"A flexible tool for organizing virtual events and hybrid team collaboration"
What do you like best about Gather?

What I like most about Gather is how easy it makes virtual collaboration feel. I use it in a business context for team meetings, onboarding sessions, and occasional training events. The customizable spaces create a more interactive environment compared to regular video calls. Moving around the virtual workspace helps keep people engaged, and the platform feels simple enough for anyone to join without technical issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

The only downside is that performance can drop slightly if too many people join the same space, especially if their hardware isn't great. Also, some customization features require extra time to configure properly. Still, once everything is set up, the overall experience is smooth and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gather Makes Remote Work Feel Less Isolating with Spatial Audio and a Fun 8-Bit Office"
What do you like best about Gather?

The gamified 8-bit interface is fantastic. It makes meetings feel more engaging and less tiring overall. I also really enjoy being able to customize our office space with furniture and interactive objects, which adds a fun, personal touch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

The platform can be pretty demanding on older laptops. If I have too many tabs open while using Gather, my computer’s fans start spinning loudly, and I sometimes notice lag in the video feed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Interactive Virtual Office with Great Customization"
What do you like best about Gather?

I liked the amount of customization Gather offered, not just for the office, but also for the characters. It was fun to be able to import different games and change characters to look more like myself, which added a personal touch. The games provided a fun way to take a break and have some fun. Additionally, I found the interactive aspect of Gather compelling enough that we switched from using Discord. The setup was quite easy, mostly because of the tutorials and resources available online. What do you dislike about Gather?

I think a minor issue is keeping up with seasonal decorations. Like, if I check now, my Gather still has the same decorations from Halloween last year. It's something that could be good to improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Revolutionized Our Virtual Office Experience"
What do you like best about Gather?

I like Gather for its usability and portability. It's slightly heavy for lighter systems, but it works well for me, especially on a MacBook. I really appreciate the customization options and the ability to pop up and reduce the size of the Gather application. The feature that allows checking on teammates is the best part for me. It's really valuable for collaborating within my team, allowing us to talk and share while sitting in our own rooms, even working remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

Right now, Gather is live with availability for more than 100 people, but it would be beneficial for bigger companies if it could support even more users. Our company has around 300 plus users, and we're on Gather version one, which makes it difficult for us to move to version two if there will be increased user capacity. "Revamped Remote Collaboration for B2B Teams"
What do you like best about Gather?

I really like how Gather naturally recreates the casual, spontaneous collaboration of a physical office. It makes remote work feel much more connected and efficient. I appreciate the spatial layout that helps us stay focused while being available, which is crucial for building complex software. The platform's customizability and professionalism are excellent for our B2B work. We can create team floors, quiet zones, meeting rooms, and private areas for client demos, which keeps our workflow organized without feeling cluttered. The initial setup was straightforward and intuitive, letting us design a layout that matches our real office structure, making everyone feel familiar right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

One area where Gather struggles a bit is performance during longer sessions with many people online. The interface can feel laggy, and spatial audio occasionally cuts out or distorts, which can disrupt pair‑programming or architecture discussions where clear, stable communication is critical. We’d also like to see deeper integration with our enterprise toolchain—things like Jira, GitHub, and our Slack alerts. Right now, we have to switch between apps to check tickets or pull requests, which breaks our flow. More native widgets or notifications inside Gather would keep us focused longer. "A creative and engaging solution for remote collaboration"
What do you like best about Gather?

Gather provides an engaging and immersive virtual workspace experience that feels far more human than standard video conferencing tools. With features like spatial audio, customizable office spaces, and avatar-based interactions, collaborating becomes more natural and enjoyable, particularly for remote teams. It also enhances informal communication and strengthens team connections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

While Gather stands out for its innovation, it can be somewhat demanding on older computers. Additionally, newcomers might require a brief adjustment period to become familiar with navigating and interacting within the virtual environment. When a large number of users are connected simultaneously, there may be a slight decrease in performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Virtual Office Experience"
What do you like best about Gather?

I really like using Gather as my primary virtual home office workspace to communicate with my colleagues. It reduces the friction of meeting remotely, allowing me to just walk over to a desk if someone is active and start talking instead of checking availability and sending messages back and forth. The low friction meetings with video, audio, and screen sharing are fantastic, especially since screen sharing works really well, which is very important for our small software team. I appreciate being able to immediately start communicating after walking over to someone's desk, and that both or even multiple parties can share their screens instantly. Switching between streams and resizing them works really well, and the quality is excellent, especially for code readability. Additionally, I find it very helpful that I've been able to integrate Gather with my Google Workspace calendar for events and meetings, which works very well. The setup was easy too, just joining via an office/invite link, setting up my mic, camera, and name, and I was ready to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

I think it's currently missing some personalization options beyond the predefined tiles and items. I would love to create/upload custom items for our office. There are also some more niche apps missing for activity display, which is far from being a deal-breaker, but would be nice improvements. Also, there have been some minor bugs requiring reconnecting/reloading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brings a Human Feel to Virtual Events, Needs Performance Boost"
What do you like best about Gather?

I like how Gather brings back the natural, human feel of in-person interaction to remote and virtual events, which standard video calls just can't replicate. The spatial, game-like layout allows people to walk around, join small group conversations, or have quick 1:1 chats spontaneously, boosting engagement for both internal team meetings and external client events. I also appreciate how customizable and easy to set up the spaces are. We can build branded rooms, booths, and workshop areas without coding, making our virtual events look professional and unique. It's stable, works smoothly across Germany and Europe, and doesn’t require complicated downloads or confusing onboarding for participants. I also enjoy the flexibility of customization—we can create everything from small team rooms to large, branded event spaces with booths, meeting areas, and interactive elements that match our brand perfectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

One area where Gather falls short for our business use is performance with larger events. When we have 50+ people in the same space, the interface can start to lag or feel slow, especially for users with weaker internet connections in Germany. It works great for smaller team meetings or workshops, but scaling up to bigger virtual events requires extra planning to avoid delays. These are the concrete improvements that would make a real difference: Large-event performance mode, better automatic room balancing, and optimized audio for big groups. "Brings Remote Teams Together with Fun, Human Interactions"
What do you like best about Gather?

What I like best about Gather is how naturally it brings back the feeling of being “present” with your team, even when everyone’s remote. The spatial setup makes interactions feel more human—you can casually walk up to someone, start a quick conversation, or join a group without scheduling a meeting. It’s great for spontaneous chats, team bonding, and creating an office-like vibe that most video tools miss. On top of that, it’s easy to use, customizable, and actually fun, which makes people want to show up and stay connected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

One thing I dislike about Gather is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users who aren’t used to the spatial layout. It takes some time to understand how movement, audio zones, and interactions work. Performance can also dip on slower machines or weaker internet connections, which can interrupt the experience. While it’s great for casual collaboration, it’s not always the best fit for very structured or large meetings, where traditional video conferencing tools can feel more straightforward. "Engaging Virtual Experience with Customization Perks"
What do you like best about Gather?

I love the customization in Gather, from designing the avatars and individual desks to the entire virtual office space. We even tried replicating our physical office in Gather. This customization adds an interesting element to how we present ourselves and interact with each other in the virtual space, making virtual office visits 'possible.' Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gather?

I think it's quite heavy on some devices. The voice and video features, the last time we used Gather, was quite confusing at times. Took some time really, and it wasn't sustainable. People, myself included, was more into the customization rather than the interaction. And it was harder to gather events there since they had either slow laptop or internet.
