Helps to free up storage space through paper shredding after scanning them. It saves time looking for documents. It reduces the need for paper use since documents are stored in a digital archive hence saving the environment. It is easy to use and can be used by any level employee. It has a simple and intuitive web browser interface Its implementation is also easy without requiring lots of technical knowhow to set it up. In addition, it offers a customizable index fields to allow user capture document specific data that is critical for filing or searching. Frequency of use is not limited. **What do you dislike about Filestar?** It has an efficient customer support who ensure that a client's issue is solved. It is of great help in eliminating paperwork and saves time when searching for documents. Its a life saver at work **What problems is Filestar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helps to save time looking for documents Helps reduce the space one needs to file documents since they are stored in a digital archive. This also saves a money since no or less paper is used. It's super easy to convert files and does an excellent job in the translation of the file content. I would recommend it for this function. **What do you dislike about Filestar?** We have primarily used Filestar for the conversion of files. When we have tried to use Filestar for the Merge function, it has had issues with merging the content correctly. **What problems is Filestar solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed something quick and simple to convert files for customers and clients. We found that Filestar did the job well and suited our needs just fine for the purpose we needed it for. ### 6. It can convert, replace, extract, and perform many other file operations on multiple files simultaneously. It is the most comprehensive file converter I have tried (and I have tried a significant amount). Converting files is fast and straightforward. For example, it even handles obscure conversions (like converting ppt to HTML). It also takes less time to convert a file with the app than to open or view some files in their native program. It also can extract data from multiple files, replace that data across multiple files, rename the files, and many other file operations. The app is updated regularly with new features, and old parts keep getting better. One of the reasons for this is that the developer is very responsive to user requests. For example, recently, I was faced with a need to extract then update the hyperlinks in over 500+ word documents. I put in a suggestion, and one month later, I have a solution that took me 15 minutes versus the days it was originally going to take me to open every single file and replace the links. **What do you dislike about Filestar?** The program itself has a massive amount of skills, and the search function is fantastic. However, the list of possible skills and explanations is available on their website, not within the program itself. It would be great to have either the skills listed within the main program or at least a link on the program's main page to the list of skills. **What problems is Filestar solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's a swiss army knife to convert, replace, extract, and perform many other file operations on multiple files simultaneously in a fast and effective manner without needing to buy various other individual programs, each serving a separate task. ### 7. FileStar has become my one-stop-shop for file operations **What do you dislike about Filestar?** No Mac and web version yet. Only Windows so far. Would be *very* interesting with a command line interface, available on the Mac, and as an API to easily integrate into workflows. **Recommendations to others considering Filestar:** Use the chat & support function is you have any issues - the team is very responsive and helpful **What problems is Filestar solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a consultant, I tend to receive files is many different formats and processing them in batch historically has made me either find a specific piece a software for the task (that takes time and potentially does not solve the problem), find a website specifically for this (where my data may not be safe) or build a script myself (that takes time). With FileStar, I now have a go-to application for most of my file operations. ### 8. The integration with the file-explorer works well, though can be a bit slow to boot up. **What do you dislike about Filestar?** Some transformations ("skills") are rough and could use some more parameters to customize the end result. There is also to orchestration of running skills in a pipeline; it is however easy enough to run them one by one so still a huge time save! **What problems is Filestar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Bulk saving invoices (in word) as PDF; Converting images between formats. ### 12.
