Also, how it works is very simple; you just drag your .wav file on an area of your screen, it processes the file, and saves it in the same folder as the original. **What do you dislike about levelator?** It took a bit longer than I'd like. Also, I needed a bit more control over the processing. For example for a podcast, I wanted the audio to be a little louder than what was being produced in comparison to other platforms. **Recommendations to others considering levelator:** Its a desktop application not a cloud one. Also you don't get any controls over the processing, which depending on your needs could be either a positive or a negative. **What problems is levelator solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was able to quickly get podcast audio to sound more even, without having to open up my DAW. ### 2. I am very soft spoken and uneven in my volume. Levelator manages to level out the highs and lows and results in voice quality that is acceptable for training tutorials. I have tried Audacity, another great tool but it required lots of manual work. Levelator does it in one single step. All you need to do is just drag your wav format audio file into the running window and out comes the cleaned up version. No mess, no fuss. **What do you dislike about levelator?** The only real problem is that levelator is no longer supported. It is made available by "The Conversations Network" and it can still be downloaded but there are no new updates. Maybe prod "The Conversations Network" to either continue supporting or else open source the software. **What problems is levelator solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am very soft spoken and uneven in my volume. It reduces production time and the trial and error rounds of troubleshooting. It is simply a drag and drop function, outputting the corrected audio file for input into the audio editor of your choice. **What do you dislike about levelator?** I don't use it on full mixes - it can do unpredictable things with music. I isolate the voice tracks, run them through Levelator, then bring them back into Audacity and mix it with other elements. Aside from this concern about music, I have no complaints. **Recommendations to others considering levelator:** I'd recommend using this in your workflow. It will greatly help eliminate undesirable dynamic range in voice audio, creating fullness and presence in your recordings. I don't recommend it for full mixes that include music, but for solving voice volume disparities, both single and multi-voice situations, like phone based recordings, it is extremely helpful. **What problems is levelator solving and how is that benefiting you?** Levelator has improved sound quality, creating a fuller sound with more presence and saving production time that would have been used to manually achieve the same effect. To achieve this with other tools requires manual trial and error. ### 4. If you are an amateur or professional podcaster, or anywhere in between, this is a must have download to ensure your podcasts sound better than the rest. **What problems is levelator solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a podcaster who is still learning the ropes, levelator has rescued a number of episodes after I have recorded them that I thought would be unpublishable because of background noise, mismatched levels, and feedback.
