## About Hercule
Hercule is an on-premise biomanufacturing data platform for biotech and CDMOs. Electronic batch records, CPV automation, DoE, and ML modelling in one GMP-validated system — deployable in weeks, on your own server. In more details : Hercule is a biomanufacturing data management and analytics platform built for biotechs (from development- to commercial-stage) and CDMOs. It runs on-premise on your own Linux server (Docker), keeping your process data inside your perimeter — no cloud dependency, no data sovereignty compromise. Electronic batch records (eBR): Hercule's form editor lets you build ISA S88-structured batch records with embedded operator instructions, mandatory sign-off, and a dedicated validator role. Every parameter captured is semantically typed against the process hierarchy from the moment of entry — not mapped after the fact. A custom batch release report with sign-off panel is generated per batch from the CPV module. Continued Process Verification (CPV): Automated CPV against limits of specification, trends, and golden batch benchmarks. Critically, an out-of-spec value confirmed during a running batch triggers a CPV alarm in real time — before the batch is complete. This is possible because the batch record and the analytics engine are one system, not two integrated modules. Process analytics and ML: DoE (Design of Experiments), multivariate modelling, process optimisation, and federated learning across sites via vantage6 — all working on the same ISA S88-structured dataset. Compliance: GAMP5 V2, 21 CFR Part 11, Keycloak authentication, full audit trail, Trivy-scanned Docker images. Data model: Hercule-CDM — 200+ biomanufacturing concepts structured to ISA S88, covering the full process lifecycle. CPP, CQA, and actionable metadata are baked in at capture, making every dataset immediately ML-ready without a data engineering project. Every batch you run without structured data capture is knowledge you will never recover. Hercule gives you the data infrastructure that turns your manufacturing history into a competitive asset — starting in weeks, not years.

## Hercule Reviews
 ### 1. Hercule: a tool of choice for accelerating process development with the Ambr250

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Hercule?**

In process development, the bottleneck is rarely ideas — it is the number of bioreactor runs you can afford, and how quickly you can learn from each one. Every campaign costs time and money, and without a structured way to learn across experiments, you end up repeating work or missing parameter interactions that only become visible when the data is properly organised.

What Hercule brought us is a methodology as much as a platform. Our development work runs on an Ambr250 — up to 24 parallel bioreactor conditions per campaign. Without a common data model, the output of an Ambr250 campaign is a large, unwieldy timeseries dump across 24 reactors. With Hercule, every condition is mapped to the same ISA S88 process hierarchy from the start: same parameter names, same phase structure, directly comparable across all conditions from the moment data is captured. Each campaign produces a dataset that is immediately analysis-ready — no harmonisation step before you can ask a question.

That structured foundation is what allows you to identify parameter interactions and operating ranges faster, carry knowledge forward from one campaign to the next, and move into CPV without re-mapping when the process reaches the clinic or manufacturing.

On our first project using the Hercule methodology, we went from 45 weeks of development to 28 weeks — a 17-week reduction. For client programmes where timelines are contractual and Ambr250 campaigns are expensive to repeat, that difference is substantial.

**What do you dislike about Hercule?**

The methodology requires investment upfront: structuring the process in ISA S88 before the first run, defining which parameters will be captured and how. That discipline is what makes everything downstream work, but it requires the development team to think carefully before running experiments rather than capturing data opportunistically. If your team is accustomed to flexible, ad hoc data collection, the initial adjustment takes some time.

**What problems is Hercule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run process development for pharma clients under time and budget pressure. Before Hercule, development data was scattered across LIMS exports, lab notebooks, and analyst-created spreadsheets. Each project essentially started from scratch because there was no common structure to make data from one project usable in the next. Now, development data is structured, searchable, and comparable from the first experiment. Since the data model is the same one used in CPV and manufacturing analytics, the knowledge built during development is not lost at tech transfer — it is already in the platform, ready for the next stage.

An unexpected benefit: working on the same platform and methodology as the DNAlytics team has created a natural basis for joint process development engagements. When both parties speak the same data language, collaboration on client projects becomes straightforward in a way it would not be if each side had their own tools and data formats.
