What do you like best about Lockbox LIMS?

Lockbox worked closely with our team to understand our processes and procedures, then created flows for our very unique and complex testing environment. Training our team has been straightforward, with most parts of the workflow mastered in a few training sessions, and if there are issues or we have questions, Janine and Sita are quick to reply and help us resolve the issue.

An update (17-Feb-2026): we have gone through several system updates, including a full version update, and Lockbox continues to meet our needs. These updates have been relatively easy to implement around the existing workflows, with a minimum of stress. Over the years our partnership has become even more one of collaboration rather than a service as they have shared more knowledge of the inner workings of Lockbox, and I have really appreciated the opportunity to actively participate in improvement efforts.

The team uses Lockbox every day to document what work has been or will be done, and what results need to be reported. This gives high visibility to the entire team as to what our current capacity is to start new projects, as well as monitoring throughput. What do you dislike about Lockbox LIMS?

I wish more time had been dedicated to helping our company learn more about the admin side of things, the platform is relatively straightforward but because there are so many settings it can be difficult to navigate.

An update (17-Feb-2026): The issues reporting system gives control to the user in classifying what type of issue a problem is, and this has led to some confusion on what is classified as tech support, and what would be considered a new feature requiring additional funding. What problems is Lockbox LIMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Lockbox is the first LIS we have used for our workflow; before that we were creating paper reports, with no way to track changes or audit historical tests. Having Lockbox means that we can ensure that we are reporting the right results on the right patient, track what samples are in our queue and what stage they are at, and upload our results after testing is complete; no more manual entry!
