The platform was designed specifically for companies that are starting to face ESG data requests — from banks, investors, or larger customers bound by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) — but do not have the internal resources to build a full sustainability reporting function from scratch. Many growing companies begin their ESG tracking in spreadsheets. As the number of locations, data sources, and reporting requests increases, this approach becomes difficult to maintain and hard to defend during an audit. ESGdesk replaces fragmented spreadsheet tracking with a single, structured system for ESG data collection, calculation, and reporting. The platform covers environmental, social, and governance data across multiple company locations, including energy consumption, water usage, waste management, health and safety incidents, employment demographics, and financial indicators. Data can be entered manually through guided forms or extracted automatically from utility bills and invoices using AI-assisted document scanning. Carbon footprint calculations cover Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (purchased energy emissions), using country-specific emission factors and a version-controlled methodology dataset that is reviewed and updated annually. ESGdesk also tracks renewable energy production and share, covering solar, wind, and other sources, using European climate data. Reports generated by ESGdesk are aligned with the VSME Basic Standard published by EFRAG, the voluntary reporting framework designed for European SMEs, and are mapped to the disclosure requirements of the CSRD and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). We can easily distribute tasks across the team, which makes data collection a breeze. All calculations are done quickly and transparently. The AI data extraction speeds up data input significantly, and whenever I need help, the support team responds fast and with precise answers. Most importantly, all of this comes at a very affordable price. **What do you dislike about ESGdesk?** So far, I haven't found any downsides. Everything works as expected, and whenever we have a question, the team is very quick to help. **What problems is ESGdesk solving and how is that benefiting you?** It eliminates manual data entry and the headache of complex ESG frameworks. By using AI to pull data from invoices automatically and allowing team members to collaborate in one central place, it turns a months-long process into a fast, smooth workflow. Additionally, the structured data input guides us step-by-step, so I never have to worry about missing key information. In the end, I know we get a report that is fully compliant with the VSME standard.
