Snagit has dramatically transformed the way I work. Beyond being amazing for explanations and tutorials, it’s incredibly intuitive and useful for even the smallest everyday tasks. I use it constantly to capture screenshots, annotate, highlight, and crop information instead of having to remember details or go back and search through files. My biggest frustration is how Snagit manages saved captures. Images in the bottom capture tray seem to disappear over time, and captures don’t always get saved properly to my designated folder. I haven’t explored the settings in depth, so this might be something I can fix, but losing a screenshot I want to find a year later is incredibly frustrating. Personally, I’d much rather have all my captures permanently stored on my computer, even if it means using more disk space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While there are many ways to take screenshots or record how to videos, Snagit is my favourite solution. From delayed screenshots to recording videos demonstrating technical information, Snagit makes the job easy and professional. Snagit performs well even on machines will lower specifications and the price is reasonable given it is packed full of features. Snagit is incredibly easy to use, and the quality of the screenshots and video captures I get means I spend far less time editing afterward. For how inexpensive it is, it’s a no-brainer. I work in SaaS and use it every single day—whether I’m creating product images for a Help Center article, making GIFs for a product tour or marketing email, putting together graphics for a presentation deck, or simply recording my screen to show something to a colleague quickly and easily. My only dislike is the formatting of the Step Capture. I wish it was easier to tailor to my needs so I could more quickly generate Help Center articles by clicking through a software product. It would be insanely helpful, even if I could just train it to format the end product more closely to what I need and make it something I could copy and paste into another place while keeping the images. What I like best about Snagit is how easy it makes it to capture and explain things visually. I can take a screenshot, highlight the important details, and add notes or arrows to make my point clear without writing a lengthy explanation. It’s especially helpful for creating instructions, documenting processes, and putting together presentation materials. I really appreciate having the capture and editing tools in one place. I love the ease of use with Snagit. Easy to quickly snap a picture or record my screen for efficient training. The performance of the app is always quick. While I don't use any integrations, I find a lot of value in being able to mark up a screenshot with exact comments, directions, and other items (like highlighting) to make a point. Onboarding was a breeze, too! Super easy to set up and get going. We use Snagit at my company a lot and have found it to be a great resource with excellent ROI for the price. Snagit is the best tool for screenshots, screen recording, and editing on my computers. I like how Snagit makes it fast and easy to capture just what I need without taking a full-screen screenshot. I can delay a screenshot to catch a pop-up, mark up the image with arrows or text, and send it right away. It’s easy to use and helps me quickly grab visuals from our data, Slack messages, or emails. I find it time-consuming to put screenshots together. I have to copy one picture into another, and the spacing doesn’t always work, leaving a gray area where the pictures don’t match. It would be helpful to have a simple place to pull in and arrange images with arrows. I’d also like more quick how-to videos or help while I’m using Snagit; I have trouble figuring out the gray-out issue when I add a screen shot into another screen shot. It would be great if I could use my PowerPoint template and profiles more easily. When I upgraded, I needed support to get the software and key set up, and the transition took a while. I’ve used Snagit for over 15 years, almost daily. It’s easy to use, and I prefer it over Snipping Tool. I like being able to capture scrolling windows and use the built-in features that free options don’t have. It’s affordable and worth the money to me. I can add arrows or notes to screenshots, which helps me point things out or explain things easily without going back and forth in a chat room. I also like the video editing and screen capture tools, including being able to cut out parts of a screen, remove confidential information, or snip sections from training videos. I like that Snagit is easy to use and versatile. It doesn’t interrupt my workflow or change the screen or material, and I haven’t found a situation where I couldn’t use it. I can capture information on my screen, whether it’s normal-sized or oversized, keep it securely, annotate it, and store it. Snagit makes it easy to comment on or archive things in their original or altered form. I no longer worry about being able to capture or archive important information wherever I find it, and I know I’ll have it forever. It’s also one of the easiest programs for me to set up and make functional.
