Jumpcloud hits all of the points I needed to finally ditch Active Directory. The console layout is good, and it works well for both Mac and Windows machines. The online Knowledge Base is excellent and provides the answers to just about every question or problem. Implementation is straightforward, and adding a service like RADIUS was quite simple. On the few occasions where I had to reach out to support, the customer service was prompt and exceptional.

JumpCloud lets us manage our whole laptop fleet (Mac and Windows) from one cloud console without any on-prem infrastructure. New machines get enrolled quickly, and we can push policies like disk encryption, screen lock, OS updates and password rules without touching each device. When someone leaves, we can lock or wipe their laptop remotely, which gives us confidence on security and compliance. I mainly use JumpCloud as an MDM solution to manage our laptop fleet on Windows and Mac, making it easy to deliver software and security configurations. I really like JumpCloud's centralized user and device management, making day-to-day IT administration easier. The wide range of device management features for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, all in one platform, provides much more control than what I get with Google Workspace. The depth of device management is impressive, with alerts and reports giving me greater visibility into what's happening across devices, and Windows patch management is a big plus. I find the conditional access and zero trust policies particularly useful for security, along with patch management and reporting features for better visibility and control. Everything works pretty well with JumpCloud, but for some advanced tasks, you still need to use commands or scripting. For example, when I'm trying to set up custom device settings or software installations for Windows and macOS, I have to resort to using Powershell or shell commands. To the best of my knowledge, JumpCloud is the only solution uniquely positioned to unify IAM with Device Management, supporting multiple protocols such as agent-based integration, LDAP, and RADIUS. All this with an easy-to-use user interface and a robust set of APIs allowing integration with our other applications. Their comprehensive documentation makes easy integration possible with devices and applications, and on the rare occasion when we ran into issues, the customer support was ready to go above and beyond. This centralizes user and device management for us, and we’ve since rebuilt our entire operations around JumpCloud using it every single day to fully leverage its capabilities. JumpCloud password manager continues to be its weakest point even with its unique decentralized syncing approach. It doesn't compare against some of the best solutions out there and the clients are a hit or miss. Also, options not showing as part of the current offering show up in the sidebar, clicking which starts a trial. It would be helpful to only show options in the navbar for features subscribed to. I like how JumpCloud brings identity, access, and device state into one system, which is really useful for our small team that doesn't rely on a Windows-centric setup. JumpCloud acts as the layer covering everything else and supports our Linux fleet effectively. The group attribute assertion, custom SAML app connector, user portal launchpad, device agent, and SSO enforcement are features I particularly appreciate. I like JumpCloud’s unified approach to identity and endpoint management. Being able to manage users, devices, SSO, and access policies from a single console saves time and keeps things more organized. The cross-platform support for Mac and Windows is especially useful.

Some of the more advanced configurations can take time to fully understand and set up. Because the platform includes a wide range of features, the initial learning curve can feel a bit steep. From an admin perspective, certain workflows could be more intuitive and easier to navigate. The documentation is generally good, but for more complex use cases I sometimes need to do additional troubleshooting to get everything working as expected. I also wish the reporting and customization options were more flexible. Overall, though, these are manageable issues once you become familiar with the platform.
