Who is Filestage pricing best suited for?

Filestage's pricing is best suited for small to mid-market teams in creative and marketing-intensive industries. G2 reviewers from marketing and advertising, media production, animation, graphic design, and e-learning make up the majority of users, with small businesses being the most represented segment. The Starter tier fits growing agencies and small creative teams needing unlimited projects and structured client review workflows. The Business tier suits scaling teams requiring automation and advanced integrations. G2 reviews from mid-market companies in media production and marketing highlight strong adoption for managing multi-stakeholder approval processes. Enterprise pricing targets large organizations with compliance needs, though most G2 feedback centers on small and mid-market use cases.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Filestage?

Filestage's free tier is limited to 1 active project, 5 new files per month, and 2 reviewer groups, making it suitable only for individuals testing basic proofing workflows. Filestage's paid plans unlock substantially more capability. The Starter tier at €199 adds unlimited projects, unlimited files, due dates, version comparison, custom branding, and password-protected links. The Business tier at €329 introduces AI reviewers, automations, project templates, workflow integrations, and API access. G2 reviewers frequently cite version tracking, due date reminders, and multi-stage review workflows as key drivers for upgrading. Filestage also offers an Enterprise tier with SSO, audit logs, and dedicated support for large organizations requiring compliance and security controls.

Is Filestage considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers of Filestage generally express strong satisfaction, with the majority awarding 4.5 to 5 stars. Users across marketing, media production, animation, and e-learning consistently highlight time savings, streamlined approval workflows, and reduced email chains as core benefits. However, a few G2 reviewers note that Filestage's pricing can feel steep for freelancers and smaller teams, with one reviewer specifically mentioning limited options for smaller businesses without paying premium prices. Another noted pricing models can be confusing. Despite these concerns, the high volume of positive ratings alongside feature praise suggests Filestage delivers strong value for growing teams and agencies, making it a worthwhile investment when collaborative review volume justifies the cost.

"Less confusion between review rounds and final approvals"
4/5
Describe the project or task Filestage helped with:

The service task involves setting up and managing Reviewer Groups, ensuring that internal and external feedback processes are streamlined and efficient. This includes using tools like Compare Versions and Comment Labels to maintain clarity and organization throughout the review process. Additionally, the task requires the identification and consolidation of duplicate templates to prevent workflow confusion and maintain consistency across projects. What do you like best about Filestage?

Reviewer Groups are the Filestage feature that has improved our review process the most. They let us separate internal review, legal checks, and client approval while still keeping every comment and decision connected to the same file. File Proofing also makes a big difference: reviewers can annotate images, PDFs, video, audio, and even websites directly. That saves me from having to interpret vague feedback like “change the thing in the top-right corner” and turn it into something the design team can actually act on. Reviewers can also join through a link without creating an account, which removes a surprising amount of friction with clients. Compare Versions becomes especially useful by the second or third round, when small edits start to add up. We can place versions side by side and, on Business, use overlay or text comparison to catch changes that are easy to miss. Comment Labels help us separate copy, branding, legal, and production feedback, so each team can focus on what actually belongs to them. For recurring work, we rely on Project Templates, Automations, due dates, and reminders to keep approval stages moving, without someone having to manually chase every reviewer. "How We Lost Trust in Filestage"
0/5
What do you like best about Filestage?

The platform is intuitive, easy to use, and makes creative reviews much more organized. Centralizing feedback and approvals in one place helped our team collaborate efficiently for several years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filestage?

My biggest concern is not the product itself but the company's customer policy. Our subscription was changed to a plan with a 76% price increase without our explicit consent. Although we contacted support immediately and requested a refund, explaining that we had never agreed to the new subscription, the request was denied even after an executive review.

For a SaaS company, trust is just as important as features. We ultimately found another platform with comparable, and in some areas better, functionality at a lower cost. The software was easy to replace; the trust was not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
