**What do you like best about Maxio?**

I really enjoy how user-friendly and intuitive the platform is to locate insights about customer information and their billing. I use it pretty frequently, and would feel very comfortable onboarding a new team member to it. 

Whenever I have questions or need additional support, I've been super impressed with the Maxio Customer Support team. They respond quickly and thoroughly and are always on-hand for additional follow-up questions.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

It would be helpful if it was easier to edit/review the emails sent to customers through the Maxio platform. They seem to be harder to edit in the platform than on other platforms.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxio gives me an overview about customer subcriptions and previous billing. I use it frequently throughout each day, and I honestly don't know what I'd do without it.

Powerful tool to automate both invoicing and RevRec for SaaS subscriptions. Once you get the hang of the interface and have a good implementation to fit your business and products, great tool. Quality customer support. Good integration with Stripe for payment application.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Sometimes too complicated for intended use (ex - a simple JE would fix this but not allowed given the integrity of the transaction versus revenue and invoicing).

Manual spreadsheets for revenue recognition and contract management (including price increases).

**What do you like best about Maxio?**

Easy to navigate, located, and review invoices. I have used Maxio as a support team member and a CSM and found it completely adequate.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Lack of itemized invoice in the way our company uses the platform. I am lead to believe that although we can export this data it is difficult (and maybe not possible) to have it customer facing in monthly invoices.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our customers are billed monthly (a small amount quarterly) through Maxio. Maxio does well charging a range of different plan types our company offers. We have subscription, percentage based, hybrid, and special rules (ex. $100 subscription unless fees are higher or vise versa) and Maxio helps support all.

The ability for me to view and monitor a customer's billing history is important for my role. And assists with the overall account review.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

The search function is often tricky to master, with difficulty in returning the results I am looking for.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the visibility issue you could have for customer subscriptions if you did not use Maxio. This allows me to have a holistic view on a customers billing profile and history etc.

I like the interface for creating subscriptions and the amount of options around getting them setup.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

The lines between the products are obvious and the integration is clunky at best. To get an invoice all the way through the process it has to be synced from the Chargify interface to the SaasOptics interface and then it has to be synced to Quickbooks. Each sync can be fraught with peril…

Ease of use and it allows for good tracking of all necessary information

Payments gets hung up in processing for months and there is no good way to resolve issues.  The Live Chat allows us to initiate an issue but the follow through is unacceptable.  They keep trying to close the tickets we open without resolving them.

MAXIO has been successful in allowing us better tracking of our client service fees and payments.

**What do you like best about Maxio?**

I love the ability to create contracts, set billing dates and forget about it.  The additional collections features are great too.  I am able to create custom email templates for any and all situations that can be used by anyone, which eases delegation tasks.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

While I like a lot of the reporting options and features, the user experience feels clunky at times.  Also, the sync with QBO is not straight forward.  Some things sync automatically, some things won't sync after a certain event, and some information does not sync or update in Maxio.  In full disclosure, I was not involved in the setup so that could be some of the issue.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxio has automated our subscription billing and saves a lot of time not having to manually create and update each customers invoice every year.  The revenue reporting features have also helped to save a lot of time and reduce the number of spreadsheets that have to be updated each month for us to calculate CARR.  The e-invoicing function that integrates with our existing AR email has been a fantastic tool as well.

The ability to update invoices and add services. It is really easy to use and was simple to implement. The customer service is also excellent. I use Maxio at least weekly and it has been a great asset for the team.

How our micro account is under the main account it can be confusing when operating within the system.

Maxio tracks our subscription services and billing for those subscriptions.

I appreciate the support/help whenever there is an issue. The team is very specialized in helping our team with custom solutions/walk arounds. We've successfully implemented our subsidiary billing with ease.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

There is concern about the high costs of renewal and uplift YoY. Which has been a significant increase since starting a second account for our subsidiary company (which has very minimal usage compared to Parent Company account). However, we are in contact with the Billing Representative and they've been very responsive in reducing this cost to us (not yet resolved).

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently solving the metrics reporting of ARR, there are minor adjustments but it is easy to reconcile month over month.

**What do you like best about Maxio?**

We use Maxio to handle billing for our telehealth company, and it has been an excellent solution. The platform is very easy to use and highly manageable, even for those new to it. During training, I was able to navigate our portal seamlessly, which made onboarding much smoother. Overall, Maxio has simplified our billing processes and helps us operate more efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

One small issue is the side navigation panel—it’s easy to accidentally click out of the billing account if you're not paying close attention. I've also seen feedback from others that the reporting features could be more customizable, and that support response times can vary depending on the issue.

There is not much flexibility in case of B2B invoices.

I am struggling to understand the new VAT system, particularly when it comes to using the Prefix. No matter what I try, the VAT status always remains unvalidated, even though Vies confirms that the VAT is valid.

I live in the data between Salesforce and Maxio. Using both raw data in our data lake + the actual Maxio platform, it's very easy to identify where to look for differences and why they might be present.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Reporting is very difficult and time consuming. There isn't a lot of customization and it's annoying that you have to run/save a completely different report to make a small tweak for a one-time change (i.e. using a report that shows current period and you want to quickly run the same report but for prior period)

Maxio is a perfect complement to Salesforce's downsides

I love that the ARR rollforward is accurate and realtime.  If you set it up correctly, you can slice and dice it anyway you need. For a SMB SaaS company, ARR is your life blood and they nailed it.

They also have great support. 

The auto billing feature saved us a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

For some reason the reports are slower to load. The stuff they bought through acquisitions isn't fully integrated either.

We use this as a source of truth for all revenue aspects. From bookings to retention. The automations have saved us tremendous cost.

Maxio is an essential component of my accounting and sales process tech stack. It's relatively easy to use and it integrates well with all of my other applications.

I think it's a little more expensive than it should be.

It definitely solves the revenue recognition hurdle, and for billing it's my source of truth.

I have been a Maxio user for over 7 years in some capacity. I love the ability for customers to have a billing portal to update their information and grab invoices as needed, as well as the KPI tracking for important SaaS Metrics.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Implementation with Maxio can be a heavy lift depending on the systems you are coming from, but it tends to pay off in the long run for diligence/audit requests.

**Recommendations to others considering Maxio:**

Jumping on board with a product with SaaSoptics will help save time in your finance department for a fraction of the cost of other systems.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxiohas helped us with month end revenue recognition and tracking our accounts receivable more regularly. We have been able to automate accounts receivable follow ups after invoices go unpaid, and customize the logic depending on whether they pay via a card or another method.

We track all of our contracts and revenue recognition in Maxio.  I like the way it bills everything out and I can recognize my revenue

The maximum number of characters in the "email" field is too low — sometimes I need to include many email addresses and I can’t.

The Maxio platform is easy to use and I love the import process.  The imports allows me to make corrections to transactions, invoices, and invoice line, something that is not always available on other platforms.

As a SaaS company, managing subscriptions, billing cycles, and revenue recognition can be incredibly complex, but Maxio has made this process straightforward. It gives us a detailed ARR by customer, by product.

Partner/child relationships not available - e.g. resller needs one invoice with all end customers. Maxio can't do that automatically - need to upload separate transactions in a child register.

**What do you like best about Maxio?**

Lower price point vs. comparable options.  On the surface seemed like great value had they been able to deliver.  Probably okay for simple business, but our global business proved to be too complex.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Several issues:
- Implementation team was inexperienced learning on the job.  Trial and error vs. recommending solutions.  
- Difficulties handling historical data syncs due to customized fields for Avalara Sales Tax causing improper display of invoice data from NetSuite.
- Salesforce to Maxio orders only synced one way (i.e. SF to Maxio).
- Maxio cannot update at the order level for invoice status/information and can only display info on the account level.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to eliminate manual duplicate entry in both Salesforce and NetSuite SuiteBilling.  The implementation failed, so no benefit.

Maxio is incredibly easy to use and learn. As a part of my job I am responsible for managing subscriptions, but that is not my core focus, so having an easy platform allows me to focus on my core responsibilities instead of getting stuck working on billing issues. I specifically like how easy it is to access the customer payment links to send when people want more information about their personal accounts with us.

The auto-renew options sometimes charge people before they are ready to renew and that can cause complications or result in refunds.

Maxio helps us manage our renewals and subscriptions, making it easy to generate immediate revenue from clients and makes onboarding new clients much faster.

The system is easy to use and intuitive. It has good API connectors allowing for automation between different systems (Salesforce, Quickbooks, etc).

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

The Rev Rec 606 functionality isn't as robust as I would like. We have very complex revenue recognition and creating the SSP listing has proven to be a challenge as the capabilities are limited. Similarly, the reporting functonality needs to be better built out for 606 capabilites. Reporting functonalities should also be enhanced to run mid month or specific day reporting.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxio is our source of truth for revenue recognition, invoicing, and ARR reporting. We have a direct integration with SalesForce which pushes in our contract information allowing for automation. We also have a direct integration with Quickbooks which allows seamless accounting.

What I like best about Maxio is its powerful blend of subscription management and revenue recognition automation - it saves time and sanity. The platform’s integrations and reporting tools make it easy to scale without duct-taping spreadsheets together. Plus, they’ve actually managed to make financial ops somewhat enjoyable.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Maxio can feel a bit clunky when navigating between modules—especially if you’re juggling billing, rev rec, and analytics. The UI isn’t exactly winning design awards, and some legacy quirks from the Chargify/SaaSOptics merger still linger. Also, their customization options are limited unless you’re ready to get cozy with their API or shell out for support.

I like the revenue schedules that Maxio shows and its ability to track customer future payments using the promise to pay feature.

**What do you dislike about Maxio?**

Subscription changes take a long time to perform and do not integrate correctly with accounting software. Each month, we have to manually balance all transactions that are rounding errors for FX. This is time-consuming, and there should be an option to bulk balance for FX.

**What problems is Maxio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxio is trying to solve the syncing to and from our accounting system as this does not work flow properly. It would be beneficial to have this solved to avoid duplicating work around contract subsciption amendments and adjustments.

Limited options for connecting Salesforce objects. It feels a bit restrictive, especially when you want more flexibility in how you map and sync data across different objects. It would be great if there were more customisation options to make the integration work even better for specific use cases.

It solves the problem of our manual billing process. It automates a lot of the repetitive tasks, like generating invoices and managing subscriptions, which saves us a ton of time.
