**What do you like best about Coda?**

Is easier and more enjoyable to use than Microsoft Office or Google Drive. They continue to add more features regularly.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Sometimes I need to put together more formalized documents so I have to do that outside of Coda.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is solving an organization, sharing information with stakeholders, and work efficiency.

 ### 2. Building docs with structures

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Different thinking to find out solutions to the challanges by building pages and its releationships. In addition, the productivity gets better with using AI

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The setting for eg. Headlins is ony to set by clicking on the mous, I miss something more efficient

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Virtual co-working

 ### 3. Customizable and Easy to Learn Document Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erika B. | CEO and Chain Reaction Innovations Fellow, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda has been an easy and affordable way for us to centralize both our documentation and project management. It was easy for our team to understand and set up a custom structure which worked for our work flow. Once that was set up, the whole team was able to use it with minimal training (a few hours, maximum).

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Integration with typical microsoft office documents for collaborative editing is not as ideal as I would like. You can upload documents to the site, but we have yet to develop a way that several people can work on an office document at the same time and sync edits. There may be integrations with sharepoint that we have yet to discover which could be worth looking into if setting up a system.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is serving as a product management tool and document/data organization for our company. We have developed a custom project management segment to fit with our workflow, as well as a system to cleanly organize all company information. After struggling with consistent document management for a while, the clean workflow offered by coda has been easy for everyone to use and understand where things are stored.

 ### 4. Coda is a great option for teams looking for flexibility and integrations with other tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

* Flexibility
* Relational Data Stores
* Automations
* Integrations

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

* Lack of ability to structure docs
* Inability to search through all pages of all docs in a central area (think: Notion view of all docs)

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving making use case specific tools. We are able to self define how we do OKRs, Product Management, etc. It integrates with other tools, so we don't have to only use a specific tool (like Asana or Monday.com)

 ### 5. A Strong and Flexible Tool for Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashutosh B. | Researcher, Research, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

It offers a comprehensive range of tools and formulas that let you work with and analyze the data in your documents. Coda offers robust capabilities that can assist you in effectively managing and analyzing your information, from straightforward computations to complex data processing.
It excels in fostering teamwork among members.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It may be pricey compared to other productivity tools on the market.
Although it provides excellent versatility, there might be some modification restrictions. Advanced customization choices need technical know-how or coding expertise.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By enabling me to develop specialized documents, apps, and workflows that gather data and procedures in one location, it aids in resolving the issue of fragmented information.
Offering real-time editing, commenting, and work assignment options encourages team collaboration.

 ### 6. Coda is an awesome tool to create an internal wiki for the company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atri R. | Co Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is an incredibly powerful tool for building an internal wiki for our company. We use it to document and store everything from customer documents to our culture and code of conduct. As a very early-stage startup, one of the things we like the most about Coda is how flexible the pricing and usage is. You only need to pay for only the people who have to create new docs. Once a document has been created other users can keep adding pages to the doc without having a full-fledged Coda license. This is a major advantage of using Coda over its competitors. Coda also has very robust community where multiple templates are available in the way of doc packs and this has been very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Native Mac and Windows apps would have been a great addition to Coda. Often, while traveling or otherwise disconnected, the lack of a native app is an inconvenience.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a repository of information for everything in our company. We are an all-remote startup and having a tool like Coda makes things much easier for us. We are also planning to use Coda APIs along with Zapier like tools to build lightweight internal tools like leave management and tracking.

 ### 7. comprehensive document maker

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The number of templates you can use and make.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It's paid and it can be inaccessible to people who want to try it.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is helping me organize my tasks, while also allowing me to write notes more efficiently.

 ### 8. Best & Easiest Prototype Option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey R. | Web Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The most helpful thing about coda is the flexibility of the software.
It's easy to test an idea, build a wiki, or share detailed reports with a simple user experience. We've used it for everything from onboarding documents to our project management system while looking for a more robust solution for our (extremely complex) project system. We've also let new users try it out for notetaking and resources (internal wikis and knowledge bases). It is easy to hand off because it behaves similarly to a Google Doc or Google Sheets. The interface is user-friendly, and the editor options are where you expect them to be. Navigation is easy as well, coda allows for multiple levels of hierarchy in folders and can create a "chapter" heading-like feel for the document.

In addition, it can help us prototype applications. We've also used it to build a proof of concept for a Customer Resource Manager (CRM) and WordPress website content storage. For project management solutions, we've tied in multiple resources and used them to create various views of our data. Our project system in Coda was viewable by project managers or the staffer working on it. We've also been able to share our Coda docs with our clients and limit their access.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Some issues arise with Coda when you try to do exactly what you can in Google Sheets; the formulas and the syntax for formulas are slightly different (I mean, it's not a Google product, so...). However, the formula lookup is easy, and the devs crew at Coda are very responsive. Some integrations do not pull in all of the data that you want.

Some integrations don't work exactly the way you want them to, but most of the issues I've had when first using Coda (as an early adopter) have been solved over time with new additions, new releases, packs, and through requesting updates through their portal.

Some things I wish for from Coda: More header options - specifically h4 and h5. More font choices outside of serif and sans serif. And a less expensive option for their top tier if you only want document access privacy instead of the additional integrations.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had previously relied on Google Sites for a lot of our internal documentation, intranet sites, and resource wikis (knowledge bases), but then in 2020, Google retired Google sites in the previous iteration. The new Google Sites do not have a strong hierarchy, their forms are not as integrated as before, the sheets are not as integrated as before, and it is more difficult for many of our technology-avoidant staff. Coda has been a good stepping stone to figuring out what these intranet sites need before we build a new platform for their committee or sub-group. Coda docs have also provided a more efficient way for users to manage their own content, add attachments and images, and communicate asynchronously without email.

As a small team that manages many websites, it's also helped us wrangle our loose ends. With our Coda wiki, we can quickly update our information, link to our resources, add troubleshooting docs and links and keep it up-to-date. (Which is a critical aspect of team information that seems to get overlooked). We also have version history in our Coda, so if something gets updated or edited, it's easy to restore and see what it was previously without needing more information.

 ### 9. The most powerful, customizable tool I've ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David K. | User Experience Designer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The formulas allow me to do just about anything I can imagine. Not just sums and averages, either. You can display information, even make your own charts from scratch, or set an item's value based on its distant parents' values.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

A doc can get pretty slow if you have a lot of data plus a lot of formulas. There are ways to make your formulas more efficient, but I am not advanced enough to know that stuff.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spreadsheets are too stiff and stale. But apps are too opinionated, unintentionally forcing a certain methodology by their very structure (eg, there are projects and tasks and that's it). But Coda allows you to make your own structure (eg, projects, tasks, questions, issues, anything you want). Other apps have a due date field. But you can make any number of date fields if you want (eg, due, start after, started on, try to get done before, hard due date, actually completed on, review again at). It's things like that that make Coda stand out. Infinite personalization is what I've needed, and Coda is the first to provide it for me.

 ### 10. Knowledge Management Your Way

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin B. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I looked at a lot of knowledge management and project management tools for my editing agency. I'm a spreadsheet person, but using Excel meant not being able to share with my contractors. In my research, I found tools that either I couldn't afford or that didn't fit my business. Coda is spreadsheet based but with several different views and lots of functionality. By building my own tables and utilizing different views, I was able to create just what I needed to track Right Touch Editing's projects and share what I needed to. Thanks, Coda!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Learning how the Coda environment works takes some time. There are plenty of tutorials to learn from and templates to jump off from to help, but be prepared to set aside time to get comfortable in the environment. It's well worth the investment.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda helps me track my business more dynamically than Excel spreadsheets ever could. It lets users view data in the best way for them and allows them to connect data for a fuller picture with less clicking.

 ### 11. Best format for sharing content docs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ulrich E. | SEO, President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

No matter what items are part of your docs, if it's text, graphics, links, videos, tables - there is no better platform out there at the moment to integrate it all.
Plus, the Coda online app looks as if I paid a developer 100 Grand to finish it for me. Great work, Team CODA!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I wish there was a way to have the doc search function on the mobile app. That's really a drawback.
Besides that, I'd consider adding the option for custom domains, and custom SEO (like the link thumbnail when
posted on social media. A payment gateway for monetizing docs would also be a fantastic idea!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an easy way to create complex structures of pages with submenus without needing to be a programmer. The ability to connect pages via
cards is very useful, all links are dynamic, so even if I change a page's name it's not messing up the link. It's those little details that make Coda great!

 ### 12. It's like the ultimate front-end but for doc making

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn M. | Founder & NoCoder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

As a NoCoder, I need to be able to create docs to share with people that contain data-rich blocks of content. But, rather than having to copy and paste static data into my docs, with Coda I can sync my incoming data from external data sources using Coda Packs.

This makes building a doc more like building an app full of essential features! I have even created my own Coda Pack, so now I know how to sync data from ANY data source, even one of my own databases.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Mine is a specific use case but learning Packs has not been easy. I'd like to see more examples of simpler Pack blocks that walk through Pack features one at a time to build up my knowledge slowly. I felt like I was thrown a little bit in the deep end. Still, I got there in the end, and now I'm a Pack Builder!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is more than a doc builder which is where I was struggling with Coda's competitors i.e. they are not data-aware and sophisticated enough for my needs. Coda is solving that for me by treating data as a first-class citizen and not just a table of content.

This means that I can now build up detailed docs which also includes the insertion of dynamic data (think data like stock market values, for example), which I can present as a table, a chart, or in various other ways.

 ### 13. Flexible, Robust, and Fun!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabriel G. | Client Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is so flexible and intuitive. We looked into so many different platforms and programs for project management, team collaboration, and CRM. Coda hits all the marks; the best part is that we can do WHATEVER we want with it. Coda is essentially a beautiful and fun toolbox. I have zero background in databases, coding, or even excel, and I have loved my experience building with it. I've learned so much, and our process has completely changed our company and workflow.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda is a blank slate which is fantastic — and intimidating! It takes a while to build in but once you do, you have a custom platform that can grow and evolve with you. Coda offers so much support (including a free bootcamp!) that ease that blank slate feeling.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is a CRM, project managment tool, task-list, email platform, and creative document for my team. It allows us to seamlessly work together and collborate more than ever before.

 ### 14. Coda has changed my idea of an all-in-one solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabe G. | Sr. Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda's usability and flexibility has allowed me to create solutions for just about any problem or system I've encountered.

With a continuing drive for improvement, Coda is frequently adding value and features I didn't know I needed, but always find useful.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda lacks a few integrations that I've seen other document solutions have, and a few are behind a higher paywall than what an individual would be using.

When it comes to a mobile experience, Coda is lacking functionality that I want. There is little in the way of creating new documents or pages. Editing works fine, but it's not a full solution.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving all my problems with Coda:
As a software developer, I'm using Coda to project plan and track progress.
As a dad, I'm using Coda to keep track of important information for my family.
As a disc golfer, I'm using Coda to organize a team for a disc golf company.

Every area in my life that needs organization, Coda is capable of handling all I need to solve.

 ### 15. JIRA, but easier :)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J.T. S. | Sr. Product Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Big fan of the way Coda makes it easy to document product roadmaps, align PRDs and feature requests, and just overall making my life more readable.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The shortcuts/bookmarks aspects of Coda are a little barebones. Locking and unlocking docs can feel a little bit clunky at first

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is my primary hub for learning all things related to our product roadmap. It's a centralized repository for all these things, which makes me more productive.

 ### 16. Great collaboration tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I love that I can keep all of my meeting notes and goals in one spot. It's easy to use as a manager, when I meet with my direct reports and keep all of my notes in one spot.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It's a bit clunky to copy and paste and create new meeting dates. Simpler copy-paste functions would be great!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda takes the place of general Google Docs and keeps everything organized and easily shared.

 ### 17. Easy to use but somewhtat limited

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devora G. | CX Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

User friendly! - navigation is nice for the most part, faily easy to find the stuff
Love the templates - use these in a consistent basis
Support team gets back to me - very important!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

- Limitation on the templates: I'm still in need of more formats such as simpler templates for Ops Goals, design of tables, overview tables and more
- Not possible to make subpages visible for only a few people, all participants see the whole document regardless
- Unable to move docs from one folder to another
- Limitation on emoji icons
- Need more basic features for editing images (such as powerpoint has: shadows, outline, shape, arrows, etc.) which forces me to edit it outside Coda and then copy paste it
- Hard to manipulate tables, titles, etc.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not sure?

 ### 18. Incredibly versatile and useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Lead Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The best thing is how flexible it is - and there are heaps of useful templates you can copy to get started.

The formulas are great. But you have to learn them. I've built systems for product feedback which have been very powerful.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It can be hard to learn. The structure of docs, pages <> tables, can confuse peers using docs you have set up. BUT, you can still create report pages that are simple to use.

That's the tradeoff - using the 'view only' views with buttons is simple for others to use, but if they need to edit or create their own docs, that can prove challenging.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's letting me capture structured data, and gives me power over manipulating the data. Finally, it lets me create reporting views for other colleagues.

 ### 19. Making management easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monika n. | Project Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The search for a perfect project management tool ended with Coda for us. The versatility and usability of coda allowed us to unify data and follow the status of the work and led us to better team management.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Even though using coda is a delight, getting started can be tricky. Although it takes some time to adjust to the surroundings, several tutorials and starting points are available to aid in the process. The user experience of the mobile app can be enhanced.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my job, Coda is used to improving management in a fun way. It is fantastic for keeping track of work progress.
In my personal life, I use it to keep track of crucial details about my activities and to document them.

 ### 20. coda is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colm T. | Solution Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda bridges the gap between words and numbers by combining documents and spreadsheets, which is very cool. Coda goes on to implement the spreadsheet as a database, with all the advantages that that brings. Add in a powerful formula language and a pinch of web publishing, and you have everything you need to manage all your dynamic, structured documentation requirements.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The formula language is not intuitive (and somewhat different to the Excel philosophy). The learning curve is somewhat steep but well worthwhile.
I missed the ability to document tables, columns and formulas in situ, which would facilitate transparency.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda gives me hybrid, collaborative docs, allowing me to mix text and numbers with advanced formulas and automations to create wonderfully valuable applications.
I love the no-nonsense approach to formatting. Text is large or small, serif or san serif. Colour highlighting is limited etc. etc. This allows me to focus on the job at hand and coda to deliver an excellent responsive experience across devices.

 ### 21. Better than sliced bread

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel G. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Remarkably easy to use, but also very powerful. The tables and integrations with other apps make this app a game-changer for me. Every part of the app is very well thought out, and it's surprisingly easy to discover new things it can do just by using it normally. Every point of contact with this app, from the interface and features to documentation, support, and its community, is truly a pleasant experience. It's already an excellent product, but they continually and frequently improve performance and add new features. Even the pricing model is well thought out, making it accessible to any business, no matter the size.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Two-way cross-doc would be an improvement.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Coda to quickly and easily bring together data from multiple other apps. I'm able to keep track of the status of projects across multiple apps and report on consolidated data. So much easier and more pleasant to use than Google Sheets for this.

 ### 22. Coda.io is the perfect platform for managing structured and unstructured data.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gretchen T. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The Coda.io platform allows me to combine databases, spreadsheets, docs, & presentations onto 1 surface without writing code. I have tried others but always return to Coda. Key features that I like include: linked tables that serve as fully functioning databases, the ability to refer to data in my tables on the text canvas, the collapsible feature for text, and the overall ability to consolidate multiple disparate apps into one Coda doc canvas.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Learning Coda.io's formula syntax requires a slight learning curve. However, it is well worth it as the formula language is what prevents you from having to write code. Also, if you have experience with spreadsheets, over time, you will find that Coda's formula language is more intuitive and easier to build with than traditional spreadsheet formulas.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems I am solving with Coda:
During the pandemic, I used Coda to manage my three kids' learning content for at home learning. This allowed me not to have to log in to three different apps to help my kids with school. I also use Coda for the following:
project management, task management, notes, recipes, work reports, and paying bills. These are just a few of the ways I use Coda.

 ### 23. Coda is an impressive tool with a few shortcomings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carmen H. | Program Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda's ease-of-use vs powerful features is hard to beat. The relational tables, prebuilt templates, buttons, etc make accessing those deeper features available to everyone. It has a clean format and navigation.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

We're really struggling with the pay model. I wish there was a way to give everyone in our company doc maker access without it being insanely expensive. We also find the way that docs work to be somewhat confusing.. the fact that you have to tell people to add new folders is annoying. The access permissions at the doc-level vs page-level lead to access creation of new folders, making a clean format more messy. It would also be nice to have page-level analytics to tell if your pages were getting unique traffic.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using it as both an intranet (source of truth for employee handbook, benefits, etc) and as a wiki for cross-team collaboration, place to store end-of-week project updates, etc.

 ### 24. Collaboration and Documents!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hassan K. | Member Experience Associate, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Code is easy to navigate and has a library of building blocks that helps create documents and use them in ways you didn't imagine before. I like that our team can easily share templates on it and even use them to complement our existing knowledge base solution.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Code has a steep learning curve to do some basic things. It's easy to navigate but not so easy to use. The Coda team provides text-based and video tutorials and free sessions to help get the best out of Coda.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Coda to complement our existing knowledge base solution, share templates and documents, and collaborate on them. Over time, I got used to it, and it helps be more productive.

 ### 25. Coda: A valuable tool for daily tasks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie H. | Junior Research Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is an excellent choice for a comprehensive database, spreadsheet, and programmable application. The front end allows users to explore data and has buttons and views for other users, as well as a robust back end that secures data and automates procedures. Coda is also linked with Slack to enhance cooperation and communication choices. There is not much of a learning curve while using Coda, which means you can go from being a total beginner to a proficient coder in only a short amount of time! Not to mention, the visual appeal of Coda attracts even front-line staff due to its sophisticated look!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I wouldn't say it's a good thing that Google Sheets' table cannot be used to its full potential. In certain circumstances, it may not be easy to circumvent Coda's limiting formulae-use alternatives. Coda is unlike any other tool I've previously used; therefore, I must make an effort to determine which questions can be answered legitimately. Indexing a massive document's pages and locating the desired page might take some time.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that Coda addresses are the issue of centralizing storage for documents and spreadsheets. This allows users to have single-click access to each of them rather than having to catalog their whereabouts mentally.

 ### 26. Coda is a great tool for documentation and processes automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei B. | Sr. Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

First of all, if you look at coda as a place for internal documentation for your company - it looks nice. Typography works, pages look great and it's improve adoption for sure - people of your organization would not be afraid to use it.

The second thing is the flexibility that the coda gave to you. We moved a couple of internal processes and organize them through coda and rely on them from now on.

In addition to driving the adoption of new processes, we also set up a couple of automation that send messages to slack and emails so that everybody be on the same page on updates.

I can say that coda is one of the most important tools in my daily routine these days.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

As with all software, coda has its own limitations. We're still missing ability to have access to comments in automation (e.g. there is no way to set up reminders based on the absence of comments at the moment, while we need them). It's also require some understanding of data structures if you want to build the process on it (not just documentation). But overall anyway it's great.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal documentation storage and search; processes automation; internal communication archive; collaborative tool;

 ### 27. A stellar #nocode platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo F. | Head of Studies and ICT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

In my view, Coda has plenty of strong points, but I would pinpoint just these five:

1. Extremely powerful formula language, that goes well beyond that of competing apps.

2. Built-in automations, that do not depend on external services.

3. Extensible platform, by means of "Packs". The documentation and SDK used to build them are top-notch.

4. Straightforward way to create a personal maker profile, publish docs and packs, track their usage, and even monetize them easily.

5. Lively and helpful user community, hosted by Coda.

To summarize, Coda is, in my opinion, an exceptionally versatile, well-thought platform, that put simply, is a joy to use.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Three aspects that I consider could be improved:

1. In my experience, performance in complex documents is slightly sluggish at times, but I acknowledge this is a common chore in many similar, cloud-based platforms.

2. Despite formulas and automations being extremely powerful and suitable to tackle a wealth of use-cases, the doc-based, compartmentalized philosophy of Coda perhaps makes it not so suitable in knowledge management scenarios.

3. The document manager is pretty basic and lacks some features that are often taken for granted, i.e. subfolders, different views, drag and drop UI...

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Coda to solve multi-user process workflows that require event-driven automations and rich user interfaces. Besides that, I find the built-in charting capabilities extremely useful to build reporting dashboards without relying on external services.

 ### 28. A fair price with lots of customization options. Great for personal, business, or teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt M. | owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The customer support for the paid version has been amazing! It's also relatively easy to learn the basics and they have a great tutorial/help section to help get you up and running. I use it for personal stuff, and for business with my team to track jobs statuses and other details. I also like that you don't have to pay for every user, only users who need higher permsissions. Most apps charge you per user, even if they are only using a very basic part of the application. So Coda's pricing was great for us.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I wish it had an offline mode, since I am unable to pull up the app and view information if we are in an area with little or no mobile data service. Some of the terms used within the app take a little getting used to, so I get a little confused when trying to complete certain actions, but I guess that's probably pretty common when using a new application.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the office, we use it mostly to track the status of our jobs. We are using a table view with filters and sorting showing just the information we need in the order we prefer. In the field, our crew can just see current jobs, and they are able to leave notes, photos, update statuses, about the job as we go to keep everybody including the office on the same page. I love the option to use checkbox lists, bullet points, mentions (where other users will get a notification when we post something), and text formatting. This makes the information easy to view and follow the coversations.

 ### 29. Versatility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominic S. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

It is simple, uncluttered, and totally versatile. I use it for everything, in fact, it's my go-to place for anything I want to document, save, share, and collaborate on.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I love building scripts and codes, but I find the language challenging to understand. Since I only build new functionalities once in a while, I have to re-learn how to do certain things which should be intuitive by now.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda has become my main business repository. It's where I keep my CRM, my product development research, analysis, marketing strategies, plans, writings, etc.. If I have the choice between putting it on scattered individual documents, or putting it in Coda, then 100% it goes into Coda.

 ### 30. A great tool for structured collaboration!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace L. | Co-president, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is like a mini application. I love that I can design and build something that can engage and encourage people to add their feedback and input without feeling overwhelmed. Creating interaction points for the team is very intentional.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The least helpful point about Coda is that it's not so easy to share or invite people to Coda. With Airtable, it's easy to set up an invite link that can be set for certain type of access. It would be great to have something like that so people can choose what email address to join Coda with instead of me asking people which email address to use.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Coda to create a space for managing meetings and projects. We've found that Coda is phenomenal for creating a simple, intentional space to collaborate. It's helpful to create views that can create focus.

 ### 31. One of the best project management and swiss knife tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ABHISHEK G. | Strategy Head, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is one of the best of its kind, hands down! It is super customisable and the has a plethora of integrations and apps to extend the functionaing. Inbuilt tables and image viewers are the best!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Not much to dislike. Would recommend it to people and suggest Team Coda to advertise it more aggressively so that it gets more popular and frequently used.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management and information management are both being handled by Coda really well. It is great for documentation of company knowledge or personal information as well.

 ### 32. Incredibly powerful, easy to use, disappointing terms of service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda makes it easy to turn business logic into reality. I'm able to create functioning docs and apps faster than I could write stories back in the days when I ran a development team. UX is beautiful, and easy to use. Great community. Definitely a game changer in how you you can create dynamic solutions to so many of life's problems.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Ambiguous, kafka-esque terms of service, unfortunately, like so many silicon valley companies. They can cancel you for "submit[ing] any user Content ... that may create a risk of ... emotional distress ... to any other person or any animal" coda.io/trust/tos

What does that even mean? Not cool to know that you can lose everything at any time because they think you MAY create a RISK of causing emotional distress to any animal. Why not just say they can cancel you at any time for any reason? That would be more honest.

Makes me think it's not worth making big investments in the platform.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating relational databases (tables) to manage complex and dynamic information problems, both personal and business. Its changed the way my brain even thinks about data and information.

 ### 33. Coda is the most customizable and useful app that has come along in a very long time.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The way tables are handled in Coda is fantastic! It allows you to truly create relational tables with very little effort.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

My only complaint is the top tier pricing is too high for my budget. For a business that level makes sense. For an individual it does not. Other than that, it's FANTASTIC.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Give it a try, start small, but don't limit your concepts or ideas. Coda can replace most of your to do lists, note taking apps, databases, organizational apps, etc. You truly can have one app that helps you do most of your daily work.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started with Coda for personal use (see below), but now I'm rebuilding my freelance consulting business using Coda. It is so quick and easy to build solutions and so versatile, that I can solve many problems for many clients with less cost to them.

My personal use that got me started and falling in love with Coda. ⬇️

I am a busy, widowed, homeschooling mother of a large family. I organized our entire household on Coda with everything from legal information, medical information to tracking extended warranties, creating my to do list, running my blog posts, and everything you can imagine in between. I've created a library of our books, movies, and even track our 5 rescue cats and all their information. In addition to that I've built a very extensive to do list complete with automated features such as notifying me when extended warranties, credit cards or other things with expiration dates are going to expire. I track insurance and vehicle information including gas mileage and maintenance costs! I'm working currently on tracking our budget and expenses in Coda to see if I can get rid of using Quicken for these functions.

The benefit is rather than having a dozen or more different apps that I have to check I just use Coda for EVERYTHING. And I mean everything! Whether it is tracking my sleep or my Bible reading or keeping a list of links of articles I want to read, I pretty much manage everything in my life with one app now.

Because it does offer truly relational databases, I can link things together easily. I'm also having my children who are still in school begin learning how Coda can help them to get organized, make plans, etc.

 ### 34. Coda is the best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoe S. | director of climate resilience, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I have convinced/forced all my colleagues to use Coda. Its a great way to combine the benefits of google docs, sheets, drive and calendar in one place. Its a great way to create internal onboarding/workplanning documents as well as external trainings and information guides. I love all the integrations, filters and meeting templates!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I wish editing documents was as seamless as google docs. Track changes would be nice. But other than that I have no complaints!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is an everything in one platform. I no longer have to use google docs, asana, a calendar etc. Its a great place to add all links in one place to find for later as well

 ### 35. The Doc that'll save your work (or personal) life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keora D. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I love how I can easily customize coda docs to however fits my needs. It makes managing any projects , note taking, and collaborating a breeze once you understand their language.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I would love to see improvements on a couple of things.
1: Locking specific cells in a table vs a page can help ensure that certain things do not get edited
2: Being able to drag (or double-click) on a cell and have it copy & paste whatever is in that cell to the next - this will make manual efforts more efficient with table making

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is solving our teams way of managing projects but it's also changing the game on how to take better more effective notes. It makes looking back on info much less chaotic and has a simple sophisticated user interface which we love!

 ### 36. Coda has unlocked for me a whole new world of low-code solutions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandru M. | Programmatic Data Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The most helpful feature is the flexibility of the formulas - you can use them in tables but also in the canvas, buttons, controls, etc.
Other upsides:
* show formula of simple filters
* personal/collaborative mode for control fields

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I find it harder to make docs look good (compared to Notion for example).
Also, the fact that table relationships are one-way poses problems for some use cases.
Other downsides:
* lack of page level security (ability to share only a page/subpage, not the whole doc
* mobile app is slow (especially if the database is not very small)

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used Coda to build a Project Management / Planner Doc and to document existing flows, processes, basically start a Knowledge Base.
It helps centralize most cross-team projects and gives us a better overview and tracking of what needs to be done.

 ### 37. Highly Reccomend

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I think Coda is easy to use and is very organized. I love the ability to have a shared document that all of our staff can work on at once and that updates in real time. You can be really creative with it and use it for almost anything.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I think the only downside is that it has a sharp learning curve - it can be tricky to understand it at first and does take some training. But this is no different from any other software. It is also easy to make a mistake/ruin an entire dataset if you don't know what you're doing.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Coda for tracking assignments and cases. It's beneficial to us as we have one shared document now that updates in real-time rather than a million different excel spreadsheets that have to be saved and re-uploaded.

 ### 38. A comprehensive set of tools in a deceivingly simple interface to augment your workflow.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul S. | Manufacturing Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

An infinitely programmable document and the ability to scale without compromising the structure. Combine with an active community to help seek out more ideas and solutions for my docs.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Lack of customizations to charts and how the data is presented.
Lack of global support. As right now it is US-based; it is difficult to talk to someone live on the job because of the time difference.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It acts as a pseudo productivity app and perhaps as a proof of concept for the management system. Hence, it's easy to demonstrate an idea without having to invest in a dedicated development team.

 ### 39. Wonderful Project Management Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susie L. | Social Media Lead , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I like how easy it is to collaborate with my team members and keep track of edits and suggestions.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I dislike that all users can edit forms and workspaces. I frequently accidentally edit the backend of the forms.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is solving the problem of having various channels of project work and conversations. It streamlines work timelines.

 ### 40. Very handy to write notes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Flora Z. | Senior Product Manager, Online Growth, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The notes features are robust with the ability to easily add rich content and integrate with Jira.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The mobile app seems to be missing key features like uploading pictures.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's making project management easier by helping me coordinate amongst the working groups.

 ### 41. Like Wordpress for Process Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geoffrey D. | Creative Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Adaptable, scalable, flexible. Coda is a great incentive to do and learn all sorts of things. All the data you put in becomes executable in so many ways. You're always able to consider what you've already learned and how you can apply the content and/or methodology for future outcomes.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

They've taken on quite a significant challenge so some of the expectations of app performance require a bit of patience. It's also disrupting most out-of-the-box solutions, so managing competition and staying true to their own product has sometimes been difficult.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda solves almost every productivity problem. But if I were an educator and wanted a way to introduce almost any student population to computational logic and design, I'd do it with Coda.

 ### 42. Phenomenal platform -- once you get past the learning curve.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan H. | VP of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

It's exceptionally flexible. You can create nearly any kind of document or even a small application or workflow tool with Coda. The table structure gives you lots of ways of organizing and viewing data.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It can be tough to learn how it works. I've struggled to get widespread option, especially with our CEO, because it's not as intuitive as other platforms.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a place to keep our ideas centrally located and organized. Coda has created a superpowered wiki for us, plus helped us avoiding buying other software solutions.

 ### 43. The best no-code, super doc tool I've ever used!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilyssa R. | Senior Learning & Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is more than just a document editor. I've been able to create team hubs, project trackers, newsletters, event invites, book clubs, Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, personal goals trackers...and the list goes on and on. I tell everyone I know about the power of Coda.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda's advanced tools can take a steep learning curve for folks who are not familiar with basic logic that we'd see in Excel, etc. It's fine for me, but a focused course on logic would be amazing.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is our solution for team hubs, trackers, and onboarding emails/documentation. At first we used it just to store information and get feedback, but all the of amazing Packs allow us to do so much more!

 ### 44. I really love how Coda works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff W. | Founder & Principal, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

It's really easy to use and I love their pricing model, which I prefer over their main competitor, Notion. Pricing is based on doc makers and not on viewers, which I think is the appropriate way to go.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I can't think of anything at this time that I dislike about Coda.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many of my clients are SMBs that don't have massive budgets to invest in work and operations-related technology. They also have a significant percentage of their workforce that work virtually, which often creates challenges with communication and engagement. Coda is cost-effective and highly efficient at enabling my clients to share information, engage with their employees and allow collaboration to happen in real-time.

 ### 45. Great tool to bring information and people together

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kariem H. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is great to import and transform data quickly. You can import from a CSV add some column with special functions and have a good overview of the data in no time. Convert the table to a chart and see even more.

We are using coda to get a better overview on our invoices. We import monthly exports from Stripe and combine them with the manual invoices and with Coda we can pull any report we want out of this data.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Sometimes it feels as if Coda uses a lot of resources. Working with a lot of data also sometimes causes Chrome to freeze. Anyways, this is not a big problem as all data is always saved.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Try it out and play around. Subscribe to updates from the community (https://community.coda.io/) to stay updated on new features.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can get data from a few different sources and show it to my team. Everyone sees where the data comes from and can add more information or do other transformations so that we all can get more insights.

 ### 46. Bring out the hidden coder from inside you

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Graham H. | Life coach, mentor and facilitator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Great onboarding experience with good videos explaining the core concepts. Fantastic and responsive support, great pricing model so you can get a lot done before paying for a subscription. easy to use and comprehensive packs that allow me to integrate with other apps. And most of all, the comprehensive system of documents, tables, formulas, buttons and forms that allows me to bring my ideas to life with minimal coding

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The mobile experience is not as strong as the desktop so it is hard to bring what I need to mobile devices as easily as to a PC browser. Would be nice to have an easy mindmapping capability for brainstorming either as a pack or in coda formulas - but that's just my pet need because of what I'm trying to build

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm trying to create a system to support life coaching with a specific focus on people at "pivot points" in their life, looking for purpose in life. Coda is the only product I could find that allows me to develop the solution I have in mind

 ### 47. AMAZING and INNOVATIVE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura C. | Legal Operations Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is incredibly malleable. You can create exactly what you need if you understand how it works. Our entire team runs on Coda, and more people throughout the company are incorporating it into their workflows. In addition, the packs and automation make this an unbeatable software!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The one thing I can think of is that, initially, it has a steep learning curve. Because it is so flexible and malleable, you have to spend a bit more time learning how to use it. But, once you do, the pay off is HUGE!

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Start with the Learn Doc. Take your time in learning how to use it. If you do that, you'll find yourself using Coda for everything!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving several problems. First of all, it is my personal organization central. Second, it's helping our team conduct more efficient and meaningful meetings. Third, it's helping us onboard new team members and have all the information they need in one beautiful Coda doc. Fourth, it's helping us with cross-functional project management; Coda houses processes that involve several teams across our organization. Finally, it functions as our knowledge hub.

 ### 48. Powerful Wiki tool with some learning curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is a very capable tool with powerful features like buttons and a variety of packs to integrate other systems. Thereby it can be used to even create some small business applications and offers everything to map out business processes and not only documenting things.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The rich feature set comes at some cost. The complexity leads to a steep learning curve at the beginning and defines an obstacle for the adoption among the team. For a single admin person, it's quite doable to get to know everything but if you implement in your organisation you are quickly far ahead the teammates who are not dealing with the tool in such depth. Furthermore, compared to other tools, the overall usability is a weakness.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly the documentation of business processes and company knowledge. It helps us to put a semantic layer on top of all existing information and assets, so people have a one-stop-shop for all company information and do not need to search for things in drives and folders.

 ### 49. Coda is if Airtable & Notion had a baby & that baby was a genius

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The ability to organize my structured data (aka numbers in spreadsheets) with unstructured data (aka Word or Google Docs) into a formulaic narrative with a single source of truth.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The Workspace section can get a little crowded and occasionally it is hard to find the right doc that I am looking for. My workspace folder hierarchy can get messy at times but it isn't a major problem because once I am in the Coda doc everything is fine.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda allows me to create a formulaic narrative. For example, if I want to draw a conclusion that summarizes a lot of structured data. I can call upon that structured data from within the unstructured sentence that I have written to summarize the data.

 ### 50. Impressive amount of flexibility and amazing support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The flexibility! Coda allows me to easily create very tailored and specific views for the multiple contexts I would like to think about numerous projects in flight and how I would want to report details on them to different audiences. Another huge plus is the amount of existing tools CODA can integrate into our existing work suite.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda is so flexible and powerful a tool I almost feel overwhelmed with the possibilities of where to take it! While there are a handful of great out-of-the-box templates to leverage and many support resources available, for someone without prior experience with project management tools as powerful as this one, it was a bit to get my arms around at first.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Coda for Project Management: "Sprint" like task management with existing teams and reporting how those tasks translate into deliverables for different functional units on the client side.
