**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

Lovely design and lots of easy to use features. Our users have barely accessed the how-to guides we developed because it's all very intuitive. In the backoffice, you're able to customise a good amount and the new analytics dashboards are really helpful. We also feel well supported by our account manager.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

The downside to any big platform with lots of clients is that they can't implement every request from clients, particularly ones that may be niche. It can be frustrating not knowing whether a request that's deemed feedback will be actioned or not. With that said, when we identified that one of the standard features of the mobile app would be very problematic for us because of how we've structured our groups, Hivebrite recognised the impact of this and developed a patch just for us, which we were thrilled about.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Members can now directly connect with one another, and our member-led communities have spaces to connect, discuss, network, collaborate and share. None of this was possible without Hivebrite, and the support we were able to offer our member-led communities was very admin heavy for us. As an organisation we're also now better able to engage with members and understand their needs, as well as better understand the topics and issues affecting the profession we represent. A year-on, and so much of our organisations' work is supported by the platform.

  ### 2. Great Private Social Feed for Sharing Info, but Implementation Takes Time

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

I like that it is a private social media since we are not a company who uses any other social media. It allows us to disseminate information to a group we created without using email or other methods.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

The implementation is long, and it requires a lot of babysitting. We don't have the staff to fully appreciate the features. It is also somewhat inconvenient that they don't have a robust US team, so most of our questions need to wait 24 hours to be answered due to time zone differences.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us solve a need that our customers wanted to be able to communicate with each other via a social media network, but we wanted to control the medium on which they do that.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

I like that the user experience of Hivebrite is intuitive and similar to other platforms. It recently incorporated new tools that might be useful in the near future. The synced Zoom registry recently added will allow us to track which members attend most events and which register to participate and then don't show up. I would recommend Hivebrite's customer support, I'd give it a 10, and Xavier, our Manager of Customer Success, also gets a 10.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

The backoffice could be simpler and hold, for example, the 'Community - Users' settings next to the 'Settings and Administration - User settings' menu. The same happens with the navigation settings' sub-tags, which are confusing and force you to come back and forth. The statistics are also disseminated across different spaces and it would be good to be able to manage them altogether (currently you need to use the users filters to extract those missing in the 'Analytics' section). The first phase was complicated, took longer than expected and we soon realized that many things that were promised during the sales phase weren't actually possible. This was reverted later with our Manager of Customer Success and the technical support team providing different shortcuts to help us do what we had in mind.

Hivebrite collects updated data of active members and gathers all opportunities and communications for users.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

I like that Hivebrite is easy to handle, with a nice interface that's also user-friendly in the back office. It offers a lot of options to tweak, and I appreciate how there are always new releases and options popping up, which keeps the platform constantly growing with new possibilities. The support is great, and I have regular meetings with them every second or third month, where they really take care of their customers. They keep engaging us and push us to work with the platform and improve how we use it. I find the initial setup to be quite easy and intuitive, as you don't need special IT training, which is something I really appreciate. It's easy to understand but still very powerful, with a lot of options to personalize different pages.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

Currently I do not have that I do not like

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hivebrite makes communication with our fellows easier, reducing emails and saving time. It lets our network connect, sharing ideas and creating community. Bottom line, it frees a lot of time for us, and allows our fellows to talk to each other in a very easy way.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

I like the versatility and sophistication of Hivebrite while maintaining predominantly intuitive use. The various modules offer a comprehensive and visually appealing representation of the respective purposes, whether it be news, events, and custom pages, as well as interactive features like posts, forums, or member directories. The structured presentation helps users to navigate well, even if they belong to multiple sub-communities and switch between them. Additionally, personalized feeds and update emails help users find relevant content more easily.

One of the main challenges seems to be that the respective frontends (web & app) keep up with the technical possibilities, but continuous work is being done on this.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

Our organization needed a platform to both support communication amongst our membership and serve as a platform for managing events, and Hivebrite has been able to fill both roles.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

The biggest challenges we've faced are 1) integration with Salesforce, which has not been as smooth and reliable as we need, and 2) because it Hivebrite is not an event specific platform, while it can do most of what we need, there are some limitations in its functionality.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem is getting our members access to info and a place to connect that is user friendly, and for the most part our members find the platform easily navigable.

The customisable functions let me create a more tailored experience, depending on my audience’s needs.

There is very little we would say we dislike as an organisation. Being able to translate comments and conversations on the platform would be helpful for our global audience, although this may already be a feature that we simply can’t afford to add to our package as a small charity.

Hivebrite offers powerful built-in modules that make it easy to create a highly functional community with advanced features. For an off-the-shelf solution, its level of customization is impressive and highly appealing. The Members Map and the searchable Members database are standout features, addressing our community’s need for networking in a way that is both engaging and intuitive.

There is nothing I particularly dislike about Hivebrite. While it does demand a significant investment of time, this is not a drawback overall. Rather, it reflects the platform's extensive functionality and the wide range of customizable features it offers.

Hivebrite has addressed the challenge of peer-to-peer networking and resource sharing within our community. Previously, as a diverse and global network brought together by a shared purpose, our information exchange was often restricted to a few individuals who acted as central communication points. The clear need for members to securely and easily connect, find, and share information with one another was the main reason we chose to establish our online community using Hivebrite.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

We custom built a community platform eight years ago when there was nothing on the market to meet our needs. We have now migrated to Hivebrite, which provides us with the same (but better!) features and functions, plus a lot more. The migration to Hivebrite was straightforward and the support we received, and continue to receive, has been excellent. Both the user interface and admin interface are intuitive and we love we can customise with our own branding.

So far, we haven't had any issues and it is meeting our needs.

Hivebrite enables us to provide a platform for research collaboration and networking, which is critical in the field we work in as it is relatively small.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

Everything! It was so easy to build our platform in Hivebrite. They've truly built a product designed for community engagement and success. The Hivebrite team is so helpful and attentive to their client's needs and platform vision. Brittaney Shade was amazing and very considerate of our vision when setting up our account and Albert Choute was the best person to lead our onboarding program, giving us step by step guidance and exceptional solutions to every obstacle that came up. It's obvious that they really do care about making elevated online engagement experiences for all of their clients. My team and I use our Hivebrite platform everyday to add more content, communicate in the direct message feature, and build the best experience for our members. It was also really easy to integrate external forms from our main website and to implement various features within the platform. Thank you for making our experience memorable and stress-free!

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

If there were one area of improvement, is that there are some site formatting challenges when using our font on the site. We've encountered formatting issues on the menu bar and in certain text boxes while using our brand font, but once I raised this concern, Albert Choute communicated our concern to the software development team and they immediately started working on finding a solution.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to build our own online community platform for our members, but didn't know where to start. Thankfully we came across Hivebrite's services and requested a demo. After meeting with Brittaney Shade for the demo, we knew we had to signup. The platform already has the infrastructure and capabilities that we envisioned, but weren't equipped to build. After a couple of weeks onboarding with Albert Choute, we were able to make our dream a reality. Now we have the perfect ecosystem for our members to grow and thrive in community.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

Hivebrite has given our global leadership community a true home over the last 3 years. So many users take advantage of the robust People directory literally every single day (along with sharing wide-ranging updates on our Live Feed daily). As admins, we also love the rich and easy-to-navigate backend dashboards to understand what's happening in our community in many different ways. And this year, we've seen huge benefits from the Orbiit AI-powered matchmaking integration, to help us reach and engage many users in a light-touch and low-lift way for both us and them.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

Some app updates have taken time to come in the past, and some of our global users in low bandwidth environments have reported issues. It also took some time for a polling feature to be enabled, but it now exists. The team is always helpful and responsive and overall we are very happy with Hivebrite as the home for our global community and look forward to continue sustaining our member engagement there.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hivebrite helps us solve the dual problems of staying in touch with the members of our lifelong alumni community over time (even as they go through different seasons of work and life), while also giving us a wide range of tools to foster their continued engagement with our program/mission and with each other.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

I like Hivebrite's efficiency and how easy it is to use, making it simple to learn and teach. The app itself is super slick. The support chat has been really helpful, and any problems we've had have been dealt with quickly. Importing people is simple, and it easily connects with sheets and outside URLs. Accessing performance data is very insightful and useful. I've also found the support page with countless advice blogs very useful, along with my direct contact at Hivebrite. The setup process was smooth, thanks to the great support from our contact at Hivebrite who helped us transition flawlessly, including aligning the platform with our rebrand.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

I have experienced some small bugs, like messages not coming through. It happened over a week where messages flashed as notifications but couldn't be found in personal DMs. However, these issues were dealt with quickly.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hivebrite centralizes communication, reducing reliance on emails and calls. It streamlines messaging, asset uploads, event organization, and email campaigns for over 1000 ambassadors, making it efficient and simplifying processes.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

I like Hivebrite for its easy site building once you get the hang of it. It's fairly quick and easy to keep building or amending the site, which is convenient. I also appreciate the easy payment setup and how straightforward it is to view payments. Adding and sharing events is quick too, and I really like the great member directory they offer.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

The initial support to build the site is limited with your guide essentially sending you digital resources and hoping those are enough to teach you. We found we did have to push quite hard to get extra support. The build options, whilst easy, are also very prescriptive and inflexible, but I guess that's why it's so quick to build your site. It is also slow to reach the help team who sort bugs or issues - they can only be contacted by submitting a ticket and will then email you back in a few days.

I use Hivebrite for managing our member base, taking payments, and sharing events seamlessly. It offers an easy site build, simple payment setup, and a great member directory, making it valuable for our community.

Hivebrite has allowed us to bring our entire alumni community together on a single, cohesive platform. Rather than managing multiple tools, we now have one central space where we can communicate, engage, and support our alumni more effectively.

Everything-from events and updates to networking opportunities and member insights-sits in one place, making it easier for our team to deliver a consistent experience and for alumni to stay connected with us and with each other.

Most importantly, Hivebrite provides a seamless, professional environment that reflects the strength of our alumni network and helps us maintain meaningful relationships long after colleagues move on to the next stage of their careers.

I love how responsive they are at Hivebrite and how quickly they help with issues. Plus, especially for Orbiit, I appreciate how fast their iterations of improvements are. The setup was very easy and thoughtfully done, and I was walked through the whole process by an account manager, which I enjoyed.

Like any evolving platform, there are areas Hivebrite could refine, such as deeper customization and more a la carte offerings only provided to enterprise level clients, but what sets them apart is their responsiveness. Whenever we reach out, their team quickly finds a solution and ensures our needs are met.

**Recommendations to others considering Hivebrite:**

Hivebrite is definitely more attractive, more agile and scalable than other membership platforms I considered, and more budget-friendly.

**What do you like best about Hivebrite?**

Over the past year, we’ve continued working with Hivebrite across several partner universities, and one thing we’ve really appreciated is how stable and reliable the platform has remained even as our communities have grown significantly. The improvements to the event management workflow and RSVP handling have made our alumni events easier to organize, and the member directory search feels faster and more accurate than before. We also like the new customization options for pages and blocks, which give us more flexibility when building university-branded alumni experiences.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

While the platform works very well overall, there are still a few areas where development would make a big difference for our university partners. Most importantly, payment integrations are still limited in some European countries — adding broader support (for example SimplePay or OTP integration for Hungary) would help institutions manage paid events and donations more efficiently. We would also welcome deeper analytics options, especially multi-community dashboards for consultants like us who manage several universities at once. Finally, a more streamlined way to automate multilingual content would be very helpful for campuses with large international alumni bases.

The user interface is easy to naviagte with a modern feel. We implementated this over a year ago and the set up was nice and easy, the support team were fantastic and they are quick to respond and help. 

We use this every day and we are encouraging our community to do the same, Hivebrite has a range of functionality that is allowing us to provide more of a one-stop shop for engagement.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

I would say the one downside if the extent of options within events. For us the one challenge is the ability to easily run a series of events for a group. It is still quite a bit of work for the users to register for all events in a series. This is the only thing that holds us back. The rest is great!

I appreciate Hivebrite's professional appearance and the ability to adapt the platform to our branding, which has proven to be very successful. The feedback from our users emphasizes that the platform is inviting and easy to use, which is crucial for user engagement. We successfully simplified the user journey to activate accounts, resulting in many new users joining the platform. There's also a high number of recurrent users returning to the platform even without an ongoing email campaign. This demonstrates the platform's effectiveness in engaging users and communicating the new alumni network concept, especially within our first year of active use starting in March. Hivebrite's adaptability to branding and user-friendliness have been key in creating an attractive and functional alumni network. The support of our Customer Success Specialist Norma Pérez in planning and executing our engagement strategy has been critical for its success, especially since this is our first community building project and we started the alumni network from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

I find the backend of Hivebrite a bit cumbersome and unclear, especially when setting things up initially. This was particularly challenging last year, as some features and components are repeated or spread out in different places, making it time-consuming to organize. An improvement in backend user-friendliness would be appreciated. Additionally, while the front end looks great, certain aspects on the backend seem less adaptable, often requiring costly add-ons to function correctly. This is challenging for us as a nonprofit educational organization, impacting our budget planning.

We really appreciate the Hivebrite Customer Success team. They're always incredibly responsive and helpful. In my personal experience, the customer service stands out—our account manager has been fantastic and truly supportive. I also value the opportunity to collaborate with other community managers through their own private 'user' cmty, which adds a lot of peer learning and connection. The multi-language features have been especially helpful for a global audience, and I appreciate that the company is proactive in sharing its roadmap so users have insight into what’s coming next.

The interface could be more intuitive. That said, I recognize no single platform can meet every organization’s needs, especially without custom work (which isn’t always feasible budget-wise). The mobile app also isn’t as responsive as it could be, which sometimes limits the experience on the go.

I like the sales team. Sandra, the sales rep, was awesome. She guided me through onboarding and was always available to help. I also appreciate the overall engagement back from some of my alumni, which the platform facilitates well.

Sometimes the only challenges have been the time differences between where I'm located in California, where my training rep is located on the East Coast, and where my account rep is located in Paris, France. Mixed in a challenge with regards to the time zone differences.

Hivebrite was easy to set up, use, and white label for our audience with our org branding. They helped us to import our alumni community of over 1,000 people to be invited to join and engage. We use it to share volunteering requests, events, and opportunities to our alumni community. When people plug back in through Hivebrite, they see clearer news and gain a stronger understanding of our current organization status. Hivebrite provides prompt and friendly customer support.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

As a smaller nonprofit, we enjoy what Hivebrite has to offer. There are many features that would be better for a larger organization or a program with a different mission that we cannot comment on.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hivebrite is helping us stay in touch with our alumni community in an intentional, values-aligned, and simple way. We are able to easily post to the platform about our news and needs, and we have seen positive use of the platform by alumni to find others to network with and to post about their organizing efforts or opportunities at their places of employment.

Reestablishing our partnership with Hivebrite and collaborating on the redesigned platform has been a real highlight. The thoughtfulness and intentionality that went into enhancing the user experience and modernizing the platform were much appreciated. The Hivebrite team has also been incredibly supportive, informative, and patient throughout the process. The team went above and beyond to ensure we had a successful launch day. We’re happy to be reconnected and excited about what this partnership makes possible.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

Early on, we experienced some challenges navigating Hivebrite because our team had previously relied on a third-party partner to manage the platform. When we reengaged directly, there was a learning curve and some uncertainty around what steps were required on our end to move into production and publish redesigned pages. In addition, because we were working with several different people over the course of a few months, it wasn’t immediately clear who our dedicated CRM contact was. That has since been clarified, and things are now much smoother.

Looking ahead, we know additional training would be valuable for our team, and we’d like to establish regular check-ins with our CRM. That way, we can better understand what we don’t yet know, stay aligned on best practices, and avoid gaps moving forward.

**What problems is Hivebrite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before reestablishing our direct partnership with Hivebrite, our existing platform had already been our central hub for members to connect, share resources, and participate in opportunities. However, the platform felt outdated and clunky, and it wasn’t particularly user-friendly. We also didn’t fully realize how outdated things were until we began working directly with the Hivebrite team.

Our biggest challenge has consistently been member engagement on the platform. Because our platform  is such a fundamental part of how our senior leaders across the country connect and build community, improving that experience has been critical. The redesign, paired with now having a dedicated Community Manager on our team, is helping us address that.

Key problems Hivebrite is helping us solve include:

1. User Experience & Engagement – A modern, more intuitive design makes it easier for members to navigate, connect, and contribute, which we expect will drive stronger engagement.

2. Event Management – We now understand how to better streamline event management directly through the platform, which saves staff time, simplifies  and upgrades the member experience.

3. Onboarding – We’ve significantly enhanced onboarding and membership engagement flows and will continue refining these to reinforce member value and reengagement.

4. Branding & Visibility – The updated design and stronger branding brings our platform in line with the quality of our broader communications and member-facing work.

5. Direct Communication/Rapid Response – The ability to notify and communicate with members in a more improved, reliable way is a major benefit for keeping the Network informed and active in real time outside of our month round up newsletters.

The benefit is that our updated member platfrom now feels like the vibrant, modern community hub our leaders deserve—one that both reflects our brand and enables members to engage more meaningfully.

Our IFIP team and our community members find Hivebrite incredibly easy to navigate and use. The platform is well-designed, making it simple to access information and engage with content. 

Hivebrite offers a high degree of customisation, allowing us to tailor the platform to cater for specific needs of our members. This has been essential in creating an engaging and entertaining space for our community. 

In terms of the number of features Hivebrite provides a comprehensive toolkit that has enabled us to build and maintain a dynamic and interactive community. This includes forums and event management, creating member content, facilitating our own IFIP Fellowship program, facilitating the online sale of our education products.

The Hivebrite support team has been very responsive. They are quick, helpful, and always eager to resolve any questions or issues.

**What do you dislike about Hivebrite?**

Hivebrite is not the cheapest online community platform.
