Table boxes can be tough to resize, and other moving them around sometimes appears to break the joins (but it doesn't). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?

Was looking for a replacement for the SSMS interface query builder, and wanted one that was intuitive and full featured. This fit the bill immediately, and was very easy to get installed and running. I like the join feature, very simple to change Join types. I also like the tabs at the bottom that provide all necessary features like Group By and Having. Other interfaces almost hide those, resulting in extra time spent learning the interface. dbForge Query Builder makes it easy to do your job, and that's all you can ask of a tool! I think this tool has potential as a learning tool or an aid for those who aren't familiar with scripting or building database queries Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server?

It took a LONG time to use. Maybe it was just my computer, but the program seemed to lag. It wasn't intuitive. As someone who's written queries and views before, it would've taken me more time to learn how to use the tool as opposed to just writing the query myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've been using dbForge Enterprise to build a Data Warehouse/ETL project. Query Builder was included in that bundle, and I decided to give it a shot. I can see it providing benefit to SQL learners who don't have a software background, as the visual aspects of the tool may help them learn how databases are built and utilized. I like writing my query like text as usual, but the ability to switch to an automatically made visual mapping really helps me soak in the abstract process at hand. And it comes with a 30-day trial so you can really test the full range of it's benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Although it really portrays subqueries in useful manner, it is difficult to fully distinguish the exact process of joins through its visualization Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mostly I use the query builder to visualize sql operations for non-sql developers and those unfamiliar with relational design theory. I can design an abstract for a schema and actually display it's use through writing complex queries and walking everyone through the relational design with the aid of the visual mapping.
