What do you like best about Keen.io?

Easy to begin streaming data, analyzing it, and visualizing it using very clearly documented APIs. I've used it both for internal projects and for end user projects, and I've been pleasantly surprised by its stability and feature density. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Keen.io?

When you're building solutions intended to be used by third parties, you cannot rate limit their usage of the API. Since costs are primarily driven by how much data you compute, this makes it hard to price your service in advance. Recent changes to their pricing model make the base price even to have a single customer on a Keen.io backed SaaS at least several hundred dollars per month, so ensure what you're building is priced accordingly. What problems is Keen.io solving and how is that benefiting you?

We wanted to provide eCommerce related dashboards to end users of our software, Drupal Commerce. Using Keen IO we were able to quickly index not just denormalized transaction data but also the essential traffic related data needed to track conversion rates, campaign effectiveness, and more. We obviously benefit from Keen's scalability, but we've also taken full advantage of rich features both in their streaming and in their visualization APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Keen.io?

For us Keen is a near perfect fit for our data streaming and aggregation needs. It starts with the availability of SDKs in multiple languages, and the ability to stream unlimited events using these SDKs or the API, allowing us to capture all the user engagement data we could dream of. Furthermore we find the caching abilities of queries and datasets to be an extremely powerful tool to serve up high value data aggregates with exceptionally low latency and high stability. Support has always been incredibly attentive, quick to respond and willing to work together to maximise the benefits achievable by utilising Keen's tools. What do you dislike about Keen.io?

We find the front-end UI to be a bit clunky; navigation between projects and different pages within the project could be a fair bit smoother and more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Keen.io:

We can very much recommend using Keen for any use case that requires data storage and analysis, but especially when you do not want to worry about the development costs and time, infrastructural knowledge and devops required to build a bespoke solution that gets even close to the capabilities that Keen offers. What problems is Keen.io solving and how is that benefiting you?

As part of our platform we've build multiple analytics dashboards with visualisation and aggregates of engagement with our content. Keen has allowed us to keep the flexibility that most of out of the box analytics providers do not offer, while giving us the ability to set up queries and cached datasets to produce the exact aggregates we want to show. What do you like best about Keen.io?

The only draw back is that we have some data that requires complex joins, which isn't possible with Keen, however, the team worked with my technical team to come up with alternatives to address it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Keen.io?

It's amazing how easy it is to start streaming and querying data within minutes with Keen API and clean documentation. They also provide ready to use JavaScript data visualization library that simplifies client side of the integration. What do you like best about Keen.io?

Keen.io includes all the tools you need to get a grip on behavioral analytics for web or mobile, from a developer interface. There's no black box. You know exactly how your metrics are being calculated, and what's happening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Keen.io?

Product probably isn't suitable for those who are trying to "figure out" analytics in their organization. Other products charge more, but offer much more support as far as libraries & guides go. However, Keen.io has an awesome slack channel where you can ask anyone literally anything, so a tech savvy beginner has a shot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Keen.io:

If you've got an experienced data team and dev support, at minimum you should evaluate Keen.io before spending >$1,000/mo on Mixpanel/Heap/etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Keen.io?

The service does do a good job at being able to track usage and customize events that are being sent to it. It is also really good at being able to access that data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Keen.io?

the "Explore data" feature is very nice to be able to get a quick view of the data, but it would be much more helpful if you could also export the data in a much more viewable way. Unfortunately when you do try to use the export on the data explorer, it messes up the formatting pretty bad making it very difficult to use in a useful way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
