**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

If you are a managed services provider, this is an excellent software to have to manage workstations and servers to be able to monitor the PC's and servers to be able to see the stat's of the drives/CPU/memory. You can set thresholds to monitor the drives/ memory/ CPU. We also use it to run AntiVirus scans on the computers. You can also remote into the devices. You can also remove files remotely and transfer files as well. The Take Control option is very useful to be able to remote into the pc's and servers so that you can remote into the computers to be able to see what is going on to disgnose the computers. It has made my job as NOC technician very helpful at being able to troubleshoot and diagnose servers that we remotely manage for our customers. N-able has been very helpful and our customers are able to use it to remote into their computers as well if they are using a different computer from their work computer so it makes things a lot easier for them as well. They just go the website, and boom... they are in....

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Sometimes there will be updates that our admin pushes that causes it to throw a lot of alerts in our ticketing system but it typically will resolve itself so it tends to be a temporary issue.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using this tool to manage our customer's workstations. We also handle their servers. We set up thresholds and alerts to see if their disk space is getting low or disk usage is high. We also can tell if their memory is running low or cpu usage is high. Also, we can tell if the device is offline. We then alert them and let them know and they can mitigate the issue. We use it to run Anti-Virus scans on their computers and to see if there is any unusual activity on their computer.

  ### 7. it will be fixed in the next release...

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The monitoring templates out of the box are pretty complete and easy to deploy.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

It seems like the product is getting worse. With each issue, it seems like we work for hours with support to show them where the problem is, then they "escalate" it for a couple weeks and the response comes back that it will be fixed in the next version. One of the reasons someone would want to use NCentral is for the patch management. Patch management has had issues for the 2+ years that we have been on it. In the latest round, Microsoft released a patch out of band and it broke printing. We had blocked the patch, but it rolled anyways. Contacted support and they said we couldn't use NCentral to remove it. They gave us instructions on installing another patch - and their instructions were wrong. We had to go to reddit, grab a script, and modify it. Then NCentral wanted a copy of our script. Why isn't NAble sending out the script to all their customers since all of them are having this problem if they have certain printers in their environment?

In addition to that, it is supposed to integrate with EDR. (Sentinel 1) Today EDR flagged SolarWinds.Licensing.Framework.dll as being Malicious and killed it. I just upgraded to the latest version last night to fix the issue with EDR not deploying to machines automatically when the policy says to deploy automatically. I'm sure that will be fixed in the next version.....

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does generate alerts based on the templates like it is supposed to.

  ### 8. Good platform to monitor systems.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesus F. | TSC Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The overview of the system and the ability of organizing based on clients and sites.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The complexity of the design, it's a little hard to navigate the UI. But once you get the hang of it, and use the different settings often, you won't get lost in the UI.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Be prepared for a bit of a complicated start, but there's training videos to help you get on your feet, so don't be discouraged. Start with the training videos and work your way into making N-Central an integral part of your monitoring services.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alarms with the customers, Patch management on various clients as well as remote installation of applications, software updates and OS updates to all clients, as well as remote assistance to the various clients and sites of the clients in the platform.

  ### 9. A year into Ncentral

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colby J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Automated management - I am able to get everything to run well and then setup notifications for anything that has failed. I can do more work more efficiently than I was able to previously.

Take control is probably the best integrated remote access software I've ever used. It works very well regardless of bandwidth and PC power, it scales very well. The application control and command prompt integration work very well.

Linux monitoring actually works fairly well for our Linux servers.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The automation policies can be difficult to setup. Solarwinds backup, passportal and msp manager don't integrate very cleanly. The updates can be a little finicky. The support that solar winds provides is top notch if you give them a call.

Security Manager can be a pain to get installed without AD setup.

The whole premise of the stuff I dislike about solarwinds is all in the initial setup, after that it works great. I have not had any significant issues in months.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

I would highly recommend anyone looking for an RMM product to give solarwinds a shot I've been very happy with them for over a year.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure everything is running and up to date without having to dig through everything manually. I have taken probably an hour of work daily to get a portion of it done, to being able to make sure everything is getting done without much intervention. My daily time has been cut down to about 15 minutes.

This gives me more time during the day to focus on the stuff that I actually want to get done.

  ### 10. Great experience and great support to assist us.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francis L. | System Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

There is multiple ways to use N-Central be more efficient. The Automation Policy is great once you know how to use it. The dashboards have a great flexibility to be able to see what you want. Everything is in one website, antivirus, patch management, backup, etc. To be able to almost do what we want to control computers and servers remotely. You can put script you have already or create new ones and remotely push them without issue. We can easyly see what is the issue of every computer and server depending of what we want to see and what threshold we put.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

It is a little complex at first to understand every aspect of N-Central. The fact that you cannot separate screen when using the remote connexion from N-Central to a computer that has more than one monitor. It is not always easy to find the menu we want.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to do a lot more remotely without asking the user to control the computer. We are able to use script and automation policy to be efficient in our work day to day. We are able to remote connect without using another 3rd party software. We are able to find informations via N-Central that would be long to find otherwise or that we would have to remote connect to find.

  ### 11. Good, but hard to improve on

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

N-Central is easy to setup and maintain. The product itself is packed with features, and is great for remote monitoring. There has been numerous cases where time has been saved by being able to easily pull up device info or by using Take Control to access a device.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Unfortunately, you will quickly hit a limit with N-Central. After a certain point, you'll start to see that there is a lot of limitations behind N-Central. Tiny stuff - like being limited to a /18 on a discovery job, or not being able to save report settings in Report Manager. Or the fact that you can't configure different permissions for a sub-site for a site-user. The switch traffic sensor uses a hardcoded 100Mb/s up and down bandwidth, instead of using the actual detected port speed. There is a lot of stuff that is not configurable - stuff that has been hardcoded into N-Central for years. For certain things to be changed, it would literally require Solarwinds to edit the codebase. From an advanced/power user perspective, N-Central can be frustrating to administrate when trying to customize it to exactly your liking. Level 1 support is pretty much only able to reference KBs, and it is hard to get an escalation.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

N-Central is certainly worth a shot especially considering the free demos.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N-Central makes monitoring and remote management of end user devices and servers extremely easy. There is certain things that N-Central catches that could otherwise be missed - clock drift, services being stopped, missing patches, or AD replication status.

  ### 12. N-Central Built for MSP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

N-Central has given us the ability to increase revenue and provide top notch support for our clients. Many of clients are routinely audited. Since they have signed with us, passing patching, Microsoft and 3rd party audits are getting through.

We are finding the reporting and alerting features to be very useful. Reports are easily created and shared with our Managed Clients. The connection to our PSA ConnectWise helps us create tickets automatically that otherwise may have gone unnoticed.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Solarwinds Support requires improvement. Often we would have to reach out to our Account Manager to escalate issues. Even then, getting a good support representative would be a shot in the dark and if you did receive a good engineer, they are often not assigned to your case.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The level of customization allows our team to work effectively. We are able to monitor hundreds of nodes, multiple environments all within a single pane. This has increased our ability to sign additional clients without affecting the quality of work.

This allows our techs to work on higher level tasks for our clients.

  ### 13. So much feature

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean-Francois D. | it consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

AV-EDR and backup Integration. No need of third party console for AV and Backup

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Out of the box alertes notification. MSP need to fine tune them

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quicker customer onboarding

  ### 14. Bad Faith

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I was offered a $25 Amazon gift card to provide this review.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The company SolarWinds acts in bad faith. During the N-Central sign up process they offered us a free trial of another product. We tested the product very briefly and then never used it again. 12 months after starting our trial, and more than 10 months after the last time we used it, Solarwinds added this product to our invoice with no notification and billed us for one year (our new bookkeeper didn't' catch it). We didn't use the trial product with the exception of a short testing period, we didn't intend on signing up for a payable subscription and we were never notified of the extension of the term. When we pointed out the fact that we signed up for a FREE trial with a 1-year term, they pointed to some fine print saying "the subscription is billable and all credits are denied".

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Consider training.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are many other solutions out there, I suggest you look at them.

  ### 15. N-Central = Easy-Street

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Billy C. | Director Of Information Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I like the fact that everything is in one place. Easy to use and monitor.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

It is hard to find something to actually dislike about this product.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

We have used other products, like Kaseya. The SolarWinds N-central product is superior by far. Don't waste time and money, start with the best, because it works.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote management of all our customer endpoints in one screen and with just a few clicks. The benefit of being able to see any issues with a node verses just what we monitor.

  ### 16. Product works but has minor issues which cost extra time.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Most helpful is the over view of a customer location. We like being able to see and check the overall health of an environment. Look at software installed and at times remove software in the background. Managing patching has been helpful although see dislike section for more on this. Have take control integrated into the system makes working with our clients a snap as the remote access is already there. No need to walk customers though the process of install additional software. We like the scripting option to run scripts or processes on the systems.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

I really have two complaints about the product (one really isn't about the product as much as the model). First complaint is really centered on just the overall stability issues with patching. The patching system has been pretty glitchy over the last year. This has improved some over the last few updates but it has cost us lots of time getting this processes working with some level of confidence and even at that is still requires lots of baby sitting. Second issue is really about solarwinds model on this software. We had some clients downsize and as a result we had to remove some licenses. I think it is pretty ridiculous that it takes a month and a half (we removed licenses last week of august and the adjustment can't reflect until our October bill. I can add a license in day but removal is obviously designed because solarwinds expects/wants this to never happen. I get the model from your dollars and cents standpoint but it is designed to hurt your customers. We get it too we don't want to loose those anymore than you do but by forcing this model it forces us to approach you guys from a much more hostile mode.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Be prepared to spend some time setting up and learning the product. As will any highly flexible product there is lots of control and lots to learn at the same time.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has made it easy to build contracts around our support infrastructure. Overall I think it keeps a healthy, supportive, and engaged relationship with our customers. This was not always possible with the original break fix model.

  ### 17. Best RMM on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

It's so easy to see a birds eye view of what's wrong with any of your clients' devices and very easy to troubleshoot those issues, too. Right from the device list console you can access a command prompt, see services, processes, startup applications, printers, access the file system, and remote control to that device all from a search bar after login and with just a few clicks. It really doesn't get much easier than that.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

There's so much opportunity for customizing monitoring and automation that sometimes it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for. Documentation is a big help here and support has been pretty good with helping you find what you're looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Set it up and use it for a few months. I've used Connectwise Automate with another company and this is far better in ease of management for administrators and ease of use for technicians. I've used Continuum and Ninja RMM and our technicians struggled with both. The vast toolset that's made available through N-Central will make your business more efficient and may loosen some resources to take on other projects to help you grow your business.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're helping our clients get about the business of doing business. We want to enable them to achieve their goals without the technology barriers that many businesses face. Everyone has issues with technology. When they do have issues we want them to be able to communicate with us quickly so we can get them resolved quickly and efficiently. An easy to read interface coupled with easy to access tools make that kind of efficiency possible.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The ability to monitor and create tickets right in the dashboard as well as take control as any devices.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The way licensing is handled is a bit annoying.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Preforming upgrades on the server itself can come with issues. But support usually fixes any issues.

  ### 21. A product review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2021

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The user interface is very easy to navigate around once you get used to how it works.
It can be a bit overwhelling when learning.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

I wish the reporting was a tad easier to operate when first running them and not using templates.
Unable to copy folders to managed computers.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch management and software deployments.

  ### 22. Solarwinds N-Central Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I would say the automation manger is what I like best. There are a lot of options to customize and create script without needing extensive experience with powershell.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The only thing that I dislike is that sometimes it is hard to find certain features that I feel should be more easily accessible.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Make sure to take advantage of your on-boarding sessions; they are very helpful

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to have the automation's and run them remotely without even having to connect in to a customers computer has been very useful.

  ### 23. Use it daily for our Business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Monitoring remote networks devices with IP addresses. Access to in depth asset information and remote access.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Mobile version through APP store is not user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Will give you just about all the information you may need to get up to date health of a network device are some of the benefits.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connectivity issues, patch management and virus infections are just some...

  ### 24. product does what i need it to

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Howard M. | I.T. Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I can deploy patches with the click of a button. I can support my clients remotely very quickly. I can now deploy sentinel one with ease no longer do i have to remote into a computer to do so.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Patch 2.0 shows missing patches that i declined scewing my day to day checking of the clients. ALso no way to eliminate older patches that i do not wish to deploy because they may break certain applications.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can now deploy av by remote command line and the users never know i touched their pc. I can also support them fairly quickly

  ### 25. Solarwinds N-central

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The capabilities of what it can do. There is many canned monitors and scripts available for almost any scenario.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Navigation through the setup could be a little more fluid rather than jumping from tab to tab or link to link. If the settings can be on a singular page as a policy, that would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

None at this time

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less administrative work and more automated work

  ### 26. Worst software experience ever in my life

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2020

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The only good about SolarWinds N-Central is that it's a spinoff CentOS.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Everything. The product is huge and really uncomfortable to use. Support are sneaky guys: first; when I contacted one guy; he said to file "all my concirns" (about security of the product" as a separate issues in their ticket system. So I've used my time to do it and created 9 issues (NCentral is just large security hole that will allow everybody to just access your infrastructure and do whatever they want to). But then; I've got a contact from some guy from the "Escalation department", who said that I don't have to contact them directly (LOL) with any issues; rather to contact a RESELLER company or contact COMPANY WHERE I WORK. Lol. Then they banned my account where I asked my questions considering the security of the product. So my day is wasted. Never touch anything from this company.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Just don't use this software. If you bought it; ask for money back.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We tried to solve the windows updates and password control issues for the company internal hardware

  ### 27. Steep learning curve, bad interface, but smooth operation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew E. | IT, Computer Networking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Having everything setup and just running smooth

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The interface is very poor. Items are grouped in bad areas, there is no way to drag and drop to make your own menu. I really wish they would put some time into this. I also wish that when you right click and open in new tab, it doesn't auto open that tab. Be nice to open many machines and then tab through them. I also really hate how buggy the remote access is on the MACOS. I would really appreciate it if they could do dual screen to dual screen remote. All our clients have 2 monitors and its a pain to swap back and forth.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Take the time to learn early.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to automate companies makes our day to day operation very easy. Patch management is important for our company to stay compliant. We need this for the healthcare clients of ours. I like how quickly we can find a computer to examine. On our old Atera RMM, it was very slow and we could not easily move between companies.

Another benefit to us is the pricing structure. It is expensive to pay per machine, but when the clients need to remote on to their machines, it is really nice to create a user for free and give them access to the devices they need.

  ### 28. Very powerful IT automation platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy J. | Network Operations Center Engineer, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The thing I like most about N-Central is the ability to tailor it to your needs. If it were a cellphone it would be Android, if it were an operating system it would be Linux. The sheer amount of power to customize for your unique setup, at a global level, a client level, or even an individual device level is unreal. The patching engine works reasonably well, the integrated AV Defender is super easy to deploy and maintain. The built-in remote connect tool works great for our technicians. We've actually moved from primarily using TeamViewer to primarily using Take Control.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

All of that customization comes at the price of complexity. I'm the "N-Able guy" for our company because I'm the one that's taken the (quite extensive) amount of time to learn all the ins-and-outs of the product. I'm still certain there are better solutions to our configuration; more automation that we could have the system do rather than our helpdesk technicians, but as is often the case: you don't know what you don't know... and N-Central has a lot of stuff going on to know.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

N-Central is a very powerful product. It will take some time to learn all the features available and how they interact with other parts of the system and other systems outside of N-Central itself. You should probably consider having a person on your staff dedicated to championing this program to get the most out of it.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The notification and PSA integration has allowed us to really hone in on ticket creation. There are some things that N-Central monitors by default that we frankly just don't care about. There are other things that N-Central doesn't know how to monitor by default and we had to teach it how. Over the years, we've been able to really curate the amount of tickets created by the system, where they go, what priority they are given, etc. We think we've found a great balance in keeping our clients happy without driving ourselves crazy trying to make every network picture perfect.

We're also just now getting into more automation routines and having the system automatically try and repair more of our problems before the ticket gets to a technician.

  ### 29. Feature Rich and Powerful RMM platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas D. | Systems Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The patch management and automation manager in N-Central are much better than other RMM demos i've done. The amount of granularity with rules and permissions etc is wonderful as well.

AutoTask PSA integration is WONDERFUL and perfect for ticketing and device exports / making configuration items. Ticketing recipients feature to have many different types of ticket configurations is invaluable for us.

Report Manager's Executive Report is also invaluable for us and the report manager replacement is on our wish list.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The time it takes for rollout of quality of life features and new features is very slow.

There are many quality of life features such as advanced filters (like how you target for alerts in NPM, NCM etc) or being able to do bulk activities like device asset info gathering, or customizing the all devices view with more columns with asset information is necessary.

The speed of page loads is very slow, and direct support tools are almost useless, because of speed and disconnects.

I would like there to be better support for deploying Feature Updates, maybe build in automation policies or scripts to help deploy and run those upgrades in a way other than through Patch Management.

Support engineers via chat can be very painful to get information from, it's very hit or miss with the overseas support.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

While there is quite a large learning curve, N-Central is very powerful and more capable than other RMM platforms. The community with other partners is great and north america based support are awesome.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are monitoring and ticketing on many devices for our customers and providing proactive maintenance and support instead of just reactionary support.

Also providing engineers a view/dashboard for active events and easy ability to remotely work on devices, deploy scripts, behind the scenes things.

Automation via powershell scripts and automation manager are very very beneficial and saves us time and makes out bottom line better.

  ### 30. Very good tool for managing your MSP client base.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ethan F. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The most important thing is to be able to see the health of all of your clients at any time. To be able to jump into the different client machines and do things remotely (without having to roll a truck) is invaluable.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

That you have to have a pro license for the advanced features. The majority of ours are essential device so they do not have all of the cool features that are mentioned so often in all of the advertising.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Almost all of our help desk tickets are worked remotely and within minutes. That is the biggest benefit. The ability to see our clients screens and see what issue they are experiencing in real time has transformed the way we work. We solve all issues from slow computers, printing problems, restarting services, being able to remote in from home for the client, etc.

  ### 31. Great features and functionality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James B. | Enterprise Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

We use NCentral as our core RMM application, deployed across hundreds of clients and thousands of systems. It works very well for us to handle monitoring, management, automated tasks and scripts, managed antivirus, patching, etc. We’ve been using it for years and are quite happy with it.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The patching system can be problematic. It generally works fine, but once in a while we run into issues with how patches are deployed. I’d also like to see a Linux probe.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

If you are an MSP, check out NCentral for your RMM needs.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is one of our core applications, so it is used extensively by everyone. Technicians and engineers use it for management and support. Sales uses it for inventory reports. NOC uses it for alerts, patching, etc. All in all it is uses for resolving tons of problems.

  ### 32. Took the Automation Bootcamp training and was very pleased.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert G. | Managed Services Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The training was focused towards beginners and gave me a good perspective on how to add automation into my N Central day to day life.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

During some of the the timed labs, other participants would ask unrelated questions during the lab, and it proved to be a little distracting.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Great product for MSPs and Managed IT services companies, once you get the hang of it. Great on boarding and technical support and very good training material and online sessions as well.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating repeat support issues or self healing options for common problems in our client base. Can definitely be a time save and easy reactive way to address issues.

  ### 33. Strengths/Weaknesses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor N. | Field Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The most helpful tool within N-Central would have to be the report manager and to have the ability to install probes on a network to pick up diagnostics of prospects current network configuration for a period of 30 days or so then the ability to print the report and consult with the client all of strengths/weaknesses.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Do not currently have a dislike on this product

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the power of N-Central I am able to sit with a copier client that I have and explain to them that I have tools that could provide a current network report that will grade their current IT providers work and talk about a more proactive service rather than client currently calling support for break fix updates and antivirus.

  ### 34. Best RMM platform I have used to date.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Drake S. | Technical Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I like the ease of use of the system. All of the functions are easy to implement and the knowledge base and product support is always spot on. 9 times out of 10 I am able to resolve issues without picking up the phone and calling support.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

One of the main things I dislike about the software is the menu layout. I feel that they could be a bit more intuitively. I would also like to see a "favorites" section where I can put my most frequently used options.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using N-central to solve many issues. The main out being Patch management. Another big problem N-central has helped us solve is Staffing constraints by using automations to help complete menial tasks.

  ### 35. The best RMM I have ever used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris T. | Senior Field Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Take Control was the feature that first caught my eye with N-Central. It was far better and faster than the remote control feature of the RMM we were using before.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The mobile app could be better. Remote sessions on mobile are never great but N-Central's is not as intuitive as other mobile remote apps like Splashtop or Team Viewer.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Ask about getting a trial set up, once you get your hands on it you won't want to go back.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use N-Centrals maintenance windows to run weekly maintenance tasks on our customers computer that has prevented many issues that we would get calls about normally. It helps us keep our clients systems running smooth without us ever having to lift a finger.

  ### 36. Long time admin of N-central

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

N-central is very robust in the products it can monitor. We have had big success in the ability to create our own automation and SNMP monitoring of new products we have started using. When patch management was released with the product it saved us hours of time being able to automate patch management.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

-Support has been lacking in recent years. It has been hard to get a good tech to help with support tickets. There have been cases where it has taken a very long time to get support when a ticket gets put in and also just getting straight resolution for it.
-The Mac Support with this product lacks a lot. We have problems with the agents dropping out as well as a bug support has identified with us that makes it so we can not use a discovery to add Mac devices to the server. It seems to merge new devices with existing devices in device list.
-Linux support is lacking
-Where is the linux probe?

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall management and monitoring of all of our clients devices. Giving us the ability to more accurately support our clients remotely or even in the office.

  ### 37. Mature product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Monitoring and automation is all what I needed in my life. N-Central was able to provide this to me since 2012

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Lots of new features in the last 2 years was less impressive that the one we had the years before. I however heard that some new exciting features was on the way. I am under the impression however that with the exception of the patch management, the existing feature are not getting enough love from your developper. Network monitoring for instance lack of features and doesn`t work very well. For example, it can detect a port speed in the monitor but won`t adjust the monitoring accordingly, pushing 100mbits by default. Those are in my opinion some quick fix that would make more enjoyable the monitoring. Having the ability to create our own SNMP monitoring is great, but I wish there was more built-in support for many device. We have to put a lot of effort ourself in the SNMP monitoring.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is included. Monitoring, Patch Management, Scripting, Deployment, etc. A very useful product.

  ### 38. Essential MSP software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig M. | Senior Technician , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Everything is clearly laid out and its incredibly easy to manage my customers. Amazing support have provided fast solutions to any challenges I've experienced.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

There are limited capabilities for mobile device management. No remote access available for mobile devices.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My customers are able to receive patches and antivirus software through Ncentral. I'm able to remotely connect to their computers if they encounter any issues that they need IT support with.

  ### 39. N-Central

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

it lets us do a lot, we can monitor, connect remotely, manage AV and patches

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

reporting can use more tlc, for example detailed asset report

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

try it

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we manage AV, patching, monitor devices and use it connect remotely

  ### 40. Ncentral makes my day easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn D. | Managed Services Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The best thing about Ncentral is being able to be on top of issues as soon as they happen.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Occasionally their are bugs that are inconvenient.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Network topology mapping and network device management is coming soon. It's getting even better!

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Common hardware failures, Server maintenance. just about everything in the infrastructure we try to monitor it with Ncentral.

  ### 41. N-Central, the easy way to monitor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nelson s. | Senior Apple Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I like that n-Central gives me a single pane of glass to monitor all the endpoints across the 1,000 that we have.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

So far the only dislike I have is the reporting feature. When we were being on boarded, the sales team did not inform us that having it on prem would give us the reports that we needed to present to our clients.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to keep a better eye on our client's endpoints and inform them of issues that they are having. And it also allows us to automate patches saving us time.

  ### 42. Excellent RMM Tool for MSP's

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

The best feature for me is the ability to monitor anything and everything on an endpoint, utilizing pre-configured monitors or even by scripting your own. Building on that, I can then automate actions based on the monitoring. It really makes endpoint management simple and more effective.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Sometimes, too much can be a lot to handle. I believe that the sheer depth of the product can sometimes make it more difficult for new-hires to learn and get fully acquainted with,

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Make sure to really grasp all that N-Central can accomplish. Come up with a plan on how to implement the many features that the software offers.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N-Central has helped me tackle the tedious day-to-day operations of the IT Helpdesk by giving me the tools to tackle the issues with ease. Automation is key!

  ### 43. Amazing product, deserving of the time to learn it.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Device management, remote support and control, and being able to establish an audit trail after the fact.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Built in reporting features are very basic, text based format and doesn't tell much. Leaves quite a bit to be desired. (ex. AV defender scans)

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

Do your research, and don't be embarrassed to ask questions. No one is perfect, but looking at where you can use N-Central to improve as well as to maintain is important to developing your business.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patching and monitoring of services and resources without the need to physically access it or remote into it. The option to build automated responses and scripts, as well as to provide a quick, comprehensive look of customers, sites, and the devices within are a great benefit.

  ### 44. N-Central is a great "all-inone" management platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I love the asset visibility and manageability the N-Central platform provides. From a sales perspective, I can pull reports for my quarterly reviews, asset planning and performance counters to help with these business planning meetings. Our technical team uses it for remote control and all their tech support needs. The integration of components like A/V gives us one pane of glass to push software and manage our clients.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

Some components still use Java which is all but phased out of mainstream. I believe SolarWinds is also phasing it out as well so this will not be an issue shortly.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility to the network is the biggest gain from my perspective. Seeing a client site overview is invaluable to me from a sales standpoint.

  ### 45. RDP and Automation Tool Set

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig B. | Engineer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

RDP is great and best in the industry. Automation tools are there to develop.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The stalemate on developing automation tools while waiting for user feedback to guide development. The Automation Manager UI is not intuitive and a has a substantial learning curve that the guide videos make worse at times due to length of time needed to learn.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All end station management and repair issues that can be done remotely.
RDP for access to machines during remote patching and firmware upgrades.
A lot.

  ### 46. Great monitoring tools for multiple clients

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** chris m. | senior consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

Multi tenet. Allows you to monitor, take control, deploy AV, run backups all from one interface. Automated patching. Automation manager allows the ability to cut out tasks.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

user interface is clunky. Steep learning curve to get a handle on it. Can be intimidating at first.

**Recommendations to others considering N-able N-central:**

This is certainly a great tool. The take control feature is great for remotely assisting users at client locations.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

managing multiple clients through one interface. Managing backups, patching, general service tasks for all clients.

  ### 47. Great Product, Easy to Market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colleen G. | Product Marketing | Marketing Strategy | Content Development, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

N-Central is great. As a Product Marketing Manager for an MSP, I find it easy to explain the business value of N-Central, to train staff, and create marketing materials for the product. We love the "one pane of glass" aspect.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

The product starts capping out at around 25,000 seats, so we have to spin up new instances

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yes. We solve many business problems with N-Central for our customers including one of the biggest issues, risk management.

  ### 48. A comprehensive solution geared towards MSPs of all sizes.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David P. | Mr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

N-Central offers a great way to integrate a number of services (remote management, backups, patching, etc) in to a single pane of glass.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

There is limited mobile device and Apple (Mac) support at this time.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest pieces we have been taking avatar of recently is the centralized scripting and automation. This saves our techs significant amounts of time to accomplish some of the repetitive tasks they encounter.

  ### 49. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike B. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about N-able N-central?**

I really like the fact that I have all the information I need in one place. I can tell at a glance, the specifications, age and status of the equipment.

**What do you dislike about N-able N-central?**

RDP Interface in Ncentral is lacking functionality.

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the details in one place has increased the response time to resolve our customers issues by not requiring us to search multiple systems to get the information needed.

  ### 50. N-Central for the masses

If you are looking for a powerful granular RMM, this is it! With so many features built in and so many add-on capabilities, the possibilities are endless!

**What problems is N-able N-central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes there are some bugs with new releases, but overall its solid
