I appreciate that it is good for early ideas and also for big, complex designs. We use it for mapping processes, customer journeys and workshops too. The tool is flexible for every use case, not rigid.

Because of the templates and real-time co-editing, we are much faster from idea to implementation. This fits well with our digital transformation and AI goals. I don’t have big issues with Miro, but a few things slow us down in complex projects.

Large boards can get heavy when many teams work at the same time, especially in workshops with lots of files. Performance is okay, but not always smooth.

Also, some integrations feel one-way. For us, a real two-way sync with Jira or Confluence would be better to remove manual steps.

Exporting boards to documentation still requires extra formatting. It works, but it is not fully automatic.

When others haven't heard about Miro, and it is another new tool it is a heavy lifting to convince to use it also, when preparing for a meeting and using miro with people who have never used it it is a challenge. When it comes to the usability, some navigability issues espcially when it comes to dragging objects and resizing it is not so intuitive as it could have been. Also tools for project management could have been clearer to make sure to take a full advantage. There is a lot of features but difficult to use without the knowledge of them. Because not many people use the tool, frequency of usage is sometimes lost - usually I use it once a week but need to remember in order to go fully make it a habit. I find Miro extremely valuable for visualizing my university work better than other options I've tried. Its usefulness in mind mapping is unparalleled, particularly because I can add an A4 frame per topic and easily export and print them, which is excellent for revising away from devices. The arrows to connect elements are too eager, and I wish there was a toggle in the board settings to use the 'automatic arrow' feature or not. This issue arises mainly when collaborating with people who are new to Miro. Additionally, new users often move frames around a lot, and I wish it were more challenging to move them—perhaps requiring a double-click—without locking, since I frequently need to resize them, especially during brainstorming sessions.
