"Deactivated paid domain with no warning then suspended entire account after I complained"
What do you like best about NameSilo?

Website was easy to use for initial purchase Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

Customer service was beyond horrid. I was an existing customer with 2 domains registered. I decided to register a third domain for a new non profit organization I was starting. I registered the new domain on Friday. Got the website setup email services activated with Office 365. Changed email address to the new address with many institutions. Then on Tuesday morning without warning or notice NameSilo deactivated and removed the domain from my account. I got an email at 1:47am telling me I had not filled out a Contact Information form that they never informed me needed to be filled out for .org domains. They never sent any emails or notices. They just deactivated the domain and removed it from my account. It was not visible at all in in the Control Panel. I emailed support told them it was not acciable to disable my service like that with no notice and if they did not reactive the domain I would file a chargeback with the credit card I used to place the order. I then decided after I sent the email to support that a company that would turn off a paid service like that with no advance notice or warning was not a company I was willing to put my trust in. I decided to move my domains to Network Solutions. They cost more but I know based on their policies and procedures that they would not disable my domains without advance notice and warning. So I went into the NameSilo CP removed domain transfer locks on the only two 2 domains still listed in their CP and had the transfer codes sent to my emails then went to NetSol and started the transfer process. Netsol confirmed the 2 existing domains but told me the new .org domain I had registered that NameSilo deactivated did not exist so they could not transfer it. I put in the transfer codes for the domains that could be transferred then sent another email to NameSilo telling them I was going file the chargeback since they evidently not only disabled the service but canceled the registration since NetSol said it was not a valid domain. A few minutes after I sent the last email I get a reply from their support. They reactivated the .org domain name. Did not address my complaint about turning off the domain name. Completely ignored that. They just turned the domain back on. Then they got to my later email and they sent me a email and said since you are going to file a chargeback on a VALID ORDER (not valid if they deleted it which I had emails to prove they did) they were suspending my entire account all three domains stopped working. They canceled the pending transfers of the domains to network solutions. I had to argue with them over emails for them to restore my service to all three domains. It took a bunch of going back and forth with me telling them and showing the email chain that they would absolutely lose a charge back fight and end up paying money to the merchant service. They reenabled all my services but had canceled my transfer requests to NetSol which then would not let me restart a transfer on the domains for 30 days. As soon as its humanly possible I will be moving my domains to Network Solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"They are still learning, at your expense"
What do you like best about NameSilo?

They haven't figured out the notice and warnings. I had set my domain to auto renew, I had entered my payment info, and they did not auto renew my domain. Fortunately, I was not on a vacation the day it happened. Apparently, you need to go to their renewal manager and put your payment info there and turn the auto renew there too.

when my domain went down, and I complained to their dupport do you know what they said? "that is the configuration that you didn't know but you put a blame on us" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

They are not user friendly. You will highly likely lose your domains with them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The refund policy is worst"
What do you like best about NameSilo?

They are approachable and responsive. Receive feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

They do not care about their customers. I transferred a domain name in 147$ and it got wasted (because the registry did not let it move) even though I asked for refund in less than 24 hours, they are denying the refund. Reason? Transfer is complete. This is weird logic, nobody wants to cancel a transfer before it has or has not made sense to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NameSilo?

UI makes sense, easy to use once you "get it", reasonable prices, not spammy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

The UI design is kind of old school, but at least it is fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not the biggest, but one of the best domain registrar companies"
What do you like best about NameSilo?

Namesilo has some of the best prices for domains compared to bigger companies. There's simple pricing with no hidden fees or upselling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

Their website user-interface can feel outdated or overwhelming. The main landing page is fine, but once you get logged in and go to account management, it looks like a website from the late 1990's and very busy looking. But if you know where to click, then you can accomplish what you want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent service, support, and experience!!"
What do you like best about NameSilo?

Our website was experiencing a conflict with email and website due to nameserver changes. Nii, the chat rep, helped explain the issue and was very helpful and friendly. I had to initiate a chat with our web hosting to confirm IP addresses, and she was super awesome to standby while I clarified the nameserver IPs. Since I was new to managing this, she was very patient and walked me through the process and clarifying each step and change made to make sure the records were added correctly. Thank you very much for all your help, Nii!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

So far, we haven't experienced anything that's unpleasant. As I continue to use their service, I'll update accordingly, if anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not the prettiest interface, but the cheapest around"
What do you like best about NameSilo?

What do you dislike about NameSilo?

It's not the prettiest user interface, but once you figure out what you are doing it goes very smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
