It worked well as I recall, an improvement over BobCadCam which I used for ten+ years. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** My 2010 version will not install into Windows 10 Home edition operating system. Any solution? **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** At age 71, need to have a healthy non-physical pursuit, an intellectual pursuit. You have so many different choice for bench. Which is awesome. Program is running fast and solid. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** Animations could be a little bit more smoother that's all. **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** Don't hesitate to use it. It works fast and sharp. It's user friendly I liked it the most because when you try to learn a program it's one of the important thing. One of the best for CNC Programming. Program created for new users we can say. If you're familiar with these programs. You can dance better. New users surely find many tutorials online. Program also uses very low % of CPU. That means your fan won't run like crazy. Also they has a dark theme option which is great for who has eye problems like me. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** If you don't have a high-quality computer, animation won't be so fluent and smooth but don't worry even if you have, the difference is not so much. **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** You can't buy quality with less. So prepare to pay a little bit more than other programs. You will find everything in this program. Usual AutoDesk quality. **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** We learned SolidCAM at university and I just try to use FeatureCAM. In technical drawing lessons our teacher compares AutoCAD and SolidWorks always. So we decided to try this side of CAM program this time :) Only few projects. ### 5. The software is also fast provided the user has experience using it . Overall , If you're doing the same type of parts over and over again I would say FeatureCAM is very good . The fact that it supports 5 axis simulation and multi turret operations is a definite plus . The software is pretty fast and even if it takes some time to get used to , the end result is worth it. A very user friendly software . **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** There are some softwares out there that can take complicated parts with multiple operations better than FeatureCAM . The integration of Solidworks with FeatureCAM isn't really that great as I dealt with problems with auto feature recognition . The simulation feature is also not upto the mark . **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** FeatureCAM is definitely a good software when it comes to ease of use, and please do explore the different features it provides the user with. The features like 5 axis simulations and multi turret operations is a plus point for this software, so please use that. Overall it's worth it looking at it from a business standpoint also from the usability point of view. **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** I haven't used this software for business problems yet, but this software has very good capabilities and using this for such purposes can save up on time. ### 6. Interface is simple, user friendly. Probably other programs can't reach this quality in next 10 years. Autodesk knows what user needs. You will put the part and use " Turn Properties ". You'll see your options so simply in opened window. I loved it. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** Autodesk wants more again. You may need to upgrade your computer in next versions. ( You can't have the high quality cheap. ) **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** If you're new, Autodesk will always help you. There are so many tutorials online. You will quick easily. Don't worry this product is very user friendly. **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** While viewing Autodesk products I would like to try it. I just simulated in my home but I saw how it works in a company near my house. But I didn't have a machine part from it. ### 7. This way you can eliminate bottlenecks **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** You can’t import solidworks drawing to featurecam. I mean can’t import the design but you can mort the model. **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Design and modeling fixtures and tools. So much easy to use. Also converts Models to G codes. Fantastic!! My company makes a lot of tool fabrication. I’m in manufacturing. ### 8. Codes are so sensitive. Using it is so easy. I wasn't even meet with any CAM programs before FeatureCAM and I learned so quickly. Interface is simple and brilliant. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** Animations could be more softer. Nothing else. **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** I was very delightful when I used it. It's easy to learn and use. Don't hesitate to buy it. You can make sure that your machine's performance will improve after using this program. **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Worked on very small pieces at university's labs. ### 9. I like the platform; I can appreciate the ease of use and user friendly imaging that many of the younger guys found simpler and easier. However, the veterans, although they like it found compatibility issues that they couldn’t overcome or work with negating the usefulness vs cost factor. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** Program does not allow for C Axis Support; and the cost is considerably more than EZ cam; for this reason; for us it is not cost effective at this time. If C Axis support is integrated I may give it another go in the future. **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** Too pricy! **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have since discontinued use; so no benefits realized at this time. ### 10. The five axis simulation provided by this software is a major plus. Everything seems pretty good **What problems is FeatureCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Used it in the automatic irrigation project to simulate various measurements. ### 11. Its trocoidal milling feature with chip thinning feed optimizer saves you a ton of time. Demo is very informative. **What do you dislike about FeatureCAM?** I dislike that you cannot have one person programming and another designing at the same time, you must do it separately. Was used to solid works which has this feature. **Recommendations to others considering FeatureCAM:** Watch the demo, trial and error help as well.
