## About APM
APM monitors performance, stability & security of networks, servers, platforms and cloud resources. Monitoring methods: agent based, SNMP, HTTP check, API calls. Visualisations of object status in so called Maps (user created). Built-in vulnerability scanner using OpenVAS with the Greenbone Enterprise Feed, risk reports per environment. Asset information (e.g. installed software per server). Configuration back-ups for network devices. Built-in report engine for standard and custom reports.

It reduces the cost for maintenance, it helps you to plan maintenance works more efficiently.

Able to find really critical bottlenecks in code with minimal time spent.

**What do you dislike about APM?**

Continuous profiler takes some learning to get the best value.

**What do you like best about APM?**

There are currenty multiple APMs in the market today and the leading of them is the Dynatrace, I personally used Dynatrace and it helps you identification of the anomalies within our critical applications and workloads hence ensuriung complete uptime of the system. All the APMs tools out there in the market are pretty good and it depends on the choice and the acceptance criteria.

**What do you dislike about APM?**

The dislikes are the below - Paid APM tools comes with additional cost and there are sometimes many integration that is not supported with the APM vendors. As a result of which, that particular product or service can not be monitored and traced with the help of the APM tools.

**What problems is APM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. 360 visibility to the workloads 
2. Monitor the critical apps and alerts in case of SLA breach 
3. Integrate with services to provide metrics and logs for analysis.

**What do you like best about APM?**

The best thing is the wide range of monitoring solutions including on-premises virtualization to the public cloud. The Status indicators work too well to indicate the server's health and utilization charts.

**What do you dislike about APM?**

There are no such cons for public cloud monitoring solutions.

**What problems is APM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Public clouds provide the monitoring services in the cloud itself but if we want deep insights into the resources/ workload functioning then APM is the best choice. It provides robust charts and utilization visuals.
