What I like best about Microsoft OneDrive for Business is that it fits naturally into the Microsoft 365 workflow we already use every day. It works well with Windows, File Explorer, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint, so saving, opening, editing, and sharing files feels simple and familiar. The File Explorer integration is one of the biggest benefits. I can work with cloud files almost like normal local folders, while still having online access, backup, and version history. This is very useful for business documents, Excel files, PDFs, templates, and shared folders that multiple people need to access. I also like the collaboration features. Instead of sending many versions of the same file by email, we can share links, work from the same document, and use version history when something is changed by mistake. This saves time and reduces confusion. From a performance point of view, OneDrive is reliable most of the time, and the sync is very useful when switching between computers or working with files connected to SharePoint and Teams. The offline access is also helpful when I need to keep working without depending completely on the browser. The return on investment is good because it is already part of the Microsoft 365 environment, and it reduces the need for separate file-sharing tools. Onboarding is also easy because most users already understand Windows folders and Microsoft Office. I do not use the AI features heavily in OneDrive itself, but the search, recent files, and Microsoft 365 integration make it easier to find and reuse the right documents quickly. The main thing I dislike about Microsoft OneDrive for Business is that sync issues can sometimes be hard to understand and troubleshoot. Most of the time it works well, but when there is a sync conflict, a file not updating, or a folder not appearing correctly, it is not always clear right away what is causing the problem. Permissions can also be confusing, especially when files are connected between OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and external users. It can be hard for regular users to know whether they are sharing a personal OneDrive file, a SharePoint folder, or a Teams document library. This can create confusion when trying to give access to the right people without over-sharing. Another downside is that the interface is split between Windows File Explorer, the browser version, Teams, and SharePoint. All of them are connected, but they do not always feel like one simple system. For onboarding new users, some training is still needed so they understand where files are stored and how sharing works. I also think the search and AI/intelligence features could be stronger. It is possible to find recent files, but when there are many folders, shared documents, and SharePoint locations, finding the exact file can still take time. Before using it, files could easily become duplicated or outdated, especially when multiple people needed access to the same Excel files, PDFs, templates, or shared documents. With OneDrive, we can keep files in one cloud location, access them from different computers, and share links instead of sending attachments back and forth. This makes collaboration much easier and reduces confusion about which file is the most recent version. It also helps with backup and file recovery. If a computer has an issue, or if a file is changed by mistake, the file is still available online and version history can help recover previous work. That gives more confidence when working with important business documents. The biggest benefit is time saved in daily work. Most of my files are backed up automatically as well, so I worry less about data loss. If I make a mistake, I can quickly restore an older version. Working in a large team, we found it difficult to organize everything regarding the tracking of work done by the team members efficiently and struggled with multiple files scattered across emails and local system. OneDrive is acting as a centralized hub for file storage for the entire team. It makes collaboration and tracking easier, this is where all the common files are added along with monthly work reports. Also, the feature to allow access/permission to selected members to edit or modify a file is useful for personal or private files. The UI/UX is very intuitive, enabling drag and drop facility and uploading/creating files made easy. Very helpful for daily use and easy access of frequently used files online. I mostly use OneDrive to integrate with Power automate to modify files. Since it is part of Microsoft 365, provides good value for money through good storage, ease of collaboration and security in one platform.
