The great part about BrandMentions is it literally looks everywhere, not only the big socials. The majority of apps I experimented with, such as Brand24 and Brandwatch, primarily focused on Twitter or Instagram. However, here, it even checks weblogs, random news pages, and even some forums I didn’t think people still use. That depth of coverage is its biggest win for me. Once you finish the setup, the usability is solid. The dashboard is clean and the alerts are very clear. I use it every day. It has a ton of features. The sentiment analysis really blows me away and the competitor tracking is great. Way beefier than other tools in this price category. TBH, it was kind of a bitch those first few times we set up the big monitoring projects. The set-up initially has a little bit of a learning curve (I felt a bit overwhelmed trying to get the filters in just the right place to prevent noise). It wasn’t quite plug-and-play easy (it took a couple of hours of fiddling to get everything set up just right). But once you get the hang of it, the things you learn from it are awesome, and more than worth that initial time spend. I would also say that although customer support was responsive when I contacted them, I had to be the one to reach out to ask for guidance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is BrandMentions solving and how is that benefiting you? The most successful thing for me is to save time, to be honest. I don’t gotta stalk myself on a dozen different platforms. The alerts come through quite quickly with mentions from all across the web, and I can actually do something with that intel, instead of spending hours trying to track mentions down manually. It’s solving for the blind spot on conversations that happen outside of the big social networks, where some of our most valuable customer feedback has been discovered. This has a direct impact on our SEO and content strategy as it shows us what subjects are relevant, what people are asking, and enables us to manage brand reputation by addressing issues as soon as we can.
