I would not say that I like the download process. I believe that the download process is extremely tedious and lengthy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The upsides are that there are no distractions in the user interface and that it helps me get my ideas out of my head and onto paper very easily. The 3 simple panels give me a birds eye view of things but allows me to drill down very quickly. If you compare this to an outliner, it gives me the ability to "hoist" if you will, or drill down and just focus entirely on one piece of text/info/content. Another thing I like about it is that it incorporates Markdown. I cant imagine writing without using Markdown. This makes the content developed in Inspire very portable where I can move the content to DropBox, OneDrive or anywhere else for that matter. I love the groups and sheets concept. Sheets make it very easy to manage my content no matter if its a book Im writing or an article or anything else. Not much to not like about this. One thing I miss is that you cant change the style as easily or even at all like you can in lets say Ulysses. Style guides would be incredible here. That said, it is possible to change the font, which is great. It really is. Another thing that I am not crazy about is that there isnt an IOS version. Again that being the case, Inspire does allow you to transfer your content to other apps through the cloud, so its not a show stopper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not a full-fledged editor yet, after I'm done writing I usually copy and paste everything to word to check for spelling errors and style errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't have to use the mouse at all when writing in inspire, there is a keyboard shortcut for everything I need to do. After I'm done writing It's really easy to export everything to HTML and put it on a server and call it a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When I was an iPad user, I made use of Ulysses App for my rw writing process, means writing th first draft of a short story, novella or even a novel. Over tha past years I found some MD-Editors for Windows but not a single one could convince me as much as the Inspire Writer, which unfortunately I found far too late. I always was looking for an elegant, yet stable and usable MD-Editor and with Inspire Writer, I got so much more: Auto save, MD-highlighting, document management, tagging, all done by shortcuts on the keyboard so I never need to put my hands from the keyboard. The GUI ist simple and elegant and offers a distraction free environment that keeps me focussed on that, what I really want to do: Writing.

I cannot point out any dislike as I could not find any. Well, no productive software is ever finish and so is it with Inspire Writer - but that leads to a lot more sadisfaction as they keep up the good work and continue to extend the product with new features. You can control everything in this program without touching the mouse, call me an old man but I'm not a fan of the trackpad of my laptop or to carry a mouse. With this I can do everything including bolding phases, creating titles etc... It also has a night mode that is easy on my eyes when little light. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
