IrisVR Reviews & Product Details

What is IrisVR?

IrisVR is the leading software for immersive design review and collaboration in virtual reality. It is used by BIM and VDC teams, design firms, and engineers who coordinate 3D models and implement design and construction processes. Because IrisVR integrates with Revit, Rhino, Navisworks, SketchUp, and other 3D tools out of the box, you can instantly create an immersive VR experience that allows you to present to clients and work more effectively with your team. IrisVR offers a desktop product called Prospect that works with the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows MR headsets, as well as a mobile product called Scope that is compatible with the Samsung GearVR, Google Daydream, and Cardboard. Both products have a 45-day free trial, which you can start at www.irisvr.com.

"director of vr school"

What do you like best?

I like how plug and play it is. i can just grab a sketchup model and click and drag it into the program and instantly walk and examine it. no extra hiccups or hoops to jump through when time is a major priority.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the lack of video testimonials, I think they could do a better job at advertising their service on social media. i say that because adoption for our professors or students would go faster if iris was promoting more.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

would recommend if your looking for visualization with sketchup (all we use it for). its quick and easy and in my research there isnt an easier way to load and visualize.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

we flipped one of our classes on its head. we took D1 athletes from having to draw stadiums to teaching them sketchup and now they make their stadiums and present to the class in VR

"An amazing jay-dropping experience."

What do you like best?

The ease of use is the best feature of Iris. We have clients come in and walk through their un-built projects without any prior knowledge or training in the VR software. Its great!

What do you dislike?

I can't really come up with anything yet. Iris is the first VR software we've used or experienced. So, in the future we come up with some dislikes. Right now there are none.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

clients and stakeholders fully understanding what used to be more ephemeral. Scale, design palettes, design options are all things we've solved through IrisVR. The design team and contractors too have been brought in to better understand a project that's in the design process.

"Using the product in a University setting"

What do you like best?

The drawing aspect within the file allowing me to pinpoint stuff within the spaces itself and staying there while in session to go back to.

What do you dislike?

I wish I could save the drawings i do in either a separate file to access again at a later time.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

How to properly present to clients by using your product and exploiting flaws within a design, no matter how small it is.

"IrisVR helped us to win many customers"

What do you like best?

Very easy to use, all functions you need are included

What do you dislike?

Large architecture files take a long time to load, but that's because of the size of the file

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use IRISVR to show our clients our office planning in VR, this is more meaningful than a 2D plan.

We have won many big projects with these VR presentations.
