker Zero Trust Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before ThreatLocker, one of the biggest challenges was controlling what applications could run across multiple organizations. Traditional antivirus often reacted after a threat was detected, leaving gaps in protection. ThreatLocker solved this by flipping the model—using application allowlisting to stop unknown or unauthorized applications from ever executing in the first place. This has drastically reduced the risk of ransomware, shadow IT, and malicious software slipping through.

Another key problem it solves is visibility and control. With ThreatLocker, I can see exactly what applications, scripts, and drivers are being used in each environment. This visibility has helped identify unnecessary software, tighten compliance, and simplify licensing audits. The added Ringfencing and Network Control features go even further by restricting how applications interact with each other and the network, which reduces the attack surface significantly.

From an operational standpoint, ThreatLocker saves time and reduces complexity. Deploying global policies across multiple child organizations ensures consistency, and the centralized management console makes it easy to enforce and adjust rules quickly. This consistency has made managing security across dozens of endpoints far more efficient.

The benefit to me is peace of mind. I know the systems I manage are protected by proactive controls, not just reactive detection. That means fewer incidents, stronger compliance, and the ability to focus more on strategic IT improvements instead of constantly fighting fires.
