"Scalable, Future-Ready Content Management with Powerful AI and Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

It gives our teams the freedom to structure content the way we need while keeping day-to-day content management simple and intuitive. The wide range of integrations makes it easy to connect with other systems, and the AI-powered features and agents help automate tasks, speed up content creation, and improve overall efficiency. Together, these capabilities make Kontent.ai a scalable and future-ready platform for digital content management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

I wouldn’t say there is anything I actively dislike about Kontent.ai. If I had to point out one challenge, it’s that the platform’s flexibility can be a double-edged sword. Because it offers so many options, organizations need a clear content strategy and architecture vision from the start. More built-in guidance, templates, and best-practice recommendations could help new teams get up to speed faster and avoid spending time designing their content model from scratch. "A Truly Empowering CMS Experience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

Kontent.ai has become a key enabler of our digital content strategy

What I appreciate most about Kontent.ai is its flexible and well-structured content model. It allows us to create reusable, modular content that scales efficiently across multiple insurance portals and markets, while maintaining consistency and governance.

The implementation was smooth and straightforward, enabling our team to adopt the platform quickly and start delivering value without a lengthy transition period. Today, we use Kontent.ai as a central content hub integrated with our internally developed portals, where content is dynamically consumed across different digital journeys. This modular approach gives us the agility to respond to changing business requirements while keeping content management efficient and maintainable.

Another major strength is its support for localization and content operations. Managing multilingual content across several countries is significantly easier thanks to the structured content model and integration capabilities. Combined with comprehensive documentation and high-quality learning resources, onboarding new team members and expanding expertise is a seamless experience.

The support team consistently delivers excellent service. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping customers succeed. On top of that, the platform continues to evolve with meaningful improvements and new capabilities, demonstrating a strong commitment to innovation and customer needs.

I would highly recommend Kontent.ai to organizations looking for a scalable, future-ready CMS that empowers both business and technical teams while providing the flexibility needed for modern digital experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

While the platform evolves rapidly, I would appreciate more transparency around upcoming changes, particularly when existing features are being deprecated or removed. Better visibility into these updates would make change management easier for customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

1. Lack of Certain Out-of-the-Box Tools, As a pure headless CMS, it deliberately doesn't include certain features that monolithic CMSs do, such as a complete, integrated personalisation engine or a full digital asset management (DAM) system, meaning you have to bring or build those components yourself. "Powerful CMS—But Expect a Steep Learning Curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

I find Kontent.ai to be a really powerful CMS with lots of micro features that makes content editing really customisable. The concept of a 'content model' and creating/reusing 'content items' to build your projects allows for efficiency when creating what you need.

I like the approval workflows which are customisable. This means we can review content or send items back before it's published on our live projects. When uploading assets, the asset management feature is also intuitive and you can easily search what you're looking for. The AI in the software automatically tags the assets based on what it is which is great.

Version control is well thought out and you can easily create new versions of content items and manage them in various ways. The overall software UI is generally quick and reliable to load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

There is a steep learning curve involved and you'll need to be prepared to go through their training guides. The language/terminology wasn't familiar to me at first and so I had to learn what everything meant.

The actual editing experience can be a bit confusing at first. For example, if I edit a particular content item, will it affect all instances of where it's used? The small details in Kontent make it powerful, but it can appear to make creation of your projects to be cumbersome at first. If there was more drag-and-drop functionality, this may help. Response from Mark Vermeulen of Kontent.ai

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review.

It’s great to hear that Kontent.ai helped you move away from an unsupported CMS and that you’re now running multiple live sites with more editors, approval workflows, and consistent page structures. Reduced editing time is exactly what the content model is meant to deliver, so we’re glad that’s showing up for your team.

We also hear you on the learning curve. A structured, reusable content model does introduce new concepts at the start, and we want to make that ramp-up as short as possible. A few things that may help:

Knowing where an edit lands. When you open a content item, the sidebar shows which other content items link to it, so you can see where it’s used before you publish a change. As a rule of thumb, a linked content item is shared, so editing it updates every place it appears. A component inside rich text belongs only to the item it sits in.

Editing more visually. Live preview lets editors navigate pages, edit content, and see changes in real time in the same view. If your team isn’t using it yet, your developers can activate it and add the Smart Link SDK for in-context editing.

Getting new editors up to speed. The content creator walkthrough on Kontent.ai Learn covers the core concepts in short lessons. Your Customer Success Manager is also happy to set up a session tailored to your project’s content model and terminology.

We hope to be in touch through your CSM to follow up, and thank you again for the thoughtful review.

"An intuitive CMS that simplifies content management and collaboration"
4/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

We use Kontent.ai to manage almost everything across our two websites, and it has been flexible enough to support our day-to-day content needs as well as ongoing website development.

Our favourite thing about Kontent.ai is that it is intuitive and easy to use, which makes onboarding new colleagues straightforward and helps people across different teams get involved in managing website content.

The review and approval workflows are particularly valuable for cross-team collaboration. They allow us to bring colleagues outside the marketing team into the process, share responsibility for tasks and reduce the workload on marketing, saving our team hours of admin work each week.

It’s also straightforward to manage development and live environments separately, test changes throughout the development process, and work collaboratively with our web developers and external partners to deliver our website objectives.

The AI features are another useful addition, helping with specific tasks and making certain parts of the workflow more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

While the approval workflows are really useful, it would be helpful if they could be configured for specific component types rather than applying site-wide. Currently, even marketing team members have to send certain components to themselves for approval, which adds unnecessary steps to the process. More flexibility to tailor approval workflows to different content types and teams would make the platform even more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mark Vermeulen of Kontent.ai

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review!

It’s great to hear Kontent.ai is helping you manage two websites, bring colleagues outside marketing into the process, and save your team hours of admin each week. Reusing content across reports and documents, and testing safely in separate environments, is exactly how we hope teams will work with the platform.

On approval workflows: you can set up separate workflows for specific content types and collections, each with its own steps and roles. That means content your marketing team owns could follow a lighter workflow without the self-approval step, while other content keeps a full review. Your Customer Success Manager would be happy to walk through this with you.

Thanks again for sharing your experience!

"Easy to Navigate, Great Support, and Fair Pricing"
4/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

User interface is very easy to navigate. Integrates well with our 3rd party vendors and has great customer support. It performs well 90% of the time, but there have been a few downs over the past year or so. Pricing is very fair considering how much we use it, the service provided, and the ROI we have received. I wasn't around for onboarding, but it was very easy to learn and pick up, and customer support, with our success contact has been great. We are only now just exploring AI with Kontent.AI, so more to come here Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

I found it hard to navigate around billing etc when I first started, but now it's very easy. As mentioned in my positives, It's had a few downs recently in terms of up time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mark Vermeulen of Kontent.ai

Thank you for the great review!

We’re glad the platform is easy to navigate and integrates well with your vendors, and it’s especially good to hear you’re seeing strong ROI. We’ll make sure your success contact sees your kind words too.

We also appreciate your honest feedback on uptime. Reliability matters, and we’ve shared your comments with our engineering team. Thanks too for the note on billing navigation; we’re glad it feels easy now.

As you start exploring AI in Kontent.ai, your Customer Success Manager is happy to help you find the use cases that add the most value for your team.

"Promising headless CMS for a multi-site health system"
4/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

We’re still early in our rollout, but what stood out from the start is how Kontent.ai approaches content as structured, reusable building blocks rather than page-by-page layouts. As a regional health system with a lot of content spread across services, locations, and providers, the idea of defining content once and reusing it across channels is a big part of why we chose it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

Since we’re still early in adoption, most of our observations relate to the effort of getting started rather than day-to-day use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Kontent.ai’s Clean, Intuitive UI Makes Content Creation Seamless"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

My favorite thing about Kontent.ai is how genuinely user‑friendly it is. The interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, which makes content creation feel seamless rather than overwhelming. The task assignment feature is especially helpful — I can assign specific components or entire content items to teammates, track progress, and keep workflows organized without needing separate project‑management tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

One downside of Kontent.ai for a food company is the ingredients integration workflow. Now that we’ve uploaded thousands of products and recipes, the platform can feel overwhelming to navigate at times. When I create a new recipe for the site, I have to add a new ingredient entry every single time — even if that ingredient already exists in the system. This is usually because each recipe requires a different cut, size, or measurement, and there isn’t a universal dropdown or a flexible way to reuse existing ingredient variations. As our library grows, this becomes increasingly time‑consuming and makes ingredient management more complex than it needs to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Content Modeling and Reliable API for Modern Headless Delivery"
5/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

The content modeling and API reliability are excellent. Being a cloud-native headless CMS, it allows us to structure content cleanly and deliver it seamlessly to our website using custom components and modern frameworks. It strikes a good balance between giving developers complete technical control and giving content authors an intuitive interface to manage updates without needing direct developer intervention for everyday changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

Rich text handling and web preview configurations can occasionally feel a little restrictive depending on your frontend setup. It requires a bit of onboarding for non-technical team members who are used to traditional WYSIWYG page builders rather than structured headless content items. "Powerful multi-market CMS"
4/5
What do you like best about Kontent.ai?

Strong multi-language support across our markets, a flexible multi-environment setup with draft-and-publish workflows, and a solid API that lets us automate routine content updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kontent.ai?

Bandwidth consumption can grow quickly on a high-traffic site, and there’s limited self-service visibility into which assets drive it. Also, finding a specific content item among hundreds across cultures and environments can be slow; search and filtering could be much stronger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mark Vermeulen of Kontent.ai

Thank you for the review!

It’s great to hear Kontent.ai is powering your multi-market, multi-language site, and that your e-commerce team can launch promotions and landing pages quickly without relying on developers. Consistent markets and safe review in separate environments before publishing is exactly what we hope teams get from the platform.

I'm aware that we are engaging on the Bandwidth consumption together with your Customer Success Manager.
