**What do you like best about Catsy?**

We came to Catsy with a genuinely complex product data challenge: a specification-grade lighting manufacturer with a multi-level product hierarchy, hundreds of attributes split across product families and individual SKUs, and a relational driver-engine compatibility matrix that had been living in spreadsheets for years. Catsy gave us the architecture to model all of it properly.

The platform's ability to enforce which attributes belong at which level of the hierarchy is exactly what governance-from-scratch requires. Most PIMs force you to work around this kind of structure with process and discipline alone; Catsy bakes it into the data model itself.

The Custom Entities capability is a standout: we're migrating a complex compatibility matrix — dozens of drivers, engine constructions, and hundreds of tested combinations — from denormalized Excel sheets into a proper relational model inside Catsy. The ability to define entity tables with their own attribute sets and link them to products is not something most mid-market PIMs offer at all, and it's a genuine differentiator for manufacturers with technically complex catalogs.

One of the features we rely on most is Catsy’s custom channels. Mapping product attributes to customer-specific templates is efficient and repeatable, and once the setup is complete, managing SKU loads, exports, and data delivery becomes seamless. This has eliminated countless manual Excel processes and significantly reduced the risk of errors. The ability to use custom calculations for product mapping has also been a major time-saver, helping us accurately manage thousands of SKUs at once.

Catsy’s DAM and asset management functionality is just as impressive. Organizing, managing, and distributing digital assets alongside product data keeps everything aligned and up to date. Catsy's ability to not duplicate any piece of content and deliver true on the promise of centralizing product information. We reviewed other systems and found they either lack flexibility or compromise on really creating the single source of truth. One example is our previous PIM (entry level) had us recreate each attribute for channels. Catsy has another layer of attributes on a per channel basis that extend the master attributes. Adding new products was a challenge for us (we used to use a combination of google sheets and excel). Now we use templates to import the data and it is a lot more manageable. We get a data completeness score that tells us what's missing before a product can go anywhere. And our images are now centralized with version control - that's also a win for us. There is some upfront work involved in setting up taxonomy and defining fields. But that's a one-time cost, and it's the reason why imports are more streamlined.
