# Which survey platforms are good for tracking NPS trends over time and flagging detractors so you can follow up with them?

The basic NPS score is easy to get from almost any survey tool. Trend tracking and automated detractor follow-up is where the shortlist gets much shorter.

Based on G2 reviews specifically around NPS and CX workflows:

QuestionPro's scheduled sends paired with automated detractor workflows is the combination that actually closes the loop, versus tools that flag a detractor and stop there. The follow-up automation is the unglamorous part that makes an NPS program actually useful.

Delighted is built specifically for this, tracking NPS over time and flagging detractors so you can follow up quickly rather than after a delayed reporting cycle.

Extending that a little, there's a second thing that moves the line: your own follow-up. If detractor outreach works, some of those people re-score higher next cycle, so an improving trend is partly measuring the closed-loop program rather than the product. Good problem to have, bad number to report without saying so. The version I'd trust is a cohort read, meaning score movement among people who answered in both periods, held next to the aggregate. When the two diverge you learn something real: aggregate up with cohort flat means the mix changed, both up means sentiment genuinely moved. Worth checking whether a platform can even produce that repeat-respondent cut, because it's a different query from segment filtering and not every NPS dashboard exposes it.

### Comment 4

One thing that muddies every NPS trend line: sample composition. A five-point swing month over month can mean sentiment moved, or just that this month's respondents skewed toward a different segment or channel with sentiment unchanged. So before comparing trend dashboards, the question worth asking is whether the platform lets you hold the segment mix constant when reading the trend, because a raw aggregate line can move for reasons that have nothing to do with customers changing their minds.
