"Powerful Email Tracking That Makes Follow-Ups Easier"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

The most helpful tool in Muck Rack is being able to see what email pitches have been opened and clicked. This makes my follow-up emails so much easier, more efficient, and accurate. Email integration has been incredibly powerful when it comes to publicity performance. I'm able to support each campaign I work on and track the contacts I've onboarded, pitched, and secured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I have had some issues when it comes to follow-ups however. That would be the main concern or dislike. Oftentimes, I have to manually do my follow-ups because when I use the Muck Rack system for them, it removes my personalization from the first email I am following. "Experiencia Intuitiva con Pequeños Desafíos de Gestión"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Muck Rack: Detailed Media Insights, Fast Performance, and a User-Friendly Interface"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

What I like most about Muck Rack is the level of detail it provides on media outlets and media contacts, along with a very easy-to-navigate interface when doing so. Muck Rack performs top-notch, with speed and bookmarklet integrations that make it a well-oiled media machine. I also appreciate that the internal team works diligently to keep everything up to date, and when I send a query about potential updates, they're always prompt to respond and update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The recent AI updates appear helpful, but it would be great to have a bit more insight into the benefits and overall usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Up-to-Date Media Database with Easy Chat Updates and Automated Coverage Tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

The fact that Muck Rack has the most up-to-date media database is the number one reason I prefer it over other SaaS competitors. I also appreciate the chat feature, which makes it easy to request media profile updates, as well as the automated coverage tracking that simplifies reporting. The integrated UVM data from SEMRush is also helpful and stays current. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The cost feels quite high for an individual user like me, and not every journalist-published story pulls into a media person’s profile. It also seems like there are certain publications where Muck Rack consistently misses coverage. On top of that, when an older article gets updated by a publication, the system doesn’t update the publish date, which then forces me to make manual fixes in my reports. Sometimes when I search a journalist's name natively, nothing comes up, but when I search in Google, their Muck Rack profile appears in the results. There have also been several occasions where there are duplicate profiles for no apparent reason that I have to reconcile with support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack’s automated coverage tracking, up-to-date media database and integrated UVM data are helping simplify reporting. It’s also great to hear the chat feature has made it easy to keep media profiles current.

We appreciate your feedback on missed coverage, article updates, search and duplicate profiles. We’re actively evolving our monitoring with a smarter approach to coverage curation that will reduce missed mentions, better account for updated articles and improve overall relevance. If you come across duplicate or outdated profiles, you can click "Request update" on the journalist profile to flag it for our data team. We’ll also pass your feedback on pricing and native search along to our product team. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

"Clear, Insightful Publication & Journalist Data in an Easy-to-Use Interface"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

In Muckrack, I love the ability to search up any publication and be immediately able to tell their reach, UVPM, how many people they reach physically, and where they're based out of. Alongside that, I also love the ability to do the same with journalists and get all the information I need. I never realized how helpful it was to get such information in an interface that is easy to read and understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The AI features on Muckrack need some work. I have tried on multiple occasions to build media lists with the AI feature, but it feels like it never gives me the type of people I am looking for. I also try to add specifications to my prompts to help the AI, that makes the list more confusing in the end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Tool with Room for Improving Relevance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I use Muck Rack for synthesizing media lists, researching journalists, and reaching out to reporters. The product's initial setup was very easy, which I appreciate. I also like that the search filter works well in a query. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The refinement in Muck Rack is not always great, as it takes an extra step to go to a journalist's page via their media organization to ensure they are a part of the correct beat. Also, the outreach feature is often caught by spam filters, which is frustrating. The search filter works well for queries, but not so much for people, and it does not work all of the time. Additionally, the relevancy aptitude could be improved, particularly in querying the correct national security journalists reporting on specific topics like space or political reporters focused on election security. I also frequently have to reformat exported media lists as well as the ones I import, which can be a hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential PR Tool with Reliable Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I use Muck Rack at a PR agency to find journalists and build lists for outreach. It's easy to use, and the database is fairly reliable. I appreciate that they have a team who goes out and researches contact info when I ask them to, which is nice. Muck Rack helps in easily creating lists of reporters, editors, and other media contacts, offering a platform to reach those contacts and track engagement. I find the media monitoring and reporting features make things easier as well. The initial setup was pretty easy, and overall, it's a reliable tool. I'd rate it a 9 out of 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

While it's easy to add a list of contacts to a particular pitch, I can't remove an entire list's worth of contacts from a pitch. I have to do it individually. That can take time, especially if I realize I added the wrong list or realize that it's not the set of contacts I want. This is a narrow criticism, and there may be a way to do this that I am unaware of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Journalist Filtering and Outreach in Muck Rack"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

The most helpful thing about Muck Rack is being able to filter out journalists and being able to contact them via the website. The worst part is needing different subscriptions to access materials Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The least helpful thing is having to get used to the website before you can do anything. And the lack of features if you don't pay more for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Solution with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I find Muck Rack to be really comfortable as an all-in-one solution that covers all the different aspects any in-house PR team would need. It's great because we didn't need to go out to the market to source multiple different tools; we have one platform that does the job. From finding journalists to pitching stories and identifying trends, Muck Rack covers everything we need. The initial setup was very easy with a nice, smooth handover from sales through to customer success, making it pretty flawless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The database isn't always as up to date as it could be, which is a challenge with journalists moving around so frequently and job losses in the industry. The database can also be a bit US-centric, though I think that's improving. Additionally, there is a need for an API to integrate data points and analysis into other tools as part of our tech stack. An API is available but it's quite expensive, so having it for free or as part of a premium package would be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
