I really like using Gather as my primary virtual home office workspace to communicate with my colleagues. It reduces the friction of meeting remotely, allowing me to just walk over to a desk if someone is active and start talking instead of checking availability and sending messages back and forth. The low friction meetings with video, audio, and screen sharing are fantastic, especially since screen sharing works really well, which is very important for our small software team. I appreciate being able to immediately start communicating after walking over to someone's desk, and that both or even multiple parties can share their screens instantly. Switching between streams and resizing them works really well, and the quality is excellent, especially for code readability. Additionally, I find it very helpful that I've been able to integrate Gather with my Google Workspace calendar for events and meetings, which works very well. The setup was easy too, just joining via an office/invite link, setting up my mic, camera, and name, and I was ready to start.

I like how Gather brings back the natural, human feel of in-person interaction to remote and virtual events, which standard video calls just can't replicate. The spatial, game-like layout allows people to walk around, join small group conversations, or have quick 1:1 chats spontaneously, boosting engagement for both internal team meetings and external client events. I also appreciate how customizable and easy to set up the spaces are. We can build branded rooms, booths, and workshop areas without coding, making our virtual events look professional and unique. It's stable, works smoothly across Germany and Europe, and doesn’t require complicated downloads or confusing onboarding for participants. I also enjoy the flexibility of customization—we can create everything from small team rooms to large, branded event spaces with booths, meeting areas, and interactive elements that match our brand perfectly.

I use Gather for work, and it's great that my coworkers are easily accessible. I love that I can customize my character and office. It's helpful that it has a chat, and I can see who is active. It's really nice to have something that shows off my personality when working remotely, and the way others decorate their office gives me talking points.
