Where You Customize—Not Conform **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing **Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026 **What do you like best about HighGear?** I’ve been both an admin and an end user of HighGear for over two years, and what stands out most isn’t just the features—it’s how often the platform improves. Updates, enhancements, and new releases happen consistently. It’s not one of those systems that gets touched every few years—it’s constantly evolving based on customer feedback and where technology is going. On top of that, HighGear is easily one of the most customizable workflow and process platforms out there. It lets you build workflows, processes, and forms around how your business actually runs. A lot of ERPs and job management systems force you to conform your process to fit the software. HighGear does the opposite—if you can think it, you can build it. **What do you dislike about HighGear?** HighGear’s customization isn’t unlimited. There are still areas where certain features are confined within set parameters. That’s understandable from a system design standpoint, but it can be frustrating when you’re trying to push things further. The upside is that the platform is constantly improving, and over time some of those limitations have been reduced or removed altogether. There are also a couple areas where I think HighGear could take a big step forward. A time logging system exists, but a more robust, flexible, and intuitive time tracking system—especially for manufacturers—would add a lot of value. More customization options for dashboards, charts, and graphs would also go a long way. **What problems is HighGear solving and how is that benefiting you?** HighGear replaced an outdated, custom-built Access database we were using that was slowly falling apart. It was basically just a job and task management tool with limited (and often broken) reporting, and no real path forward without a full rebuild. We initially brought in HighGear for job and task management with better reporting, but it quickly expanded beyond that. We now use it for quoting, purchasing, quality management, invoice management, and a range of other automation projects. Before HighGear, a lot of our processes—especially quoting and purchasing—were disconnected and disorganized. Bringing everything into one system has helped us consolidate and streamline in a big way. The reporting has been a huge upgrade as well. We now have real-time visibility into key metrics like on-time delivery, task completion rates, resource utilization, quote win rates, sales performance, and invoicing. On the operational side, we’ve been able to pivot quickly when on-time delivery starts to slip. Even with increased sales, our warranty jobs and hours have gone down, and we’ve significantly reduced our days to invoice by digitizing and automating that process in HighGear. All big wins. ### 2. We were able to see where outstanding items were in a workflow, understand the workload for each employee, and reassign quickly.
