As it can operate on windows,IOS and Linux as a recent version is already being launched for Linux. **What do you dislike about FalconView?** Primarily for combat missions and limited mapping is there **What problems is FalconView solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is kind of a simulator for flights. Can help in creating nutical charts and aviation ### 2. I really like to use thr GIS and layering features. ### 3. A Brief Look at FalconView, from an Analyst Perspective **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Steven J. | Embedded Mentor, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2015 **What do you like best about FalconView?** FalconView is reliable and easy to learn. It appears to have been designed for use by analysts, and performs functions that either have not been reproduced in its competitors; or require significantly more work to accomplish similar tasks. For example, converting coordinate systems in Google Earth (e.g. MGRS to GeoCoords) requires menu navigation and several clicks. By contrast, converting coordinate systems in FalconView can be accomplished by pressing "Ctrl + G" on the keyboard and typing. **What do you dislike about FalconView?** The interface is getting dated, and some features available in other software is not yet available in FalconView. For example, the integration of digital terrain elevation data (DTED) as a 3D view; or the ability to arbitrarily rotate the map, which is almost universally available by click-dragging with the mouse in other software. One major pitfall is that, in the versions of FalconView I used, it was not easy to move information between FalconView and other industry standard products. Integrating KML support into FalconView would go a long way to modernizing the user experience. **Recommendations to others considering FalconView:** Currently, a lot of FalconView's shortcomings can be overcome by using it alongside other software. For example, one common approach is to use FalconView alongside Google Earth to take advantage of its 3D modeling and KML ingestion. However, without third party tools to convert FalconView files to KML files, migrating data between the two systems is a very labor intensive process. **What problems is FalconView solving and how is that benefiting you?** I last used this product as a Full Motion Video analyst; and before that, as an Intelligence Analyst in the US Air Force.
