Catsy gave us the architecture to model all of it properly. The platform's ability to enforce which attributes belong at which level of the hierarchy is exactly what governance-from-scratch requires. Most PIMs force you to work around this kind of structure with process and discipline alone; Catsy bakes it into the data model itself. The Custom Entities capability is a standout: we're migrating a complex compatibility matrix — dozens of drivers, engine constructions, and hundreds of tested combinations — from denormalized Excel sheets into a proper relational model inside Catsy. The ability to define entity tables with their own attribute sets and link them to products is not something most mid-market PIMs offer at all, and it's a genuine differentiator for manufacturers with technically complex catalogs. More broadly, Catsy gave us the structure to build a governed, clean PIM from scratch rather than inheriting an organically grown mess. Like any software, there obviously have been updates . And with updates there have been issues (mostly on our side). Recommendations to others considering Catsy DAM & PIM: We use Catsy PIM as our product repository for our Order Entry System. The major consideration for us was the fact that ALL of the product information maintenance could be done in one location. Prior to our implementation, product information was stored in folders all over our system. Trying to make sure that the information was current everywhere was impossible. We now have everything in one place with only a few people needed to make sure we have the correct product information, but images as well (something we didn't have prior to Catsy). Mapping product attributes to customer-specific templates is efficient and repeatable, and once the setup is complete, managing SKU loads, exports, and data delivery becomes seamless. This has eliminated countless manual Excel processes and significantly reduced the risk of errors. The ability to use custom calculations for product mapping has also been a major time-saver, helping us accurately manage thousands of SKUs at once. Adding new products was a challenge for us (we used to use a combination of google sheets and excel). Now we use templates to import the data and it is a lot more manageable. We get a data completeness score that tells us what's missing before a product can go anywhere. And our images are now centralized with version control - that's also a win for us. Our data has endless variations. Our products come in various finishes and combinations. Before Catsy, we were managing this data in spreadsheets with a lot of duplication. We had data inconsistencies with specs. Now with parent / child relationships, our data is cleaner with fewer inconsistencies and it takes us less time to introduce new products. We hoped for a quick rollout but it took us a few more weeks to go live because we had to cleanup years of inconsistent spreadsheet mess. Catsy solved some of our biggest headaches around images and product information. Our products have a lot of specifications and deep product data. Having the right type of pim and not something generic was key to us. The Catsy platform was able to organize and standardize our data in a way that empowered us to solve various measurements and units. Now new items are quicker to setup, they are more complete and they flow to our channels with ease. We've grown our channel footprint without adding content headcount. Catsy DAM & PIM has proven to be a user-friendly and reliable platform for managing our product information and digital assets. One of its greatest strengths is the flexibility of the platform and the responsiveness of the Catsy technical team. Our organization manages a large and complex product catalog, and the standard out-of-the-box integration did not fully meet our scalability requirements. The Catsy team worked closely with us to design and implement a customized integration with our web platform, demonstrating strong technical expertise and a commitment to our success. Over the past four years, we have experienced continuous improvements in the platform. While there were some challenges during the initial implementation phase, the Catsy support and engineering teams were highly responsive, helping us resolve issues quickly and establish a stable operating model. My favorite part of Catsy is how easy it is to customize your view to edit data in mass. Most of the time I'm used to working in databases, but rarely do I have to export data in order to update even multiple product lines at the same time.
