"JumpCloud: Feature-Rich Without the Feature Bloat"

5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud combines AD, identity management, MDM, and asset inventory into a single platform that is easy to deploy and manage. One of its greatest strengths is the pace of innovation. New functionality is released frequently, often based on customer feedback, and the additions feel thoughtfully designed and practical rather than unnecessary "fluff" features. The result is a platform that stays modern while remaining intuitive and efficient to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

The biggest challenge with JumpCloud is industry adoption. Compared to some larger competitors, I've observed that new SaaS platforms often release native integrations for other identity providers before supporting JumpCloud. This can result in fewer native SSO options and a greater reliance on SAML 2.0-based configurations. To continue closing that gap, JumpCloud should maintain its focus on delivering well-designed, impactful features that solve real customer problems. As the platform continues to mature and gain traction, I have already seen more platforms with native integrations than even a year ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

JumpCloud is the backbone of our identity governance, device management, and asset inventory programs. It provides a centralized platform that allows our IT organization to efficiently manage and support all users and endpoints, covering the full spectrum of identity, software, and hardware administration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sleek Admin Dashboard and Solid Access Control, but a Buggy Password Manager"

3.5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

Jumpcloud is really great to consolidate identity providers and manage user access at an administrator level. The design of the admin dashboard is sleek and simple to use. The more complex aspects of the product are often the downfall. The password manager is clunky and poorly built. It is riddled with bugs and doesn't work nearly as smoothly as Dashlane. The AI functionality they offer just feels like bloat and there is no nice way to get them to stop pushing it in your face. The price is reasonable for this kind of a platform and there is support for lots of external connectors. The account management team is great and really responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

Jumpcloud Password Manager is really terribly built. It stands no chance against its competitors. It regularly fails for me, and produces annoying pop-ups about updating and logging in again even if I'm doing something else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

User management for employees, and access management to other software providers. Jumpcloud groups are easy to assign and manage. We can even do it through terraform, which is a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One Console for Identity, MDM, and Patching at Scale"

4.5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud consolidates identity, MDM, SSO, and conditional access into one console, which has been a strong fit for managing our 400+ user bilingual fleet across two domains and two offices.

What we rely on most:

Cross-platform MDM — managing mixed macOS and Windows from one place, with scripts and policies scoped to device groups.

SSO and conditional access — integrates cleanly with our SaaS stack (Google Workspace, Slack, Vanta, Keeper, and others) and enforces device trust without a separate ZTNA product.

API and Directory Insights — the API is genuinely usable for SRE-style automation, and audit logs help with both troubleshooting and Vanta compliance evidence.

An unexpected benefit has been operational scale: bulk policy rollouts, group changes, and fleet-wide remediations are quick, and the agent self-corrects most drift on check-in. It lets a small IT team manage a large fleet with governance that would normally take three or four separate tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

A few areas where we've felt friction:

Third-party app patching gap — DDM-based patch policies only handle OS-level updates, so third-party app patching still requires custom scripting or external tooling. A native software update mechanism for non-OS apps (without local admin rights) would be a meaningful gap-closer.

SCIM and SAML customization — limited flexibility on some SAML attribute mappings and SCIM provisioning workflows. For more complex SaaS integrations, we sometimes end up working around the connector rather than configuring it cleanly.

Admin Console performance and UX — bulk actions and large device/user list views can feel sluggish, and some workflows still require multiple clicks across separate panels (e.g., role/policy/device association edits) that could be consolidated.

Command results visibility — commandresults only surfaces commands run through the JumpCloud command system, not ad-hoc terminal activity, which limits its usefulness as a full audit trail for device-side actions.

Documentation depth on advanced API/automation use cases — the basics are well covered, but for SRE-style workflows (systeminsights queries, conditional logic in commands, edge-case error handling) we often have to piece things together from community forums or trial and error.

None of these are blockers — they're refinements we'd like to see as JumpCloud continues to mature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

JumpCloud consolidates identity, MDM, conditional access, and patch management into a single platform, replacing what would otherwise be several disconnected tools.

Concrete problems it solves for us:

Unified identity and access — one source of truth for 400+ users across two domains, with consistent account lifecycle and conditional access enforcement across the fleet.

Cross-platform device management — managing macOS and Windows from the same console, including policies, scripts, and remote commands, without maintaining separate MDM tooling per OS.

Patch and update management — DDM-based OS patch policies and command-driven third-party app updaters let us keep the fleet current without manually chasing devices or relying on user-initiated updates.

Compliance and audit evidence — Directory Insights and policy enforcement give us the audit trail we need for Vanta and internal compliance reviews.

Operational scale for a small team — bulk actions, group-based policy targeting, and a usable API let a small IT/SRE team manage a large, distributed fleet (Montreal + Philippines) without proportionally scaling headcount.

The net benefit is fewer tools, less drift, faster onboarding/offboarding, and a stronger security posture — all from one console. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very solid platform, with the need for some refinement in areas"

4/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

I find it easy to integrate a wide range of different resources, and managing users and devices is also relatively straightforward. A large amount of new features have been added since its inception within our org, which has helped consolidate and centralize our IT operations and asset management.

Access and SSO integration has been largely very straight forward for the range of other services we have integrated with.

Customer support has been helpful on the rare occasions we've needed assistance, but thanks to the platform's reliability, we've encountered very few issues that we couldn't resolve on our own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

To some extent, more focus is placed on adding and implementing new features instead of improving on existing more core features.

The menus and navigation can be frustrating at times Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Easy management of various platforms in the one spot, consolidation of access management to a range of external platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unified directory + device management that actually helps a lean IT team"

5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud let us centralize identities, SSO, MFA, and laptop management in one place. We’re an India-based company with internal “clients” (engineering, sales, ops), and onboarding/offboarding went from a painful checklist to a 10-minute, repeatable flow. Policies for BitLocker/FileVault, password rules, and screen-lock are easy to push. SSO to Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, and AWS works smoothly, and Conditional Access + MFA has cut risk without killing productivity. RADIUS for Wi-Fi and the new patch controls are big wins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

I hate that the only way to cancel the subscription is through manually sending an email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

One directory for users and devices across Windows and macOS

Fast, consistent onboarding/offboarding for internal teams and contractors

Strong MFA and device posture for SOC-2/ISO readiness

Fewer password-reset tickets and shadow accounts

Cleaner audit trail for who has access to what Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy User, Device & Access Management in One Secure Dashboard"

4.5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud makes it easy to manage users, devices, and access from a single dashboard. Its SSO, directory management, and cross-platform support save time for IT teams while improving security and user convenience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

The main drawbacks are the learning curve for advanced configurations, occasional complexity when setting up integrations, and costs that can increase as the organization scales. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

JumpCloud helps solve the challenge of managing user identities, devices, and access permissions across multiple systems from a single platform. This reduces administrative overhead, improves security through centralized authentication and access control, and simplifies onboarding and offboarding processes. As a result, IT management is more efficient, users can access the resources they need more easily, and the organization benefits from better security and compliance. "Intuitive UI, Seamless Integrations, and Outstanding Value"

5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud stands out for its exceptional UI/UX and seamless integrations, making identity and device management incredibly intuitive. The platform delivers outstanding performance alongside a highly attractive pricing/ROI structure that offers great value for growing businesses. Furthermore, its reliable support/onboarding and emerging AI/intelligence features ensure a smooth deployment and forward-thinking security environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

While JumpCloud is highly capable, the UI/UX can feel occasionally complex for non-technical users, requiring a learning curve during initial setup. Some users also note limitations in pre-built integrations—particularly a smaller SSO app catalog compared to competitors—and slight performance bottlenecks when deploying deep macOS policies. Additionally, while the entry-level pricing is attractive, the overall pricing/ROI can escalate quickly for growing teams needing premium tiers, and advanced support/onboarding or cutting-edge AI/intelligence features are sometimes locked behind these higher-cost plan Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

JumpCloud effectively solves the challenge of fragmented IT environments by consolidating identity, access, and device management into a single cloud platform. This unified approach vastly simplifies our integrations and elevates system performance by replacing clunky legacy hardware with sleek, cross-platform automation. For our organization, this translates into a high pricing/ROI through reduced software overhead, while the intuitive UI/UX combined with proactive support/onboarding and built-in AI/intelligence helps minimize help-desk tickets and securely fast-tracks user provisioning from days to minutes. "Centralized Identity and Device Management Made Simple and Secure"

5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

What I like best about JumpCloud is its ability to manage user identities, devices, and access from a single, centralized platform. The integration of Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and device management makes IT administration much simpler while improving security. Its intuitive interface, cross-platform support for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and automation features for user provisioning and policy management save a significant amount of time and reduce manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

One area where JumpCloud could improve is the learning curve for advanced policy configuration and automation, especially for new administrators. Some integrations require additional configuration compared to more mature ecosystem-specific solutions, and troubleshooting complex policies can occasionally be time-consuming. It would also be helpful to have more granular reporting and expanded customization options for certain administrative workflows. Overall, these are relatively minor issues, and the platform continues to improve with regular updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

JumpCloud helps us centralize identity, access, and device management into a single platform, eliminating the need to manage multiple disconnected tools. It streamlines user onboarding and offboarding, enforces security policies through SSO and MFA, and simplifies device management across Windows, macOS, and Linux. This has reduced administrative overhead, improved security, ensured consistent policy enforcement, and made it easier to support both remote and hybrid employees efficiently. "Simple and Effective Server Management with JumpCloud"

4.5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

I like that JumpCloud isn't super complicated and is simple to use. It doesn't have an exhausting amount of buttons everywhere, which makes the application straightforward. I usually write my script, execute it, pick the servers I want it to run on, and that's it. The simplicity of the application is what I like most. It's also pretty easy to set up since it's an online thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

Whenever I need to make sure about the IP address of a server when picking up servers during the best script execution screen, I need to go back to devices and check the IP address because the host name doesn't usually tell us the IP address of the server. I would like to have a way to see the IP address in the server selection section of the best script execution feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use JumpCloud to run commands on multiple servers and execute a BASH script for server state checks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"JumpCloud Makes SSO and Device Management Easy in One Place"

4.5/5

What do you like best about JumpCloud?

There are many things I like about JumpCloud, such as being able to add MS365 as a directory to take advantage of SSO with devices, spinning up RADIUS servers for multiple use cases, and the ability to manage users, desktops, and authentications from a single service, to name a few. The UI carries a familiar layout, which makes it easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

Cost could be a bit more competitive, but the license cost gets you so much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JumpCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Single sign-on between desktops, wireless access points, VPN, and Office 365. This can also be implemented on many more SaaS applications, which I plan to do soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
