Very good product tour feature & helps you to save the UI effort on your product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It is a bit complex to use initially & takes some time to understand it.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are just launching PLG & it is helping us to create the guides so that a new user can also easily use it.

  ### 3. Super easy way to create tooltips

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam K. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing - it's been really great and I don't have any complaints!

  ### 4. Powerful tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben S. | Lead Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I have found Chameleon to be straightforward to use and implement. You can create something great in just a few minutes. It's easy to gain insights into the performance of your various tours and surveys. The activity feed and change log are excellent for teams, providing visibility into everyone's contributions. I also appreciate the ability to add other environments seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes, I find the design customisations to be a bit lacking – there are no options to adjust the distance between text and padding or the button padding. That might be to keep it easy-entry for some people.

I've also noticed that some of the demos feature cool popups, but I've found it frustrating trying to find the tools or settings they used to recreate them. For example I want to emulate the style of the purple walkthrough they have on the tours page. Just tell me how I can do that!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We us Chameleon to get feedback on how people would rate our product and then any particular feedback as to why they gavce that score. We also use it to highlight new features or parts of the account experience.

  ### 5. Chameleon has been great!

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love that we can quickly put up messages for our users without having to use engineering bandwith.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to not use engineering bandwith.

  ### 8. Powerful user engagement tool for SaaS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Lightweight & fully customisable features over the top of your existing product. Multi-lingual support is great. And Salesforce / API helps us target the right users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Their Enterprise offering has had a few teething issues with data integrations and reporting. But good CSM manager.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding users, Feature Adoption and optimising existing product.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> hey! Bummed to know that you only think of Chameleon as a 7/10 product -- I'd love to learn a bit more about what we can do to get to 9 or 10/10. Would you be willing to chat with me so we can resolve the data/reporting issues you might have had (and anything else letting you down)? If so grab time here: https://meetings.hubspot.com/pulkit-agrawal/15-min or shoot me an email (pulkit@chameleon.io). Thanks!

  ### 9. Nice tool to create user tours

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

  ### 10. Support is super quick and helpful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I have been using Chameleon to create micro-surveys for a couple of months now. It's really easy to use, and the one time I did have a question I could not figure out on my own, Max - a Senior Customer Support Team member was amazing and got me an answer super quickly!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is nothing I do not like about Chameleon.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting more data on why our customers are activating or deactivating employees.

  ### 11. Great Price, Great Features, Excellent Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As someone without a lot of technical expertise, I found Chameleon incredibly approachable. The no-code builder through the Chrome Extension made the task of designing tours much more manageable than I anticipated. It really feels like you’re creating something powerful without the technical overhead.

Customer support has also been top-notch, above and beyond. Any time I had a question or wanted to do something a bit outside the scope of what the program is built for they were there to answer my questions and come up with solutions.

Even though I don’t use Chameleon every single day, I love that I can hop back in whenever I need to create a new guide or modify an existing one. I feel confident using it, which speaks volumes considering I had very little technical background going in.

If you’re like me and want a tool that simplifies user onboarding while offering plenty of customizable options, Chameleon is a fantastic choice

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The only downside I can think of is the lack of really powerful analytics. There are some great analytics tools in Chameleon, more than enough for our needs, but I would say Chameleon is focused mainly on the guides, less so on the analytics, but there are TONS of third party integrations that can pull some extra weight on the analytics side if you want.

Overall, Chameleon is a top notch program with top notch customer support, and is perfect for creating robust tutorials and user guides in minutes, not weeks.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Chameleon to give our users a better idea of everything our software can do while they are in the "demoing" phase, and to help train our user's employees on the ins and outs of our software. This has the effect of cutting down on our in person training time and also freeing up our Customer Support bandwidth for answering specific questions, letting our users find most answers on their own.

  ### 12. Customer engagement tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The customer support and learning! When you work with Chameleon, you are more than just a customer. You are also a partner with them. I often get inspiration/ideas from syncs, the blog, help center, and website. When I have a specific "how to" question, I know that Chameleon is just an email or call away to help me find a solution to what I want to do with the product on my website.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing - I have had nothing but a great experience working with Chameleon

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon experiences to share new or enhanced features with our customers within the product, provide additional support or self-service solutions for onboarding, and create unique experiences for subgroups of users.

  ### 13. Fantastic In-App Engagement Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon provides autonomy to product and marketing teams to create in-app notifications, onboarding flows, and surveys. With an intuitive UI, functionality flexibility, and straightforward integration, applications can use Chameleon to provide mass consumer friendly informational experiences.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is an opportunity to be more mobile friendly.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing autonomy to product and marketing team members to optimize user education.

  ### 14. Essential tool in our CS stack

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiffany D. | Customer Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon integrates well with our CDP and allows us to build microsurveys, banners and tours for existing customers to raise awareness and promote adoption of our product. Building new tours is intuitive, and I'm able to regularly ship new in-app programs due to the template feature that makes them easy to spin up. Support is great and responsive to our needs, and they continually ship features to make the product better. Excited about the new acquisition of Driveway too!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

As this is the first tool of this type I've used, I can't really think of any downsides. I was not the implementation owner so I can't speak to ease of implementation, but as an end-user the only complaint is that sometimes loading the tour builder can be a bit glitchy. Otherwise I'm a happy Chameleon camper.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Driving awareness of new features, Driving adoption through product tours. Chameleon helps our customers reach their objectives faster and helps us meet our own goals around time to value.

  ### 15. Nifty Plug In to Enhance User Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick B. | Digital Content Creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is laid out in such a way that is easy to navigate, build, and has been very reliable. They continue to enhance their product and upgrade the weaker aspects of the offering. One would likely be impressed with the versatiility of tools, the integratibility, and the fact you can dive right in and create simple things, but also get creative and complex with walkthroughs and in-depth features.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There are a few bugs in what is a very complex builder plug-in. The whole ecosystem has so many options, you may not even encounter some of the few hiccups they have from time to time, though. Chameleon does tend to be changing where things live and how things are categorized or the nomenclature, but it is simply a sign of growth.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us better communicate with users of our digital platform and gives them important updates and tips that are otherwise hard to get in front of the client.

  ### 16. Very easy to use and works great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Giving users a way to get help via a launcher that goes to help videos. Also we can notify them when we have announcements such as releases and scheduled downtime.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We haven't really had much to dislike. Since i'm forced to type in something i'd say that it's a little limiting in terms of design when a non-tech person is invloved.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to guide users through our app and give them help navigating it. We also needed to let them know about Releases and scheduled downtime. Also if we have new features, it helps to let users know.

  ### 17. Fantastic choice with great out of the box integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miles V. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love the affordability x power combo that comes with chameleon that other solutions charge significantly more for.

The support from the team is stellar and our CSM Andrew is impeccable when it comes to his role, following up, and supporting even when his schedule is full.

The entire team is open to feedback, curious, and insightful and have helped us out on unique cases to us and helped us work through more challenging issues and challenges.

Last, they're innovating and adding new functionality quickly that helps us accomplish goals, objectives, and other strategic scenarios that we've been dwelling on for some time.

They're a hungry team with a quick bias towards action and are good at what they do.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I dont have anything that I dislike about Chameleon currently.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They're solving problems around in app engagement as well as analytics and helping us to introduce brand new features and releases to our larger, active client base.

  ### 18. Easy way to create surveys

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Özgün Ezgi A. | Client Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how easy it is to create surveys and get reports from it.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Creating tours could be a bit more easier.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easier for me to collect feedback from the clients and implement possible changes to the platform. I might create some onboarding tours as well in the future.

  ### 19. Easy tool to get up and running quickly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The Customer Success team at Chameleon have been incredibly helpful and supportive in getting our usage of Chameleon up and running.

While we're early in our usage of the product, the experience so far has been very straight forward and mostly intuative.
Using Chameleon for NPS and CES surveys has been quite simple, the Tours functionality using the Chrome plug-in is highly customisable, just takes a little adjustment to get used to.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

So far, not a great deal. If you're looking for a best in class NPS tool, Chameleon is not the market leader; however if you're looking for a single tool that can do it all well, Chameleon is a great solution.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Chameleon to understand NPS, CES and to build in-product tours.

  ### 20. Awesome for product adoption

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo B. | Head of UX, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We've been using Chameleon for over a year and couldn't be happier with it. The platform is stable, reliable, and offers a wide range of features to deliver the right experiences to the right users at the right time. I particularly like the Rate Limiting feature because it has helped our UX team control the overall experience with tours on our platform. Thanks to this, we avoid overwhelming users with too many experiences, allowing us to plan, prioritize, and schedule effectively. I also appreciate how easy it is to build things with the Chameleon launcher. Lastly, their help center and customer support are very helpful and comprehensive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I'd say it is a bit difficult to set the size of certain inputs in microsurveys. Some users have mentioned that the buttons in these experiences are too small.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating new features and increasing user engagement. Chameleon has helped us reduce friction with new releases and gather user feedback quickly. We also measure key metrics like NPS with it.

  ### 21. Amazing customer experience, growing tool with a lot of promise

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

They are paying attention to the customer, not only in support and service, but in requests to keep the software on trend and leading the curve. They have a nice WYSIWYG interface that lets you design in context and have continued adding enhancements and updates based on feedback as long as I've been working with them (~4 yrs). Overall the ability to add tours, just in time information, and support in the product to our customers has been a huge value add.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Because of their nature as a small and innovative startup the positive of listening to feedback and constantly releasing updates and new features goes hand and hand with some bugs, but their CX team is fabulous to work with and incredibly responsive.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to serve up communications, tips, tours, aids, and announcements to our customers while not requiring time and investment from our engineers who can remain focused on our core product.

  ### 22. Great product, excellent customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The product is very easy to use and the support and engineering teams are amazing! If I run into issues, the team not only answers all my questions, but continues to follow through to help me find a resolution.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Because of our more complicated use cases, launching Chameleon requires more assistance from our internal engineering team than I anticipated. It's been a learning curve for our design and engineering teams. I also wish event-based triggers and merge tags were available, because most of our use cases center around user events.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding and educating users, to take some of the load off our support team.

  ### 23. Excellent onboarding product, with a few kinks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The product/platform is feature-rich and supports many of our use cases. Many team members enjoyed it's ease-of-use and helpful customer support. We use the product frequently, about every other day mostly to create new experiences that save the engineering team a lot of effort.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It took our team a bit of time to onboard this product, and we have experienced a few issues with our reporting and logging products. We're seeing some customer issues that are recorded that no one appears to be able to reproduce.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We thoroughly enjoy the Helpbar feature, it appears to be the most used and beneficial feature.
It takes time to build an onboarding feature with a small team of front-end engineers + backend support. With Chameleon, it took us a few days to implement and test.
We run many A/B experiments to see how customers engage with the product and see where we could improve certain funnels in our product.

  ### 24. Flexible and scaling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Appreciate that Chameleon is continually updating functionality

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

UX can be limiting and buggy, specifically when trying to place elements for tours and tooltips.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enables product teams to create and manage their own in-app flows and messaging without depending on engineering teams

  ### 25. It does the job!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I'm not sure I can tell what I like about the Chameleon, it does the job it's not the easiest to use tho.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some of the configurations are not very intuitive.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps in customer onboarding for new products releases.

  ### 26. Chameleon is still the best in-app communication platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

By using Chameleon, our product team can engage with users without relying on Engineering, which ultimately improves our KPIs.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We run into occasional minor bugs. Support helps us, but I would want to encounter less of them.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon enables the Product and Marketing team to directly affect the desired key results (e.g. activation, engagement, retention, conversion, expansion, upgrades) through in-app communication, as well as personalized email campaigns that lead to Chameleon experiences.

  ### 27. Perfect tool for budget conscious startups to empower onboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kade B. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Onboarding tours, easy to use chrome extension, custom branding, embeddables, tooltips, easy setup. Price was extremely attractive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some unnecessary paywalls for non-growth plans like webhooks and a limited number of CDP tracked events are frustrating.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon enables me to create in-app experiences to empower my customers to self-serve features and functionality without having to build and maintain something custom that requires engineering resources.

  ### 28. Great experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor B. | Senior Product Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Kevin Brown has been the most helpful resource I've ever had the pleasure of working with on an external tool. Despite some limitations that I've had with the helpbar he's worked diligently to work with me on finding a solution and has always been pleasant and responsive. He even helped me rope in Chameleon engineers and took on conversations with Zendesk on our behalf. Very happy with the support we've received from Kevin.

Aside from this, the platform is very user friendly. I love how easy it is to navigate and build features.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Minimal limitations on the helpbar but I'm sure this is being worked on via my discussions with Kevin.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In-app guidance tours, tooltips, launchers, walkthroughs, and a helpbar that is more customizable than Zendesk's native helpchat.

  ### 29. A really good and easy to use platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mangal J. | Sr PMM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how easy it is to set up things. The support is also pretty good and Nuno has been excellent as a CSM for us.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I have found the app to be buggy someplaces. Hope that you folks would iron these out.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To show in-app context for feature alerts, tours, putting up banner. Love the embeddables-trying out new things with it.
Alerting different segments with different messages across the app.

  ### 30. Great tool for user communication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalem G. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has been a great tool allowing myself and other users to create targeted messaging for our customers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We've put in a number of Tours finding the right one can be difficult. Filters and tags help.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us communicate updates and new information to our users very quickly.

  ### 31. Great!

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy element selection for tours etc is great.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Ability to use different fonts without CSS.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needing to use devs efforts to create tours, tooltips, checklists and banners.

  ### 32. Chameleon is like a cherry on the cake for product people

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's intuitive and simple. It takes a minimum amount of time to put together an in-app announcement or to create a walk-thru. I don't need to rely on the engineers and use their time to communicate changes in the product. My team uses Chameleon on frequent basis. Just love it.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It wasn't straightforward to me from the first time how I can support various languages and where they can be set. It took some time to figure out.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a tool that would help us to increase platform adoption, improve the onboarding experience, and a better more efficient way to communicate changes to our customers.

We continue experimenting with Chameleon but saw the results from the first month. It's so easy to set up an announcement or create a walk-thru. You don't need to rely on the entire team to make it happen and you don't need to distract your engineers. Using Chameleon is a win-win for everyone.

  ### 33. Flexible and friendly.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** olivia m. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Work flow is simple! easy to quickly to input prepared scripts and so easy to add buttons and images. Looks put together without much effort and I love the templates so I don't have to waste time recreating the same gradients all the time.

Enjoying the AI suggestions! Helpful to unblock creativity right in the app.

The customer support rocks! Kevin and Mat are the best.

Really enjoying pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the walkthroughs as part of our training process.

Flexible enough to make it work for our special use cases, easy enough that regular announcements can be quickly spun up.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes I struggle to link things like microsurvey and tours I wish this intigration was easier/I could link things that are not yet live/published

I also wish it would keep my formate step to step ie font size and color automticly copied one step to the next etc.

It would be cool if there was a built in color picker!

I wish the Helpbar was more friendly to be used in multiple products on the back end. It is currently a challenge to publish this without disrupting other products using the helpbar.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spend a lot of time live training right now and moving towards using chameleon as one of many elements to replace that. We have old UI that isn't that intuitive with clients with a lot of turn over so tours and call outs help bring attention flow where it needs to go.

Increasing use it for internal and external annoucments

  ### 34. Chameleon has been great for our FinTech Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We love Chameleon! This tool allows non-technical users to add helpful tooltips, tours and embeds into our portal. This allows for extreme customization and personalization for our users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Hard to find anything to dislike about Chameleon :) It does take a little bit of tech knowledge to manage multiple accounts, but they have continually made this easier. So no real complaints!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a Fintech platform that serves a specific market. Many times our clients have unique needs. It is very challenging for our tech team to do custom development for every client--so Chameleon is perfect for meeting unique requests without making code changes to the core application.

  ### 35. Level up your product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon can help fill in any nonintutive product gaps. Using tool tips and embeddables is perfect for customers who prefer a more self serve experience rather than needing to rely on or interact with support teams. You can also get pretty creative with how you use chameleon to figure out the best method for your use case.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon isn't always so intuitive to use but once you get the hang of how to navigate certain features, it because more of a muscle memory!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping address and decrease the number of questions we freqeuntly receive from customers to decrease the amount of support resources necesary

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> Hi, I appreciate your note about the learning curve. We know that certain features can take a bit of time to get used to, and we're working to improve how we provide education or resources to ease it. Would love to hear what components/features you feel are less intiuitive or confusing so we can make things smoother.

Also, very thrilled to hear that Tooltips and Embeddables are teaming so well for you to drive your self-serve motion forward! Deflecting tickets and getting creative with in-app engagement, is just the kind of impact we love to hear about ✨

Thank you for your feedback!

  ### 36. Great experience for a Product Designer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Possibility of use (research, tour, etc.)

I haven't used another platform in the same way, but this one seemed very intuitive and practical. What also helped me learn was that my team created support material.

Most of our products use Chameleon today.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Honestly, I don't think I've used it enough to have that perception.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, with an in-product NPS survey that allowed me to speak to my user more effectively than via email

  ### 37. Absolute must to optimize your UX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor J. | User Experience Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Since Chameleon is a no / low code solution, almost anyone can make changes. Prior to Chameleon, we were hard coding everything into our application and it made it time consuming to make even minor changes. With Chameleon, once it was implemented in our environments it's incredibly easy to have any layperson go in and make updates whenever they need.

I like the robust set of use cases that Chameleon supports. Right now we're using it for product announcements, microsurveys for market and product research, product walkthroughs, messaging for upselling and payment reminders, with plans across the organization to use it for much more.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There's a bit of a learning curve to using how to successfully setup and deploy different features, but that's to be expected with any tool that's as customizable as this one. I've found their support team and help content very heplful in these scenarios.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my personally, the microsurveys are a way for me to gather product and market research in-context. Prior to Chameleon we were using a tool called Sprig for this; when we were evaluating a digital adoption platform, being able to do in-app microsurveys was a need so we could consolidate our tech stack. It's so much more powerful now because we're able to feed that data back to other systems internally, whereas with Sprig we didn't have that setup.

Across the org we're also using it for payment reminders, cross sell messaging, with all sorts of self-service initiatives planned. It's directly benefit our support, sales, product, and research teams.

  ### 38. Great tool for product awareness, adoption, and onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel S. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Once familiar with the tool, it's easy to quickly spin up product tours and in-app experiences, which is great for a fast-paced Product team that ships new features constantly. I find myself using Chameleon almost every day, and they're always adding new functionality to enhance the user experience. We were able to easily integrate with Segment and other tools in our stack, and the Chameleon team has been very responsive when any issues or bugs have arisen.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Occasionally there are bugs, but that's to be expected with any software and they are quickly resolved. I would like to see more in-depth user analytics and journey mapping across experiences, which is something on their roadmap that I've already seen improvements on in the past year I've been using Chameleon.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are increasing awareness of new and existing features, tracking product adoption, and supporting more of a self-serve motion for our customers.

  ### 39. Good Product Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The built out tours and tooltips are super easy to follow and helpful. The dashboard is nice to see at quick glance for engagement. It's been a very easy system to learn and utlize. Implmentation was done by someone at our organization, however it was seamless so their implmenation from the Chameleon team seems to have been done well. I have not had to use the system too much or engaged with customer support at this time, so cannot speak to those areas. Overall this has been a good product to work with.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish there was an easier way to make templates for use cases for our in-app messaging.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assisting our company in getting messaging up in our product to customers when something is not functioning properly and may affect thier ability to use the product.

  ### 40. Very user-friendly and effective tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | Growth Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Our organization doesn't have a clear owner of Chameleon surveys, but that hasn't mattered since it's very user-friendly. I was able to login and setup segments, microsurveys, and tours with very little additional learning required. And the information we've been able to gather has been very helpful in understanding the current state of our customer base, while gleaning information on how we can improve our platform to target a different type of customer.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wasn't familiar with markup language, so I found the styling features to be a little more difficult than I felt they should be, but once I figured that out it was fine.
I would also love to run slightly more complex microsurveys with more steps, which I haven't quite figured out yet.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon makes in-platform prompts, surveys, and tours easy for our business, helping us easily promote new features, learn more about our users, and use it all to make informed decisions.

  ### 41. Easy to spin up for small teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christye W. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to onboard, powerful features, good customer support. Especially appreciate the UX of the builder tools, which make it easy to build flows that look on-brand.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some clunkiness around triggering pop-ups off existing UI elements, but that could be more a problem with our app.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We launched a product-led growth model in Q1 2024 and implemented Chameleon to create a specific customer experience for trialists.

  ### 42. Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tommy M. | Growth Team Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

So easy to implement and easy to build. No coding needed at all!
You can set up any type of customer communication with just a few simple clicks.
Anyone can use it, you do not need to be techniclly savy

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing! The platform is easy to navigate and makes things easy to set up and track.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had used other in app customer communication products that were not as reliable and required code to create. Chameleon requires little to no code and setting up audience segments is very easy. Super simple to use

  ### 43. Great tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate D. | Customer Lifecycle Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to use once you get familiar with how it's set up. I had never used a tool like this previously and was up in running in a day to launch a new marketing initiative.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The terminology isn't very inituitive. Having the nav bar drop down when you click on Embedables to show the options that live inder embedables would be helpful.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to show important messages like new features or changes to features to our customers who might not see the email notification.

  ### 44. Chameleon Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how it is able to be linked to specific elemeonts on the page, it's easy to implement and integrate with the software, and it is able to assist our customer's in a Self Help model to ease our support team.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It took a little bit to get us all trained on the processes

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is helping our Customers help themselves so it gives more time to our support team to handle other more prevelant issues

  ### 45. It has become our eyes and ears before the client.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo V. | Product and Operational Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The usability of the platform, being low code, allows us to deploy tours, surveys, among others, without the need for a technical team. Additionally, the information from the case studies is great to make more use of.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I believe the helpbar is a great tool but it would be very useful to explore integrations with tools like help centers to properly document the platform.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The digital adoption of the platform, as the functionalities can be somewhat complex to understand. Understand the customer's perception at a granular level with NPS and satisfaction surveys.

  ### 46. Easy to use, plenty of features and easy to implement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annie O. | Engagement Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Use of integrations - like typeform. Our customer support specialist keeps us updated with new features and troubleshooting. Overall pretty easy and intuative features that keeps us frequently making new tours.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

A little buggy with the builder - sometimes the positioning gets funky or that it just will not let you edit the text or find the builder in general.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More engagement with our app - pointing out features quicker than customer finding them

  ### 47. Chameleon is easy to use and the team is very helpful.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to integrate. Easy to use. Pretty intuitive. Team is very helpful and quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The data collection and presentation could be a bit better, and I can't see who has not taken the surveys (to be fair this might be a security risk). Sometimes the system confuses different elements which can cause poor tour experiences. Sometimes there are weird bugs and not all tours fire the same.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In-app training through tours. User feedback through microsurveys. Announcements. Adoption experiments. In-app disclaimers.

  ### 48. Useful platform and very intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon offers features like in-app tours, tooltips, surveys, and more. It can be used to improve user onboarding, increase feature adoption, and reduce support tickets.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

You need an extension to edit your messaging, and it seems to only work with Chrome. I can't set it up for other browsers.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon offers features like in-app tours, tooltips, surveys, and more. It can be used to improve user onboarding, increase feature adoption, and reduce support tickets.

  ### 49. Chameleon has improved the in-product experience.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

- Quick launching and overall ease of use of dashboard
- Good integration with CRM systems
- Simple

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

- Editing chameleon messages (specifically tours) can be finnicky (e.g., difficult to edit text)
- Limited analytics

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using Chameleon, we didn't have a clear way of communcating to customers who were using our product (outside of email). Using chameleon has allowed us to drive important CTAs, urgent notifications, and product upsells.

  ### 50. Easy tool for creating, managing, and publishing in-product communications

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I tend to use it to introduce features that we have recently released. Chameleon makes it pretty easy to design a functional popover that gives users a heads up about new capabilities and can link out for more info like documentation or even connect to an event or action. It is pretty easy to brand it at least decently well so it looks similar to your design system. The best part is I can do alot of it without any technical skills.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UX is a bit odd-- important information like the conditions of when and where the popover appears is managed in the "builder view" instead of on the details page. There is also limited control over the UI, so things like the "dismiss icon" button look kind of janky, positioning is limited, and to do anything more complicated with targeting or behavior you will still need an engineer to help you.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is a low-lift way for us to create and manage in-product communications to our customers. Typically this is to let them know about new features we've shipped.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Hey, bummed to see you think of Chameleon as a 6/10 but we'd love to get better. We do provide some info about conditions on each individual Step (which are configured in our "Builder") within our Dashboard -- I've added a screenshot below to help you locate this (when viewing the Analytics on any Experience).

Regarding configuration of components like the dismiss; we've tried to find a balance between what the most commonly used and familiar patterns are for users and more advanced customization via custom CSS. We want to avoid becoming a "Photoshop" of UI options as that causes decision fatigue and can be overwhelming. But if there was a specific design change or something you were looking for that you felt was common then let us know. We'll also be releasing (in the next week) an overhaul to our default spacing so that everything looks and fits better.

On the complicated targeting/behavior, we do have options to let someone write some custom JS to trigger an Experience, but once you're sending data to Chameleon (which can happen through integrations or code) then you should be able to create audiences based on that data without any engineering. One thing we're adding to make that easier is the ability to leverage events and event properties in a more advanced way -- look out for that in the next ~month.
