It is easy to calculate in the program. The report is clean and clear, visually appealing for client presentations. Another thing that I really like/appreciate is the customer service is outstanding. Early on I had a few challenges with the program, called in and the helpful service was fantastic! **What do you dislike about SmartRisk?** I would like some way to upload a portfolio from a custodian, that would be a big timesaver (maybe a csv file? I know mapping can be a challenge, but perhaps that could be worked out? Also designing a portfolio can be challenging as often what seems to be a simple portfolio, low risk or whatever, often it does not qualify within the risk profile parameters. This may require several changes to get a portfolio that works within the clients risk profile. Sometimes I have difficulty switching from Tax Clarity to SmartRisk and the switch is not always smooth! I would be nice to have some better training on this one, as I hate calling in and bugging the support staff for simple questions. **Recommendations to others considering SmartRisk:** Try it out and see if it works for you. It's core concept is very good and well thought out. **What problems is SmartRisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used it to demonstrate to clients how their risk profile looks compared to what they are invested in currently. To be able to show them the actual investments that they are currently in with the amount of Risk associated with their specific portfolio is a great tool. **What do you dislike about SmartRisk?** Sometimes when comparing 401k plans can't find the investments, making it difficult to make a proper comparison and have the client understand the amount of Risk they may potentially have if they stay with a 401k plan vs moving it to a managed account. Sometimes the proprietary funds that are offered at some investment firms are a little hard to find. I have utilized google to help me search for different ticker symbols since they are not always listed on the statements that are provided by my clients. **Recommendations to others considering SmartRisk:** Some recommendations that I would make is to make sure that you customize the portfolios to you individual clients. Get familiar with searching for different equities and bonds as sometimes they can be a little difficult to find. Utilize Google or Yahoo search to help find a particular ticker symbol that you may be looking for as well. **What problems is SmartRisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving the risk exposure and showing clients the dollar amount if the markets move on client account vs the percentages. It really helps clients understand how much they could be potentially make or lose based on moves in the market. The charts are easy to use and understandable. This is a great way to illustrate risk to a client with a comparison of another portfolio you are recommending to the client. **What do you dislike about SmartRisk?** I am quite happy. There is not a lot that I would want changed. Having the ability to use UIT's maybe, but that is not necessary. **Recommendations to others considering SmartRisk:** Rather than just giving a risk score this allows a true percentage of risk and dollar amount relative to that risk. **What problems is SmartRisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** UIT's not being recognized is the major one.
