The entire system is very stable, with no problems with crashes or bugs. It is planned for vendors and software developers. The benefits I encountered while using this system are that It offers a variety of ways to produce and handle Web APIs for applications. Its capabilities help to build and publish APIs for professionals and app developers. The best thing is that It has different programming languages, which include Java, C, C++ and more. Users may be able to create APIs on-site or on the cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As it is planned for developers to build APIs, it is costly for small teams and organizations. The lack of robustness is a major issue, including the awareness of how the Azure software works, with costs that are difficult to sustain over a long period of time, primarily monthly. Another major drawback is Varieties of APIs are found in it, but some of them are not lightweight and compliant with other applications. It is difficult to incorporate with the services of other apps. the introduction of other applications are not consistent with this system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It helps the user to publish, maintain and transform their APIs securely. It helps the user to maintain and monitor the health of APIs. It helps to identify errors and configure correcting. It helps to create and manage roles of users and define usage and policies of end-to-end APIs. It is providing a central place for the management of thousands of APIs over multiple platforms. It is providing a mechanism of access controls and authentication to ensure the security of APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If comparing it with other API management platforms they are offering varieties of capabilities, tools, features and options but then they are lacking the ease of interface. Various azure integrations are provided in it but it should provide integration with other external services. It also needs improvements in their on-premises services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
User is able to publish APIs through it in more secure ways. It is easy to manage security in it with its policies. It helps in identifying errors and bugs more easily. Roles regarding the user can be easily created and managed thorugh it. it is provided with all essential tools and features for management of APIs. It is providing several policies and usage regarding APIs. Multilayered protection for APIs is provided in it. It provides proper insights and visualization for APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is offering easy user interface as compared to other API management services but it is lacking some capabilities and features that should be updated in it. Some improvements and upgradations are needed in its on-premises facilities. It should provide various helpful options regarding administrations so that they will be able to generate bills more easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is par the best service I have seen in the cloud which is very easy to host and manage your APIs. The best part is monitoring and analyzing the issues so easily. The support from Microsoft is also so fast whenever needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing much to dislike. Querying part must be improved to get all the data to an excel for analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Allows individuals across the organization to collaborate on the brainstorming, creation, testing, refinement, and ultimate publication of APIs. Provides a single location for teams to work on the back end of the API and deploy it for use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not all members of the team will be equally willing to use the management tool or equally skilled with employing its functions. Creating a new API project can also be slow and time-consuming, which is difficult when projects need to move quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It provides excellent links for API communication, modernizes the standard of delivery and monitoring of queries and resources to use, I love having all the connections and data in one platform and connect to the back-end from wherever and the best everything is protected from end to end to ensure your integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The services contract is based on each hour and the queries in the long run become somewhat expensive if you have many APIs where there is a constant connection connection so you will have to increase the plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Azure is designed with various features that combine various API's in a single product, as per the demands of the client. It combines as the easiest and the most efficient way of implementing an API scheme in an organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is a bit complicated to use for beginners/ learners and the support is also slow to answer various concerns from clients. Besides, creating a new API is time-consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First evaluated when we tried to break the applications into functional pieces and micro pieces by introducing microservices and developing RESTful APIs. Once we started developing RESTful APIs, we were in need of test those APIs, educate developers about the models, publishing catalogs, authenticating and authorizing users for API usage, expose some of the APIs externally available in a central place. Tried AWS API gateway, swagger and few others and end up with using Azure API management because of below reasons:
1. Existing relationship with Microsoft Azure
2. Heavy use of DocumentDB
3. Very cost effective
4. Extensive monitoring & logging capabilities
5. Helpful Admin & Developer portals
6. Easy AD integration
7. Multi-region deployment
10. HA and fault tolerance
If you campare with AWS API Gateway, it is not the best but good enough for my need. It is still a strong enough tool for provisioning, managing and monitoring any type of APIs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Azure API management is essentially PaaS. You need to move your all controls to internet/cloud. It took long time for our information security and legal to work on to come to an agreement. Long frustrating wait time.
Azure API management does not provide a way to generate SDK. You need to copy sample code from developers portal and use.
Has hard limits for each tier and that may creates lot of problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
API management is a great program for process of design, publishing, documenting and analyzing APIs in a secure environment. It provides me with the ability to keep APIs in a store or catalog where I can expose them to internal and/or external stakeholders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It truly is a great program, but I'd say it's only downfalls is that it can get expensive at first, as well as it's not as quick to use as they make it out to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We can rank representatives out throughout the whole dept by overall and individual metrics. We can also easily see how other depts are performing with just a few clicks. This helps out a lot with internal job transfers to other depts. azure API Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find when I have this application open that my other computer programs run very slowly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Great for beginners - It has everything you'd need for a fully-functioning API. And when you signup/register, you get full access to all of the functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a great platform for beginners (like stated above) but once you get more advanced with your work, you might have to look into a platform that is more customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that the system is made up of three components - API gateway, Azure portal, and the developer portal. This creates an organized atmosphere for creating and managing APIs as well as distinguished process for completing the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It takes quite awhile to move all controls to the cloud which in turn created some havoc for IT and legal to work on this project together as each had their own concerns to deal with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like with this software everything is condensed in one place. I also like that you only pay for how much of the software you use and very clear graphics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once pricing begins it can get a little high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used this in previous roles in the past, and it is a spectacular program as far as analyzing API's in a secure environment. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a robust API Management tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Short time to production is a HUGE benefit . Also the fact that it’s basically free to test out in production mode is great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It seems like there’s a lack of documentation (which is a problem for us company wide for most new processes). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This software is nice because it helps with organizing the APIs we need. The Azure portal is easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
