**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

Compulink Advantage helps our Optometry practice with charting, ordering glasses, Electronic billings, and scheduling. It has a few helpful features that I use everyday but my favorite is being able to right click to save things.  This tool is unbelievable helpful and time saving! Their support staff is stellar.  They go above and beyond to help our practice tweak Compulink Advantage to better serve our office.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

The occasional issues arise with Compulink Advantage.  I have discovered that any issues our practice has had are quickly resolved by their support staff.

**What problems is Compulink Advantage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our practice uses Compulink Advantage to maintain our electronic medical records.  This is a huge space saver for a small practice.  We used to have gigantic filing cabinets all over the office.  With Compulink Advantage we have been able to add decorative pieces to the office instead of more filing cabinets.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

I appreciate that it encompasses all of the dynamics of our practice, in that it is an amazing EHR for our providers, it communicates with other providers and patients through PW without creating more work for my staff or providers, it links into the billing portion and allows us to be in charge of our EHR and billing and keeps us in compliance with government requirements and regulations.  We use Compulink basically 24/7 and appreciate the customer service they provide.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

The one thing we'd change/update would be the medications component.  SureScripts seems to be antiquated, cumbersome and time consuming, whereas other programs and apps are much more user friendly, communicate better with pharmacies and patients.  The communications process between our EHR and refill requests from pharmacies are not always as timely and accurate as we'd prefer or as intuitive as some of the other products our providers use at other facilities.  We are hoping that the anticipated changes will allow us to choose which e-script app we prefer and integrate it into Compulink so that the medication reconciliation and controlled substance e-script will be faster and more effective than the current system.

Compulink seems to solve new problems on a daily basis.  Most requests are fulfilled within a week of the request.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

I appreciate how Compulink Advantage provides easy access to past records and good record keeping. The system is user-friendly and operates smoothly. I like that the app is usually up to date. It's really helpful that I can easily monitor patients using exam records, and I can visually demonstrate trends to patients regarding their prescriptions and eye health. Transitioning from manual records to Compulink was seamless for me, and I've had no problems training new staff on how to use it.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

Scanning documents are not always visible, especially those scanned 5+ years ago. It would be better if scans were easily accessible.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

Compulink Advantage has great reports available for financials and inventory, which I find very useful. I really like the Action Items and all of the spaces for notes and comments. It makes it easy for employees to follow up and know exactly what's going on with a patient. I use Action Items to make notes to myself regarding a patient's payments for glasses or contacts, or to track insurance payments. I love that I can make comments in the patient's account, so if the patient calls back or if someone else helps them, they can refer to my notes. The initial setup was very easy, and the training was great.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

We have 3 different locations so it would be nice to be able to switch between the 3 without having to log completely out.

**What problems is Compulink Advantage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compulink Advantage offers great financial and inventory reports. I love Action Items and notes for easy follow-ups and clear patient communication. I can track payments and insurance calls easily, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

The RCM dept is VERY helpful! They help me with claims filing problems and issues with the clearinghouse, appeals, etc.  That takes a lot off my plate. This is the one thing I LOVE!  I do like some of the Worklists.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

The reports are not always user friendly or do not give enough information.

There are always glitches that just never get fixed. Example, our Instant Messaging system kicks us out EVERY day! It may be different users on different days, but it happens to our entire clinic and it wastes time.

Payor Notes....previously were set up where I could make a note on the claim even if there was no insurance, NOW it will NOT let me make those notes on self pay pt's and yet the payor note is the best place to make notes so that it does not get deleted.

The Tables.... I HATE that they changed the way the tables always go to the bottom when you look for a code! If I try to find a code it goes to the bottom of the screen, and if I am trying to enter information in sequence, instead of staying in one place so I can just keep going down the list, it goes to the bottom of the screen every time and I have to scroll to find the next code again.

I have a problem with it now cutting off the customer acct# in demographics. We can never fully see the last digit.

Usually when I send a request through the Compulink portal, I do get a fairly quick response. I do like that. But the times I need immediate assistance, the phone hold times are too long.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

As an orthopedic practice, Compulink has served us well over the years and has provided a solid foundation for our daily clinical and administrative operations. The orthopedic-specific templates and workflows align with how we document and treat patients, and the reporting tools have offered meaningful insight into our performance without the need for additional platforms.

However, as our practice has grown in volume, complexity, and staffing, we are beginning to feel that we have outgrown the system. Many of our processes still require significant manual data entry, duplicate documentation, and workarounds that add time and increase the risk of error. While the software remains reliable, it no longer fully supports the level of efficiency, automation, and scalability we need moving forward.

At this stage, we are looking for a solution that reduces manual input, streamlines workflows across departments, and better supports the operational demands of a growing orthopedic practice.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

As our practice has continued to grow, we would greatly benefit from the addition of a true work queue feature to better support in-house revenue cycle management and tracking. Currently, many billing follow-ups, claim statuses, and account workflows require manual tracking methods, which creates inefficiencies and increases the potential for missed steps. A structured, automated work queue would help streamline accountability, improve visibility across the billing team, and reduce reliance on spreadsheets or manual task management.

Additionally, we would welcome more fully integrated services within the platform itself. Relying on third-party systems such as Doctible or Weave for communication and engagement adds layers of complexity, duplicate data entry, and additional costs. As we’ve grown, the need for a more unified, all-in-one system has become increasingly clear, we need to minimizes manual processes, reduces fragmentation, and supports a scalable, streamlined workflow across the entire organization.

**What problems is Compulink Advantage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Despite these limitations, Compulink Advantage initially played important role in improving efficiency and standardizing workflows at Lubbock Sports Medicine. It has provided a framework that has supported our clinical documentation and daily operations as we’ve grown into a high-volume orthopedic practice.

That said, our continued growth has highlighted areas where the system requires more manual oversight than is ideal, particularly in revenue cycle management task tracking and in-house communication tools. While we would welcome enhancements that reduce manual data entry, automate task management, and better integrate internal communication, the core platform continues to deliver specialty-focused functionality that aligns with the foundation of our current operations.

I like that we can task staff for certain patients instead of using sticky notes, which is really helpful. It also works great having a schedule designated just for the optical department. This setup helps us provide better service for our patients and improves the flow of our office. Plus, it was easy to set up.

I think what could help better is ledger for receipts for patients. It has to have a little more detailed on the discount part and how much Insurance is paying.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

We’ve been using Compulink for decades, and it continues to be a dependable EHR solution for our practice. Like any system, there have been occasional bumps along the way, but since switching to the cloud, the experience has been smoother than ever. Updates are seamless, and it’s been so stable that we honestly can’t remember the last time we had to call support.

One standout feature has been the integration with Aloha for digital forms, appointment reminders, and patient communication. The integration has been phenomenal. Everything works together effortlessly and has made a noticeable difference in our workflow. Compulink has continued to grow with us and meet the needs of a busy modern practice.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

You can’t schedule when updates happen, so if you're working late, there’s a brief window where you’re forced to log out while the system updates. It’s not a huge issue, but it can be inconvenient when you're in the middle of something.

**What problems is Compulink Advantage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compulink helps us manage patient records, scheduling, billing, and communication all in one place. It’s reduced the need for multiple systems and made our workflow more efficient. Since moving to the cloud, we’ve also had fewer disruptions and easier access from anywhere, which has been a huge benefit for both staff and providers.

**What do you like best about Compulink Advantage?**

We have been working with Compulink in our practice for over 25 years.  Compulink has supported our practice through the challenges, growth and healthcare changes over the years.  From day one, they’ve demonstrated technical knowledge, quick response times, and genuine dedication to solving issues effectively.  Compulink’s support staff truly cares about us as a client.  We value the ongoing relationships we have built with their longstanding and dedicated team of professionals.  
Whether it's network glitches or software hiccups, their team consistently jumps on our support tickets to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.  
When we transitioned to the cloud, they didn't just fix problems—they regularly performed system updates, audits and backups.  The expense and problems of maintaining a server based program we gone and we can feel that our data is safe and available in the event of a disaster (like a hurricane, as our office is in Florida).
They' respond to our needs and are respectful of my time, my staff’s time and genuinely care about keeping my systems running smoothly.

Compulink Advantage is powerful and highly customizable, but users should be prepared for:

Compulink promotes efficiency and streamlines routine staff and provider tasks which saves time, improves payroll and allows for better care delivery.  The Smart workflows, Order sets and Encounter favorites in the EHR improve exam documentation, workflows and accuracy.  The integrated exam coding logic supports CPT coding and suggests documentation improvements for improved billing capture. The Data query feature allows for collecting information for the clinical studies and marketing.   Customization options provide flexibility in utilizing the system and capturing data at the point of care.

I have been using Compulink for 5 years. The customer support is prompt and very helpful. The implementation team was excellent when we installed Compulink 5 years ago. Compulink's no no-frill approach gets documentation done and encounter billed. Not to mention that I totally enjoy the remote access from my iPad, anywhere and anytime. eRx is easily to use. Documentation at your own speed with dictation, pull-down menus, or click buttons, your choice. Value for money = 10/10. Highly recommended.

Compulink Advantage incorporated anatomic GUI which unfortunately caused a major slow-down of the system.

As the scheduler, I like the options that are given to see the whole schedule for the office at once - "office at a glance" or only one provider.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

It takes too long for known "bugs" to get fixed.  When updating the patient's address in patient information it should also update in the insurance as well, however, it doesn't.

From working on paper files, it was nice to transition to an EMR but nothing in particular stands out that was remarkable.

Trying to input data was very slow. For example medications, just trying to input a medication there were at least 3 extra clicks before it saved to make sure it was "active" or "inactive."

**Recommendations to others considering Compulink Advantage:**

Patience. It took about a year to fully comprehend and use the software but was very aggravating in all the extra steps we had to take to perform data entry.

**What problems is Compulink Advantage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had to call for several reasons and asking for them to fix the format and why the tabs would mirror another instead of what it was intended for. We cancelled the service.

Compulink is very user friendly, it is easy to learn. Just by watching the training videos its easy to understand how to use it. I also like that is is cloud based. compulink is also more helpful then most that i have used because it links up with insurances, so some insurances you don't have to look up the patient benefits because it's linked with the system. The other nice part about it is insurance claims are done directly through the system. 

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

Something i dislike about compulink that is different from other systems Ive used is the ledger, I don't like how all the charges are together no matter the date of service. Its gets confusing if you don't pay attention, i think it should be separated by date.

We use compulink for eye exams and eye glasses sales.

It was easy to learn and the layout can be somewhat customized to your exam flow. It can take same data and graph it for you like IOP over time which is nice.

Its user interface is not the most attractive.

It is an easy to use EHR system. You can have a lot of different templates for the different types of exams you want to do. You can make quick buttons for easier billing and coding. Importing images  (ie OCT and fundus photos) was unfortunately always slow and would often crash or look like it loaded on one computer but then wouldn't show up on another one.

I like that Compulink is relatively customizable and allows all of the documentation needs to be met. Different tabs can be added depending on the specifics of the exam, and can be excluded when not necessary. For the most part, this program is reliable, organized, and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

There are many random quirks about this program that take a large amount of trial and error to figure out. Luckily in my setting, many of us find out these tips/tricks and share them to save time and energy.  However, it can be very frustrating at time if the correct box is not marked or the specific button is not clicked.

**Recommendations to others considering Compulink Advantage:**

I think overall this is a well rounded product that has many more good aspects than bad. Yes there are a few odd tricks to maneuver through some of the pages, but it is an efficient tool for documenting data during exams. It is definitely worth trying out and seeing for yourself!

Compulink needs to update their look and basic functions, a field should in today's day and age not have a character limit, that is just crazy. the software still looks like it did back in the 80s... Definitely needs a face lift to be more intuitive. it is not intuitive or user friendly at all, Officemate is much more user friendly.

keeping all the data in one place makes it easier to analyze patterns and growth.

I like that everything is easily accessible from one screen. It makes taking payments easy, as well as scheduling patients, and getting their appointment reminders.

most of the time the program runs super slow, there are several glitches in the system, in the billing portion, making patients pay more than should when ordering glasses.

Make sure employees are getting the proper training in the system, and note that at times compulink can be very very slow.

scheduling exams are much easier, students are having an easier time documenting patient exams and posting fees.

It is great to use, as long as you have a great IT department willing to do everything they can to make changes that improve the office's use of it.

the scheduler and the spectacle POS are better than average.  it took 15 years of nagging to get the spectacle POS, but it's made a huge difference in our practice.

**What do you dislike about Compulink Advantage?**

the ehr did not have input from practicing Optometrists.  there are many mistakes, so you must take the time to correct the mistakes in order to document properly.  there are endless pop up boxes and data boxes that make documenting extremely tedious.  you can customize screens if you have a programming background, but the custom screens to not receive updates. in general, this software was designed by programmers, for programmers, not optometrists.

Start with anything else, nothings perfect, but this product has too many problems out of the box.

This program is very easy to use. It is easy to locate patients, keep track of orders, and input invoices for frames and lenses.

The customer service is hard to get with, you can't speak to someone right when you call you have to put in a ticket and get called back which is hard to do when you are dealing with patients.

It is a good software, I would reccomend it to anyone looking to make their job easier.

A highly intuitive system with excellent connectivity. Data entry is easy and instructions are clear. Support services are prompt and always helpful and polite.

Laggy with certain computers, when functions stop working (like when searching for patient records to merge, I can no longer just hit the enter key, I have to press the search button).

I have tried three e-prescribing software programs and RxNT is by far the best. I use it at work, at home and on my iPhone/iPad and is extremely is to use. Highly recommend RxNT.

It has great potential. It allegedly has many bells and whistles.

1. Hurry up and wait for help. Usual response time is about 3 hours. This will NOT resolve issue. Issue usually takes 4 requests and 2 1/2 weeks before resolution. (Customer service is horrendous)
2. They always want more money. It is THE biggest money grab ala carte menu I've ever seen.
