He always attends the calls, is on time, is well prepared, and the time is always valuable. We find the learner side of the system very easy to use, although the admin experience is not nearly as intuitive. We implemented Absorb 12 years ago, and find that switching to a different LMS would be challenging since we've become very familiar with the system, and have a lot of content there. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** The admin experience and reviewer experience is not intuitive. The system is relatively intuitive. I have learned and mastered 3 different LMS and this was this easiest to learn. It's not perfect, but I am discovering more and more solutions for our needs. The customer service from my client specialist Greg Law is top notch! He is always readily available for any questions I may have and provides solutions as efficiently as possible. Being in Absorb most of every day, the ease of use and the feature provided make for work days without worry about the functionality of the system. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There are subtle things that I dislike. For example, when in the ILC Activity or sessions sections, if you need to look at different offerings you have to essentially start over. I wish there was a way to make it a bit more seamless to toggle between sessions. Also in the Manager Experience, I wish there was a way to export a spread sheet from the dashboard. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** My client specialist Greg Law made my job easier with educating me to the Manager Experience platform in Absorb. We can create an individualized experience by location/department and this allows us to tailor everyone's experience with the platform. Our L&D team can admin all of these changes and experiences because the UI is easy to use so we can make changes as soon as we need to. When we run into an issue or challenge, the online resources are easy to use and our service rep can be reached at almost any time to help us. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** This is a tough question because the platform overall is pretty great. I would say the biggest area that we were challenges was in setting up integrations with other applications. Absorb has all of the capabilities but offer little to no technical support on creating the integration call to other applications. This forces us to use our other applications technical support teams and that's to bad because honestly the service we receive from Absorb is pretty great and top notch. From a technical support side, if we can add a resource to have this API/SCIM/SFTP built out for us to connect to an HRIS/SSO/AD would be huge. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** So many problems solved. From customized experiences, gamification, the AI is powerful and user experience. Our content build time has been cut in half because of all the content provided and the AI Create tool. Managers have their own custom access to see their teams learning and is really easy to use. Experience, experience, experience. He has a quick response time and makes himself available for questions and our needs. The Manager Experience tool is great and I am surprised that after 5 or so years of having this tool we never utilized it. I also appreciate the education and ongoing webinars provided to us. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** I'd like to see more innovation in the area of survey and data collection from the surveys. It's been frustrating to get data driven insights about participant satisfaction and impact. Since I've joined the team we've been utilizing surveymonkey in its stead. Although Manager Experience Tool is promising, it would also be nice to download specific data from it via spreadsheet. Custom reports is also something our team have been interested in developing for our leaders. It would also be great if there was a cohort of LMS Administrators that could get together and share best practices of how they've leveraging the system, troubleshoot, etc. It feels like a very isolating experience for a LMS Specialist to get onboarded to the system. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having a place to house our courses, check attendance, etc. ### 10. There is so much that you can do with this platform - from the reporting and analytics, to the course creation tool, the engagement toolset and the design. It really is a very powerful platform that perfectly meets our needs and never fails to impress. As someone who has never managed an LMS before, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is user-friendly and intuitive from both an admin and learner perspective. Whenever we give tours of our platform to partners or prospective partners, they are always blown away by the look and feel and the ease at which it can be managed. It is definitely helping us to win business and achieve company goals. Don't get me wrong - there's a lot going on with this platform and sometimes the answers to issues or questions aren't super obvious, but I find that it's a matter of just understanding how everything is working together to be able to troubleshoot. And thankfully, our client success manager, Greg Law, has been an excellent resource to helping us solve any questions that come up and learn how to effectively manage the platform as we move along. -- I'm coming back to add to this review months later and can still say that the above rings true - this is an extremely powerful platform that has only gotten easier to manage as time goes on and as I learn more about how everything is working. The support that our client success manager, Greg, has given throughout my experience has been invaluable and it's because of the work he has put in to our account that I feel as positively as I do. At so many different turns, he has been there to provide answers, troubleshoot and help me to think about the business long-term. I'm extremely grateful for his expertise and patience on a daily basis. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There isn't a lot that I dislike about Absorb. We did not have a great experience with our implementation PM but everyone else that we interacted with was super knowledgeable, responsive and patient with us and our millions of questions while we worked to understand whether it was the right solution for us, and from there, how to manage it. I will say that there have been some silly limitations to managing the platform. One of the issues we found early on was that the courses provided by Absorb in the Max content library did not automatically have languages designated to them, and in order for them to be searchable by language, you have to manually input this information. This is an issue if you're dealing with over 20,000 courses. We did eventually have the team at Absorb populate those languages for us, but it was tricky and outside of the team's usual work. I hope this is something they can solve in the future since it doesn't seem like something you should have to ask for! However, there was another issue that we had which had to do with being able to perform mass updates to the course library. For example, we wanted to be able to change the category of a large amount of courses at once. Unfortunately, you were required to make updates to the courses one-by-one. But soon after our implementation was finished, Absorb released an update allowing mass updates on multiple areas within the LMS. So, a pretty good end to an annoying functionality issue! -- I've had additional issues which all have to do with the need to perform mass edits. Recently, we have decided to whittle down our course offerings. Currently, we have over 20,000 courses available to learners. We need to remove all foreign language and other courses which are not relevant to our users and will hope to end with something more like 2,000 courses available. Unfortunately, there is no way to make mass deletions. So each day, I am spending much of my time manually deleting courses one by one which is not only a headache but a waste of my time. I am also performing mass edits to the availability rules attached to every course that is available and unfortunately, there is no option to select all and change things. As a warning to future admins: be very cautious when converting courses to be live on your LMS. It was not communicated to me by the Implementation PM when I was originally converting courses that I should set the department availability rule to "Include all Subdepartments" rather than "is Only," and I stupidly didn't think to do so. So, once we started building subdeparments for our partners, I discovered that none of the 20,000 courses I had originally manually converted were available to users assigned to subdepartments. This means that I now have to re-access all 20,000 courses and make these changes (which is a big reason for the mass deletions I previously described!) and delay work with partners because of this. The good news is that once completed, I should not have to worry about this again unless converting new content. However, it is a really poor use of my time day to day and I wish I knew this before all the work I already put in. I really hope that in the future Absorb considers making more mass edit functionality available to admins! **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our previous platform was created and managed by a third party. We had very little control over the platform, our content or the speed at which anything was accomplished. We were also stuck paying insane prices any time we wanted to make updates or add new courses. All of those issues together really held us back from achieving anything with our previous platform. We opted for Absorb because we needed to see a major change, and it has been one of the best decisions we made! We now have complete control of our future with this platform, and for a slice of the price we were stuck paying before. ### 11. Tracking records or documenting training was fragmented across multiple departments and were not consistent. Absorb allowed us to build a system that keeps track of all the records and automates much of the administration of required documentation. The interface for both front-end users and admins is user-friendly with good customisation options. The baseline package has effective reporting functionality which has been useful for managing compliance. The support staff, particularly our CRM Anup have been incredibly helpful, including assisting with initial training, upcoming features and optimising our internal initiatives. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There are occasionally features that would be nice to have that aren't possible, however it is easy enough to add this to their ideas portal for future releases. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are faced with a large network of learners who have different training needs based on their roles, whilst also having significant training needs to meet compliance requirements. Absorb allows us to create automatic enrollment rules, such that the system runs automatically for initial enrollments, only requiring manual intervention for bespoke training needs. ### 20. I also wish reporting would be more customizable. Overall we are happy with most of what the LMS provides us with in order to successfully host our users. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** We find that the base package can be quite limiting at times. The flexibility when it comes to the customization of admin and manager roles is quiet limited. Often times we are unable to restrict admin roles in particular ways to meet our needs. Instead we have to restrict access of these users completely. Furthermore, we have found that the reporting capabilities for admin and manager roles is also limited and does not allow for a wide range of customization. When we inquired regarding this we were informed that for extended reporting capabilities we would have to add another package onto our existing one. We feel the limitations of reporting were not initially communicated clearly to us and we were unaware this was apart of an add on package. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Absorb has made a number of updates recently that improved usability for us. One example is creating an option that allows you to restrict when users can unenroll from a Instructor Led Course. I do really like that you can publish content directly from Absorb Create into the LMS- it's super fast. The 'impersonate' icon is adorable and intuitive. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** Absorb Create is very limited. I had high hopes at first, but it's basically PowerPoint. Unlike Articulate Rise 360, it doesn't allow you to easily drop in interactions without complicated developing time. The way Articulate Rise has easy out-of-the-box interactions (clickable graphic, tabs, etc.) Absorb Create does NOT. They do have 'knowledge tips' you can click on to learn more details, but for some reason, they don't have a 'visited' state - so nobody knows which ones they've already looked at. The 'create with AI' tool doesn't yield usable results. The review process drives me (and all my stakeholders) crazy - you have to first designate each individual reviewer with Admin status in the LMS, THEN add them as reviewers in Create for your module. Then you have to hope and pray that Create auto-sends them an email with their unique review link. This is extremely annoying for many reasons - 1) nobody can see what the other reviewers wrote 2) there isn't a universal link I can share in a single-source-of-truth space (i.e. Slack or Confluence) that points people to review. This means I spend a ton of time individually troubleshooting with reviewers to find these isolated emails that they may or may not have received. Absorb Create also has a lot of bugs - for example, many of the standard authoring tools (i.e. Text Box creation) don't work properly unless you refresh the page constantly. The implementation experience in particular was well managed and definitely tailored to our requirements. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** It would be great to have better functionality between the authoring tool, Absorb Create and the mobile app. I know this is being developed at the moment but unfortunately not in time for us to take advantage of it. The support our team has received throughout the whole process of implementation and now has been top-notch. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There are some limitations with tracking calendar invites which have been frustrating, but most problems have a work-around solution. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is saving us a lot of time with the reporting features so we can quickly track progress of employees. We love that managers are also allowed to track progress (instead of having to reach out to our L&D team for a report). It is easy to use and understand for our employees, many of whom are not "tech saavy." ### 50.
