## About Files.com
Files.com is the secure, cloud-native File Orchestration Platform built to replace the patchwork of legacy file infrastructure: aging SFTP servers, heavy MFT suites, separate file-sharing tools, and the custom scripts holding them together, all with one system. IT teams stop losing hours to patching servers and chasing failed transfers, while business users get a clean interface that works for technical and non-technical teams alike. Files.com consolidates every file flow into a single platform with centralized access controls, policy enforcement, and complete audit visibility. It presents every storage system (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, on-premises NAS, and 50+ other connectors) as one governed namespace, so multiple clouds and on-prem storage work as one. Automate mission-critical flows with no-code workflows, or build against a full REST API, SDKs, and a Terraform provider. Files.com speaks SFTP, FTPS, FTP, WebDAV, and AS2, exposes an S3-compatible endpoint, and supports OpenPGP and GPG, connecting modern apps, multiple clouds, and legacy partners without middleware. AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest, fine-grained role-based access, SSO, SCIM, and MFA, and immutable audit trails support SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, and ITAR requirements. Built cloud-native with elastic scaling, there are no servers to patch or manage. Files.com is ranked #1 for Managed File Transfer in Gartner Peer Insights and scores #1 across every attribute on G2's MFT grid. More than 4,000 organizations trust it, including Equifax, Rag & Bone, Cognizant, and Michelin, with over 15 years of operation and zero breaches. Go live fast with expert-led onboarding included.

## Files.com Reviews
 ### 1. Very Likely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin C. | IT analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Ease of use - to add folders and users, plenty of space - sharing file urls

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I like everything.

I was looking for a way to HOST a dynamic XML feed URL and I could not figure out a way to do that here.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ability to see files that are being sent from my various vendors to each other. It allows me to have oversite into the contents of the files and request edits without asking each vendor for access to cumbersome FTP servers.

 ### 2. Poor Support and Platform

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I like how the tool allows you to store data and has integrations with AWS. However, when something fails or doesn't integrate properly the files.com team is horrible at getting it corrected.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

The amount of time the files.com team is taking to fix my issue. I have set up pushed to take data out of files.com and into AWS and the jobs get hung. The support team sees the broken process on their end and has yet to fix it. But they have no problem charging me each month for this tool. Unnacceptable.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are not solving any of my problems at the moment because they cannot figure out how to get my data out of their system

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> I really appreciate you submitting this honest review. As the CEO of Files.com, I am terribly sorry for your negative experience. I sent your review to our customer support and product teams and we would really like to make things right.

We pride ourselves on having a service that "just works."

If you're open to it, I would love to set up a Zoom call to connect you directly with the senior leadership team and myself so we can ensure your issues are solved. Please email support@files.com and reference this response. We'll get it scheduled.

 ### 3. Solid file sharing tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam L. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The platform is very stable and tooling to address a very wide range of permission and access controls. Also the ability to specify data storage location per folder, and server-side file-level encryption are really useful for complex needs.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I don't have anything meaningful to say that I dislike.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From time to time we have exiting or new customers who need to send us large files for processing, Files.com provides the security and flexibility to quickly address customer needs.

 ### 4. Files.com is the answer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The simplicity of files.com service makes onboarding effortless.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I waited a few extra weeks to do this review because of this question. Can I get back to you?

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

Don't rely on flashy services without full integration. Files.com is the answer.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This service mitigates support calls related to storage issues across my production and their vendors. It simplifies and federates the login process with SSO.

 ### 5. Fast and reliable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick F. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

One of the most used features is the possibility to provide our customers with an upload place to send us files in a fast and easy way.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

There really isn't anything we dislike in the service.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem for us is to provide our customers a place where they can upload files for us, and files.com gives us that.

 ### 6. Reliable FTP platform with lots of integration, security, monitoring and governance options

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix P. | Director of Data Analytics, Science, and Infrastructure, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Files.com is easy to use yet offers the flexibility to configure it to various use cases and set up security as needed. Also, their support is great.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

There are plenty of log messages of what actions happened when, browsing through them can be a bit slow.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy-to-use SFTP platform to exchange files with external parties

 ### 7. Not cheap, but complete.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix L. | devops developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Files.com provides a very flexible product that is almost guaranteed to satisfy your file transfer needs.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Files.com is more expensive than other alternatives. They tend to buy competition instead of lowering their price (e.g. exavault purchase in 2021)

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My business needs a flexible and managed SFTP solution for our clients, which files.com successfully provides.

 ### 8. Easy to Launch, Implement, Fast, Scalable and Fun!! The Only Cloud Integration tool you need!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard O. | Media Traffic Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

This multi-platform, single sign-on, file asset automation, Hybrid Cloud Integration site is the Champion in the media space. Files.com provides value with the infrastructure that solves the "issues" accossiated with file management and allows us to stay connected to all our cloud environments and on-prem resources without security risk to our network or assets. Files.com is a MUST!!

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

There is nothing I dislike with Files.com. Files.com puts it's Admin users in the Drivers seat this allows us to customize user permissions and access points. Additionally the staff is always friendly, fast to respond, and open to innovative ideas or suggestions that their clients may have.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

Schedule a one-on-one Zoom session today with a Files.com Account Executive and present the issue you're trying to solve, and they should have the solution for you.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to all major cloud providers and on-premise servers through single sign-on access eliminates the need to have several access points for the same asset. We now have 100% Accuracy and continuity with automated asset mirroring across user profiles. Integration with other cloud providers and servers allows us to be more creative and customize our experiences, such as auto transcription, proxy generation, transcoding, delivery, and notifications. The desktop app as a virtual drive also offers an even easier automated file access point coupled with the easy-to-use Web UI, FTP, and SFTP. The Utility and Versatility are Endless!!

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Richard - Thank you so much for taking the time to review Files.com and being a loyal customer and partner!

 ### 9. Great Product - Terrible Support

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caleb A. | Principal Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Easy to use API for account management. Allows us to quickly provision and de-provision users using nothing more than a script
Customer-facing branding options.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

They keep reneging on our contract, charging us for users that are not active or have been deactivated. We have several times had to reach out to get our account credited due to poor billing.

API Has changed several times without an announcement. When we reached out about these issues to our account rep, we were told that the API changes were the "intended behavior", even though the documentation did not reflect that.

When negotiating the contract, we had to reference everything that was promised to us in writing, as the account manager would often forget the terms of the contract due to not taking notes, or tell us that we were wrong about the details of the contract (even though we had it in writing)

New "per seat" account model doesn't work with our use cases

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transfering of student data from school districts. We needed a secure and fast way to have managed SFTP from a trusted resource. From a technological perspective, it meets those goals.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Caleb - Thanks for taking the time to review your experience using Files.com. It's always great to hear the Files.com platform is helping to make the transfer of files from one place to another easier.

Regarding your feedback around the API and contract: I am sorry for the bad experience that you have had. I would like to try and square things up - I have forwarded the information along to both our product team and our leadership team for review. They are currently looking into the API issues you outlined above to see how we can do better in the future and to mitigate any technology issues.

We have also recently brought on a formal billing team for Files.com. Those team members are working through billing discrepancies, such as the one you outlined above, and making it a priority to ensure that what you are being billed for is what you expect to be paying.

If you are open to it, I would love to setup a time for our team to connect with you and work through how we can make things right for you and your team. You can reach out to our team via our support portal (linked below) at anytime as well.

 ### 10. Easy to use, strong feature set, responsive support.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derick T. | Head of Technical Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The platform functions both as a programmatic solution and has an easy-to-navigate web UI for more casual management, which is extremely useful in bringing on new internal users and managing small one-off tasks.

You can create a public share, set file expiration (per folder) easily, and setup encryption all at the press of a button. I've only had to go to their support team on a small handful of occassions and always received a same-day response.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I have seen many VPNs often block the solution without specific whitelisting, which is not typical for many sites. Not clear what triggers this but it has come up more often than I would prefer.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

When setting up file expiration, create folder structures and naming conventions that will not leave empty artifacts in your account. You want to do this because file expiration will not automatically delete empty folders even when all of their contents are removed without specific configuration, leading to a messy server.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilize Files.com both for internal file management and B2B sharing. The solution has proven versatile no matter the connection type. be it through their REST API programmatically, their Web UI, or other points of access. The entire experience feels modern. While the concept might seem archaic, many in-house MFT or FTP solutions have issues with bandwidth and latency and Files.com shines regardless of the number of files or their size. While many companies often have their own solution, it's always nice to have the option to offer an endpoint that we control and manage access, encryption, security, and file expiration policy.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Derick - Thanks for taking the time to review Files.com. It's always encouraging to hear that our platform is helping to make file transfers easy and your outlined examples are no exception.

I am going to get your feedback regarding troubles with VPS + whitelisting over to our team to see if there's a way we can help get the issue sorted out permanently. In the mean time, you can submit a ticket request via our support portal to get the support request submitted (link below)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert G. | Information Technology Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

We use Files.com as an FTP host and the setup, sharing, and use has been very intuitive for all.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

For our very basic needs, I've nothing negative to say about Files.com; it's solid and simple.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, the need to rapidly provide FTP sites for short projects with multiple stakeholders.

 ### 12. Files.com is getting us through the pandemic!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting large high resolution files to clients. Not shipping hard drives. Moving files not just across the states, but internationally as well.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Shane - Thanks for taking the time to review Files.com. Glad to hear we helped you trim out physical media and make the delivery of media files across the globe a bit easier!

Regarding your feedback on corrupted large zip file: I will get a note to our product team to take a look into the issue. If you have not done so already, I would recommend submitting a support ticket (link below) to get things officially documented and so our team can get as many details about the process leading up to the issue as we can.

 ### 13. Easy way to link up a FTP Site and control who can seen what .

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony M. | Mechanical Design Engineer/ IT manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

can be accessed from either the web or an ftp client .

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

nothing really. It does what I need it for.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to have a direct connection to our customers without adding a FTP server, it manages itself and
can be controlled easily through a browser interface.

 ### 14. I'm very happy with files.com

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Ability to disable users automatically if they haven't logged in in X number of days.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

When auto deleting files after they are X number of days old it leaves the empty folders

Sharing files with our customers. It benefits me because I don't have to manage my own FTP server.

 ### 15. Super fast and easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto O. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

It's a super-advanced file-sharing system that allows you to upload and share files easily. it's also very secure and it has advanced features. I used it to share very large video files and I was able to do so without any issues.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

The only thing that I didn't care for as much, was that they're not very upfront with their pricing, you start off with a 7-day free trial but in order to find out how much it costs, you have to reach out to them and then you'll need to deal with a sales-person.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the need of hosting very large, high-definition raw video data at a high speed, highly secure platform that allows me to share files instantly without hassles

 ### 16. Great product for sharing business files

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

You can get very granular with the security and who has access to what.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Speeds are a little slow at times but that might be on our side of the network.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't want to set up our own FTP site and worry about vulnerabilities.

 ### 17. Works for our unique business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

We had AWS in the past for FTP transfer. Files.com works better and is more reliable for our daily usage

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

No complaints! Everything has worked for us, and the tech support team set us up for success at the start

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

The doubling of our monthly price to force a yearly contract I thought was a little shady.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We perform data collection for all the wireless cellular carriers. We perform thousands of upload and download tests daily to test their network speeds and present their stats

 ### 18. Files.com has a friendly UI for sftp services along with all the security features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak P. | Azure Solution Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Ease of navigation
Nice UI
Ease of Managibility

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Integration with Azure AD only comes when you purchase higher tier, it should default even if you have less users

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com gives a secure public access for sftp with all the security protocols with less custom build

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Hi Deepak! I am happy to hear you are making use of our integrations with Azure AD. You are correct that our lowest pricing tier does not include Single Sign On (SSO) integrations. I appreciate you sharing your feedback on that.

 ### 19. Incredible Experience in Every Way - Turnkey FTP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morgan D. | Chief Information Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

World-class customer support with a real human that picks up the phone within seconds of initiating a call. Their UI is rock solid and I don't think we've ever had an outage in 4 years of use. We needed an FTP server that could integrate with other services, and this solution was turnkey. Despite FTP being an older technology, Files.com provides modern functionality and features. The thought of even attempting a homegrown production FTP environment at the level we're using it seems like an absolute nightmare-- we love how easy Files.com makes it.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Their pricing has gone up quite a bit since we first started, but this is to be expected. Even so, it still feels like a great deal.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business requires constant data feeds from clients, many of whom use antiquated systems with no API functionality. FTP is literally the only means by which their systems can transfer data to us, and Files.com makes that data incredibly easy to manipulate. For example, a client sends us a CSV file via FTP, and we instantly move that file into a parsing service (via Zapier). The data is then processed and submitted to our backend system via API, and to our clients, the whole transaction appears real-time. What's more, the user interface is simple enough that I can train an employee to do it in 10 minutes. It's a truly elegant solution to a massively important process.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Morgan - We're so happy to hear that Files.com has been hitting the mark for your team! If there's anything we can do for you and your team, just let us know!

 ### 20. Great Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lance P. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The files.com interface is easy and straightforward to understand, use and navigate through. I was able to set up all our users, set up inboxes where our customers can send us files (and we can send them internally to our other locations) and everything just works! Email notifications are also a big thing for us as we need to know when we have a new file sent to us, and those just work as well!

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

So far, the only downside I've found is that on our first bill we had a charge for extra users that I wasn't aware of from the get-go. In files.com's defense, I didn't ask either. We've since cut redundant users and they are working just fine.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a new way for customers to send files to us for print production. We also needed a way for customers to send files specifically to a location instead of just a general mass inbox that someone has to manage. Files.com has taken care of that for us and we're able to process customer files more efficiently than before.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Lance - Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with Files.com... we're glad to hear that features like email notifications and self-service file transfer for your end-users are making your life easy!

it should be more efficient and clear accessing

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 22. Easy setup and provided exactly what was needed

Transferral of files from producer to consumer in the cloud

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Thanks for this review. Market positioning is a complicated dance, and "a tad on the pricey side but you certainly get what you pay for" is a pretty accurate description of our strategy in that regard. Happy to hear that you see us executing it well.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The UI is super easy to use, so my staff can get in and manage as we grow our lab integrations.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Some of the reports could use some UI/UX magic, to make more user friendly. Also the failure reports by email are hard to trace down to root causes.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

The cost to own and SFTP Server on Amazon EC2 with the HIPAA and SOC2 requirements can no be ignored.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do not want to be in the SFTP Server business.

 ### 25. Responsive and Attentive Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William W. | Chief Executive Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

We had searched multiple companies for hosting our information. What persuaded us to files.com honestly was their customer service. They were incredibly helpful, walked us through the setup process. Every time we have had an issue they have been very accomodating. We've been with this company for about five plus years and don't see us changing. We've been approached by other competitors, and knowing how they service our account, we wouldn't venture elsewhere.

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Implementation convenience, "set-it-and-forget-it"

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Customer for almost 2 years. Files.com doubled the price of the monthly plan, in a bid to force customers onto annual plans. No thanks. The price increase hastened our efforts to remove Files.com from our infrastructure.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

Look elsewhere if you're looking for a stable partner and predictable pricing

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No-hassle SFTP server

I do agree that stability of pricing is important, and we are happy to offer locked-in price commitments for up to 3 years at a time. All we ask is that the commitment is mutual.

We understand that this model doesn't work for everyone, and we're sorry to see you go!

 ### 32. Files.com is easy to setup and use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego A. | Tech writer., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I liked the integration with AWS. I had an AWS S3 storage that wanted to integrate with Files.com as an SFTP server. Mounting the AWS storage over Files.com was easy and using it, was easier.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I used the service for its SFTP capabilities. It does not offer an SFTP server... so you have to deploy one or bring one. In addition, it would be helpful is if Files.com provided more knowledge or documentation on how to set up these kinds of services.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

The cloud-based file-sharing service is fantastic, especially how easily it integrates with other cloud-based services such as Azure or AWS.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love it that is easy to use. I just log into the SFTP client or browser, and also I am able to create a download link to send to anyone. My business performance has improved because it saves time. No need to send IPs, credentials, and so on...

 ### 33. Very Full Featured, could use a few UI and Licensing Improvements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Files.com has become mission critical for many of our production applications, and we have been using it successfully for years. Its very easy to use but, as they enhance the product, some useful and familiar features get obscured. Fore example, it is easy to set up a user account and grant them full access to a folder. If you want, however, to give them the rights to create and generate a sharing key, that is a separate step.
That being said, I appreciate and use the inbox features, upload notifications, sharing key expirations and other items heavily. We have software developers that have successfully integrated files.com folders into . Net applications and it just works, without issue, every time.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I think there could be improvements made in the administrator features, especially doing things in bulk.
The documentation is also a little skimpy but customer support is first-rate.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

Very robust and dependable. Take care in controlling your costs when setting up accounts and folders.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use files.com as an alternative to Teams and OneDrive sharing. It eliminates the need to put a lot of 3rd party domain permissions into O365.

 ### 34. All the features I needed

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Files.com has all the features I needed now and the ones I know I'll need later, integration was a breeze with my platform.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Would like to see the price come down but it was it competitive in the industry.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Industry accepted secure file transfer with encryption and the benefit of my own branding.

 ### 35. I like most of it's kety features, however, I think there room to add more secure features

The ability of my team to control how external users have access to our data

 ### 36. Files.com Works for us

The element of my work with files.com that I liked the least was understanding the pricing structure. Also seems expensive for our use case

We needed an SFTP server

 ### 37. Files.com was easy to set up and use!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy B. | Business Coach and Head Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

It was easy to set up and connect what I needed to test. I got it working quickly, and the team was in touch to support me if I had any issues or challenges I couldn't solve. I didn't hit any roadblocks, but they did help me with additional ideas of what else I could set up.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Some things that I thought would be a single action required me to do multiple steps, but I'm not sure if that was related to Files.com or the software I was integrating it to.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had to send a file from Zapier to a server; I used Files.com to create the file and then FTP it to a server to confirm that this was possible. It allowed me to transfer the file and ensure that it was in the correct format.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Hey Andrew - thanks so much for taking the time to review Files.com!

I don't have to use GoDaddy FTP anymore which was a nightmare.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

 ### 46. Great solution for handling file transfers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I was looking for a solution that could do SFTP but provide an easy way to handle authentication and archiving to S3 while being priced competitively. We are a data analytics company, and we wanted non-technical users to manage access via a UI. Single Sign-On integration is supported, and lots of cloud integrations are available.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

One minor issue is with our Active Directory integration - if the user's password is within an expiration window, users can't log in to Files.com. We have to let our users know to make sure their password is updated and wait 15 minutes for the password to propagate in our Active Directory environment.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do not have to host our own SFTP server and then configure jobs to transfer the data or back it up. AWS-managed SFTP still lacks a lot of features.

**Official Response from Adam OBrien:**

> Thanks for taking the time to review Files.com - Really happy to hear the self-service functions of Files.com is working so well for your end users!

I will make sure to pass along a note to our product team about the AD integration feedback you have listed above.
