Kantata provides excellent insight into project financials (revenue, cost, margin) resource utilization and overall project health. Kantata SX (the product we use) is built on the Salesforce platform which allows a lot of flexibility and built in automation between the CRM and PSA. We have been able to tailor the tool well to our specific business requirements without needing a dedicated developer or professional services support. The support team and CSM structure has also been very helpful in troubleshooting issues, reviewing new use cases, and providing insight on where the platform is heading. What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)? I am not a big fan of the UI/UX. It feels too clunky and outdated. I dislike the fact that the name of the columns are not expandable. When creating a timeline, it's not user friendly. For example, adding the predecessors takes too long. If there is a future similar to SmartSheet where we can drag and drop the predecessors that would make things a lot easier and quicker. Not having a proper routing tool built in also is a challenge with this system and forces users to look for other tools. I think it would be very helpful if Kantata included a CRM feature that lets you create a project in its earliest stages, when it's still just a lead or opportunity. This would allow teams to track potential future revenue, forecast resource needs based on probability, and improve overall planning and forecasting even more. The Resource Center's new columns and filters make resourcing and identifying constraints much faster and easier, saving the team time and helping them make scheduling adjustments more efficiently. I also love that we can update allocations in real time, so we can respond quickly as priorities change. The new AI features are also a game changer for us. Instead of searching through documentation or asking for help, we can quickly find answers right within the system, making it easier to learn new features and work more efficiently. Kantata is incredibly easy to use. Everything feels intuitive and logically laid out, so finding what you need is straightforward. It's fast and responsive, and I love that you rarely have to stop and manually save your work, making the whole experience seamless and efficient. The Salesforce integration is smooth and seamless. It works reliably in the background, helping keep our data synchronized without disrupting day-to-day workflows. Even with a significant volume of studies being managed in Kantata, the platform remains fast, reliable, and easy to navigate. Performance has never been a concern, even as our workload has grown. Kantata's customer support is great. The team is responsive and helpful, and our Client Support Manager, Naz, is wonderful to work with, friendly, approachable, and always supportive.
