What is most helpful is I can adjust, change, and refine my buildings. I can adjust hours of operation, room configurations, and upload diagrams needed for set-up. The least helpful is some events not showing up in my notifications even though they fall into my notification perimeters and setting up new users has become complicated. We use Accruent EMS to schedule our classrooms per semester and all other spaces for meeting both internally and externally. It gives me the flexibility to see internal requests immediately and assess room availability quickly when an external request comes in. I like Accruent EMS for its ability to let internal users request rooms and our staff to approve them without needing to manually input data. It simplifies the process of admin work for conference and events groups by ensuring no overlap of spaces and that all correct approvals have been completed. It would be great to modernize the graphics, while keeping them simple, and to allow for more drag and drop options. I use Accruent EMS for scheduling all of the buildings on our college campus, and it makes it easy for campus partners to collaborate and see the events occurring across campus, their needs, and the availability in general. I like how easy it is to use the desktop application; everything is right there in front of you in an easy-to-access platform. There are a lot of idiosyncrasies with EMS. For example, having to repeatedly reset window coordinates to ensure functionality, the search function needs ultra-specific terms, and certain functionalities (such as sequencing) don't actually appear to do anything. Training guides can help some, but there are a lot of questions that our team has about configuration that are not easily answered because of how our team utilizes EMS. This, in theory, will help us stop resetting window coordinates, as well as not being able to click out of windows to double check information that we need to process requests. I also appreciate the thought that was put into the look of the system. We occasionally send screenshots of things out of EMS, and we are told that the system looks like it belongs in Windows 98, so these new appearances will make our team look more credible.
