Plum is India's leading employee health insurance and healthcare platform. Plum covers 6,000+ companies and over 600,000 insured lives, and has processed more than 5 lakh claims since launch.
Plum serves India's top companies, including Tata, Zomato, Swiggy, CRED, Meesho, PhonePe, and Urban Company, and the global companies operating here, including Atlassian, HubSpot, Notion, Postman, WeWork India, and Tinder. The same platform serves a 10-person startup and a 10,000-employee enterprise.
Plum offers group health insurance, group term life, and group personal accident cover. Plans can include parents, spouses, children, in-laws, and LGBTQ+ partners. Employees can extend their employer cover with personal health insurance, personal term life, and Super Top-Up plans bought in the app, which stay with them when they change jobs.
Every engagement starts with a benchmarking session comparing a company's current cover against what similar companies of the same size, stage, and industry offer. Companies can get a quote, configure a plan, and onboard a workforce in under 60 minutes, from as few as 7 employees. Endorsements run automatically through native integrations with Darwinbox, Keka, Razorpay Payroll, HiBob, and international HRIS platforms. Admins get one dashboard for endorsements, claims analytics, renewal intelligence, proforma invoices, and premium tracking, with claims ratio and cost trends laid out for finance as well as HR. Employee onboarding takes two minutes and covers profile setup, dependants, and e-health card issue.
Filing a claim takes 120 seconds. Median cashless discharge is 47 minutes, down from 180 minutes in 2019. Median reimbursement turnaround is 1.5 days, against a 12-day industry benchmark. 78% of claims resolve without the employee speaking to anyone, against an industry norm below 20%. Plum's claims NPS is 79, and it has held at that level as claims volume scaled 60x. When an insurer denies a claim, Plum contests it and recovers 88% of denied claims, returning ₹10 crore to employees last year.
A fifth of claims are for amounts under ₹5,000. A 24/7 helpline handles hospital coordination, ambulance booking, and pre-authorisation. Before hospitalisation, a treatment cost calculator shows expected cost, out-of-pocket liability, and typical length of stay. PolicyGPT answers policy questions in plain language and resolves 68% of queries on its own. ClaimsLens scans documents, pre-fills forms, and flags errors before submission.
Plum provides care directly, not only cover for hospitalisation. Employees get telehealth consultations, preventive health checkups, and mental health support over secure video and chat in more than 10 Indian languages. Plum's Health Wallet lets employees direct a benefits allowance towards dependant cover, wellness, or top-up plans without HR configuring each case. For an employer, this replaces six to eight separate vendor relationships with one accountable partner.
Plum Benefits Insurance Brokers holds an IRDAI Direct Broker licence (Life and General), Reg. No. 897, and is certified ISO/IEC 27001:2013, SOC 2 Type 2, and GDPR.
