While the platform offers comprehensive settings, the current long-form list makes locating specific options challenging

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Overall, it has been a blast running our community of currently 900+ people! My wife & I have no trouble since there are automations and tons of documentation. **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim L. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

We moved from Kajabi to Circle to host our full education and community platform. It’s been a huge upgrade. The UX is clean and polished, which matters a lot when you’re working with tech-savvy clients who expect the best. We’ve scaled to thousands of members without compromising experience. The way it blends courses, events, and community into one space just works.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

Segmenting still feels a bit limited, and we’d love better visibility on checkout conversion analytics. Push notifications can also be hit and miss. Nothing deal-breaking - but there’s definitely room to refine.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Circle has helped us deliver a premium learning and coaching experience without needing multiple tools. Our members get one seamless space to learn, connect, and take action - which boosts engagement and saves our team time.

**What do you like best about Circle?**

I love how you can make it your own brand and that there is direct messaging available.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

Unless you have the upgraded version the app is Circle as opposed to your brand and this isn't very helpful in terms of getting people on it.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To be honest we've had a real engagement issue. No one has really been in the platform so it's not really worked as we intended.

 ### 23. Brought Our Remote Global Community Together

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Very intuitive interface, works well for organization.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

The website eventually glitches and there are functionalities that could be better (eg. executing the same command in bulk).

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Circle helps to create a community that is easy to implement and user friendly.

 ### 26. Powerful Membership Management Tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos R. | Product Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Circle provides detailed tools to manage members, track activity, and control access. I find this very helpful for organizing the community, ensuring that members are in the right groups, and maintaining a safe environment.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

There are very few native gamification tools like points, badges, or leaderboards. I dislike that this limits ways to encourage member participation and reward engagement without external tools.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monetizing communities can be complex. Circle solves this by enabling paid memberships and subscriptions within the platform. This benefits me by creating a sustainable revenue model without relying on third-party payment tools, making it easier to manage income.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Lots of customization options for customers

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

It doesn't really work well for our needs

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not solving many. We use it to train customer but our customers don't use it.

 ### 29. Too many bugs, no real support

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emilie L. | Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

The concept and interface are great. It has real potential to build and engage a community in one place, with useful features like chat spaces, live rooms, and automations when they work.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

There are constant bugs in automations, live sessions can’t be run from mobile, users are redirected to lessons they’ve already completed, quizzes give wrong answers, and chat spaces display incorrectly. Worst of all, support is extremely unresponsive — I’m paying over $400/month and still haven’t received any reply to my reports.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It brings community, chat, and learning features together in one place, which makes it simpler to manage members and content.

 ### 30. Finally found the forever home for my community

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Circle?**

I've used three other apps/software services for my author communities, and none of them made member engagement as easy as Circle.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

The one quirk that can be a chellneg is that the features of the desktop and mobile app are different from each other, so some of my older members get confused from time-to-time.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since moving my community to Circle, engagement has increased significantly. Authors now participate in discussions more frequently because they no longer have to navigate between different platforms. It has allowed me to spend more time mentoring instead of managing technical details, leading to a richer experience for everyone involved. Circle Iis more than just a tool—it’s become the foundation for building a supportive community of writers who are leading engagement between each other.

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Circle has a very simple and intuitive interface. I enjoy that members can navigate easily, find discussions, and participate in conversations without confusion, which improves engagement and overall satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

While branding options exist, the overall page layout is not fully customizable. I find it difficult to create a unique design without extra CSS, which limits creative flexibility for my community.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Circle solves the problem of fragmented community management by bringing discussions, events, memberships, and content into one platform. This benefits me by reducing the need for multiple tools, simplifying workflows, and ensuring members have a seamless, organized space for engagement.

I enjoy Circle for its Versatility and training platform.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

I would like to see a better manner in which training courses are presented graphically.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Challenges regarding general communication and course presentation for my community.

 ### 34. Simple platform for communities (probably more powerful than I realize)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheryl S. | Founder and Registered Dietitian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

I find it very easy to navigate, post, add my branding, etc. If I have any trouble the support folks respond in less than 24 hours.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

They put a lot of effort into new advanced features which I don't feel I need. I just need help doing my basics well.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Circle is an alternative to Facebook groups for my (paid) community of people with heart concerns who are focused on eating better. I also use it as an alternative to Teachable for posting my online courses and recordings of live sessions with my group. For my members, who are typically at midlife or beyond, it's a fairly smooth log-in, and easy to use. The group is becoming a bigger part of my income every month.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haissa A. | Executive Assistant and Community Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

I had heard great things about Circle before, but now that I’ve started using it myself, I’m genuinely impressed. It’s so intuitive and beautifully designed. It makes both managing and participating in a community a smooth experience.

I absolutely love the features we have in our own community spaces, and how user-friendly everything is. Circle Academy is also a huge plus! The courses, the creator community, the gamification process… it’s all super engaging and inspiring. I’ve already learned so much and gathered tons of ideas to implement in our own community.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

So far, I haven’t noticed anything to complain about with Circle.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Circle, we had our community on Facebook and used a separate platform for our course content. Now everything is in one place, which has made things so much easier for us.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Circle allows my membership community to access me and each other.

 ### 39. I love everything about Circle, exept we have from time to time problems with live's and broadcasts.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Circle?**

It's easy to use and very friendly for users.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

We have problems with live meetings, people often have problems with sound, video.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to cultivate new culture.

 ### 40. The best platform I've ever used for community

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Easy access, good visualization, easy communication, integration, excellent layout

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

I would say that what bothers the most about Circle is that sometimes it can be a bit slow or freeze during high demand moments.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralization of communication: Instead of relying on multiple groups on WhatsApp, Telegram, or Facebook, Circle unifies everything in one place. This helps me have more control and organization of conversations and content.

Ease of access to content: It allows the creation of dedicated spaces for classes, materials, and discussions, making it easier for students to find exactly what they need. This reduces the number of private messages and repeated questions.

Engaged community: The environment encourages interaction among members, promoting the exchange of experiences and mutual support. This creates a collaborative atmosphere that has benefited me, as I see more participation and motivation from the students.

Automations and integrations: With the available automations and integrations, I can save time on manual tasks, such as approvals, sending notifications, and organizing members.

 ### 41. Connecting with our community of innovators has never been easier thanks to Circle

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura R. | Open Innovation Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

We have a vibrant community of people generating ideas every day. For the past few years, we've been working to connect with them on a deeper level—because we know they’re our most valuable asset. Circle has helped us make that happen, allowing us to hear their individual voices and maintain consistent, meaningful communication.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

I’d love to have more features for creating and personalizing spaces. Even when we try to make them look different, it’s not really possible to customize them the way we’d like.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need to get closer to our community and truly understand their needs and desires. With this, they can put a face to our team and connect with us directly.

 ### 42. Strong in many ways, but with surprising weaknesses.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

The Circle app is a great choice if you want to start and grow a community. It offers a lot of flexibility and customization, with different types of spaces that can emulate the functionality of well-known apps, such as WhatsApp-style chat, Facebook-like groups, or Instagram-style image galleries. It also allows you to set up courses and supports the integration of payment gateways, so you can easily offer free or paid content to your members.

As an admin, you’ll find a well-thought-out feature set that gives you a lot of control and adaptability.

We tried several similar platforms and ultimately chose the Circle because it offered the best overall package. If you’re looking for a community platform, you won’t go wrong with the Circle.

It also comes with a mobile app (which can even be custom-branded for an additional fee) that supports most of the features available in the browser version. Some tasks - especially certain admin functions - work better or are only available via the web interface.

The FAQ and help pages are excellent: clear, concise, and easy to search. Just google “circle + your keywords” and you’ll usually land directly on the right help article.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

Unfortunately, there are some areas where the Circle app is surprisingly weak.

For example, members can edit - and even delete - their posts indefinitely. While it's certainly a positive feature that users can correct mistakes at any time, this can easily be abused. Comments can be changed retroactively, which undermines the integrity of conversations.
We even had a case where a member accidentally deleted their opening post, which removed the entire thread - including valuable responses from other participants. When we reached out to Circle support for a backup, we were told that no such backup exists. This means a single user mistake - or someone deciding to delete their contributions - can lead to permanent data loss for the entire community.
There is no setting to limit editing or deletion rights to a specific time window (like WhatsApp’s 15-minute limit), nor is there an option to disable deletion rights altogether.

Another surprising weakness is the platform’s approach to privacy.
They appear to be in the process of revamping access control, which has led to inconsistencies - and the help pages are outdated in this regard, still referencing user interfaces or behavior that no longer exist.

We were quite shocked to discover that the member directory - including all personal profile data entered by our users - was publicly accessible by default. And by “public,” we mean completely open to the entire internet - no account and login required.
We had no choice but to set the member directory to "private", which unfortunately means only admins can now access it. As expected, many community members were unhappy with this, but there’s no middle ground: there's no way to make member profiles visible only to other logged-in community members, while hiding them from the public web.

To make matters worse, the global search function remains accessible to everyone on the internet. Just enter a common name - or even part of one - and you'll see a list of matching users. One click, and their full bios are visible again.
So if your community includes members who might share sensitive personal details (e.g. of a spiritual or psychological nature), you must warn them to either leave their bio empty, manually activate the “Hide from public” option in their personal profile settings, or accept that their information may be scraped by bots or indexed by search engines who don't adhere to the robots.txt standards.

When I contacted support about this privacy issue, their response wasn’t: “Thanks for pointing this out, we’ll fix it.” Instead, it was: “Yes, this is expected behavior.” 😳

In short, the member directory feature is practically unusable unless you can ensure that none of your members ever share anything remotely sensitive in it.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When you want to charge your members for high quality content, the Circle app allows a seamless integration of payment gateways that allow for a great user experience even including your community's name on the credit card statement.

 ### 43. Community Management in Circe

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

ustomizable Spaces: You can structure your community with spaces tailored to different topics, groups, or member types. This makes navigation and engagement straightforward for users.

Beautiful, Intuitive Design: Circle’s clean aesthetic makes both creating and consuming content feel easy and pleasant.

Engagement Tools: Features like rich text posts, direct messaging, events, and integrations with Zoom or Calendly make it easy to keep members active and interacting.

Member Management: Built-in tools for analytics, permissions, and segmentation let you track engagement and personalize member experiences.

White Labeling and Branding: You can customize the look and feel to match your brand, which enhances trust and professionalism.

Seamless Integration: Circle integrates with tools like Slack, Zapier, and email marketing platforms, helping you automate workflows and boost productivity.

Supportive Development Team: Frequent updates and responsiveness to user feedback make it feel like you’re part of a platform that’s evolving with your needs.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

There are a few functionality gaps worth noting. For example, when running a series of paid events, there's currently no straightforward way to offer a bundled price. The workaround can be a bit clunky and manual, which adds friction for both the organizer and the end user. We'd love to see more flexible monetization options in future updates.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're trying to create a bottom of funnel community to help upsell other services and so far, it's working decently well.

 ### 44. Fast community building, gamified features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

The team and their push for constnat innovation and improvement. The ease of adding content by multiple members of the team and also members, of course. Gamification.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

That we didn't quite understand the main value proposition and use Circle for something other than what its strengths are. If your digital product doesn't thrive on community elements, this is not for you. Building a community is actually harder than it seems, it's a constant strife for engagment from your members, be ready for it. For our part, we could have used better analytics to understand what it is that keeps our members there. Also, there is a lack of customization for landing pages and a bit of difficulty plugging it into a marketing funnel.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was quick to set up and get running. Very good embed features and ease of adding content, by multiple team members, even those that have never worked with online content publishing before.

 ### 45. wonderful

**What do you like best about Circle?**

It is easy to build and user friendly for al that join my community

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

That I would have to pay more for even just 1 course. I think 1 course could be added to the low tier option.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

better and easier to use platform for my members

 ### 46. Couldnt have built my course without it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Circle.so is the Best Platform I’ve Used for Building an Online Course + Community – Hands Down.

I’ve been using Circle.so to host my online course and private community, and honestly, it’s the best decision I’ve made. I’ve tried other platforms before, but nothing comes close to Circle when it comes to creating a smooth, professional experience for both myself and my students.

What I love most is how seamlessly it combines course content and community in one place. My members aren’t jumping between platforms—they’re learning, interacting, and growing all inside one beautiful space. It makes everything feel more personal and connected.

What really sets Circle apart though is the constant innovation. I’m genuinely surprised (in a good way) at how often they roll out new features that are actually useful. You can tell they listen to what creators want. Every update feels like it’s been designed to make my job easier and my student experience better.

If you’re thinking about launching a course, building a membership, or creating a space where your people can thrive—Circle.so is the one. Reliable, clean, intuitive, and built with creators in mind.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

Nothing! Iv had issues in the past but they actually listened to me and others which is very rare!

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

full control and access to customise my courses to how i like it!

 ### 47. Works well for our community

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

We love the interface. We wanted to create a community that wasn't on Facebook but had some of the light, accessible design. As a website designer with a focus on accessibility and WCAG guidelines it was important we had the right platform and I am pleased that we have. We have found the customer service space easily to find and have become familar with it, our users check in most days and find it easy to access.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

We do struggle a bit with membership tiers but that's mostly because we have the same rates. We'd like our members to have an affliate code but that's been a long time coming. We are niche and around mental health and support for people grieving so a lot of the target-driven posts in the Circle space isn't relevant for us.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to grow our podcast, which is about childless not by choice to form a CIC (Community Interest Company) and setting up a Circle to allow the community to talk to us was helpful. We can now cover our costs. I forgot to say that the audio and visual quality of the Go Live means we don't use this very much and lacks Zoom's filters which is a shame. It would be good to get rates for charities and CIC.

 ### 48. Easy and Clean

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

The most helpful thing about Circle is how frictionless and focused it makes community engagement. For my membership and community, my members don’t need to fight through noise or clutter to get what they came for. Whether it’s accessing lessons, joining live calls, connecting with each other, or getting support, Circle keeps everything organized and intuitive. I can structure spaces to match my frameworks and teaching flow, and that makes it easy for my members to stay engaged and on track.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

The app to desktop syncing is not always the best. Also, event & content sequencing isn’t fully built out. If you’re running structured programs with drip content or want strict module progression, it requires workarounds (like linking out or stacking posts manually).

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Circle, building a community meant stitching together Facebook Groups, Zoom, Kajabi/Teachable, Slack, Voxer, email... the list goes on. That created confusion for members and wasted my time managing tech instead of serving people. Also, my coaching frameworks, lessons, and tools were spread out or delivered ad hoc. That made it harder for members to access value and for me to scale impact.

 ### 49. A Powerful, All-in-One Platform That We Couldn't Do Business Without

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

We love that Circle allows us to host all of our frameworks, courses, meditations, live calls, and community engagement in one cohesive, easy-to-use space. Setting it up was surprisingly smooth given how much it can do, and their support team has been consistently responsive and helpful anytime we’ve needed them. We use Circle daily, both to manage our business and connect with members, and it’s become a central part of our ecosystem. It integrates well with our existing tools, and the features continue to evolve in ways that feel aligned with how we’re growing. Even with so much we haven’t tapped into yet, it’s already been a game-changer for us.

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

There’s honestly very little to critique. Circle strikes an impressive balance between flexibility and ease of use. As we’ve scaled, it’s given us the structure we need without boxing us in. Any learning curve we’ve experienced has been more about building out our unique vision than limitations with the platform itself.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Circle, we were piecing together multiple tools to deliver content, connect with members, and manage community engagement. Circle has eliminated that fragmentation. It allows us to offer a seamless member experience while saving us time, tech complexity, and operational headaches. We can focus on delivering meaningful transformation instead of managing 10 different platforms.

 ### 50. Circle is the best choice for dedicated community-builders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shalom O. | Head of Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Circle?**

Having compared the leading community platforms, I feel that Circle clearly wins in terms of features and overall UX for both community-builders and members. It uses common design patterns and information architecture that makes it easy to learn and use (even if you don't know what IA is). They also have a great support system that includes both self-serve support (on their Circle community) and on-demand customer support from real live people at Circle. I've come to use Circle every day, throughout the day, and the more I use it, the more I truly love it!

**What do you dislike about Circle?**

Some of the more advanced features, including AI integrations, are only available on more expensive tiers. While this makes business sense for Circle, I wish they would filter down more of those advanced features to their less expensive plans.

**What problems is Circle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need to create an online community and enable my members to receive and share relevant information and experiences (such as live meetings, forum posts, live chat, etc.).
