## Snagit Reviews
 ### 1. My "desert island" software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I am still a nearly daily user of Snagit, and still a fan. Will hopefully never have to let it go as one of my primary visual communication tools. They have rolled out some new features and updates that I like, such as improved scrolling captures.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I'd appreciate some better image manipulation tools such as color swapping or the ability to "clone" a nearby area to hide a cutout hole.

**Recommendations to others considering Snagit:**

It's not a professional design tool, so don't have the expectation that you're going to make graphics for professional use. It does a lot for a little workhorse tool, though, far beyond what most screen capture tools can do. It's the most used software on my system besides browser and comms software.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily I'm solving two challenges: communication and creative ideation. If I want to see how something would look, I can do it myself and I don't have to sit there with a graphic designer and work through my ideas - I can just do a quick mockup in a few minutes. And it's truly changed how I communicate technical issues with our teams, from simple typos to complex captures of flow experience.

 ### 2. Convenient Screenshot Editing for Documentation with a Friendly UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle.Bravo@allmar.com B. | ServiceDesk Analyst / IT Infra, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

You can do multiple screenshots but at the same time there are lots of tools such as highlighting and shaping it before trying to send or attach it to email or just chat. Snagit is a convenient tool where you can literally screenshot and edit at the same time. Pretty convenient especially when creating documentations. User interface is friendly as well. Price is pretty affordable and support is top notch.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit requires to be updated most of the time. When you use a lower version of Snagit especially when running latest Windows, you can notice the sluggish feel when using it, nonetheless its still the best capturing tool out there.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating IT Documentation is a hassle when just using a regular snapping tool. Snagit is a all in one tool where you can edit capture right away and highlight the steps. Pretty convenient and cool if you ask me. I always use Snagit all the time even when I'm not doing documentation. It also has a specific folder where it saves everything in case you want to check what you screenshot previously.

 ### 3. Robust Screen Capture and Quick Annotation for Efficient Visual Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ingrid C. | Implementation Manager, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is a robust screen capture and lightweight editing tool designed for efficient visual communication. It supports static screenshots, scrolling capture, and short video recordings with minimal performance overhead. Capture profiles and hotkeys allow for fast, repeatable workflows.

The editor includes essential annotation tools such as callouts, arrows, step labels, blur/obfuscation, and templates, enabling rapid creation of technical documentation and support artifacts. Asset management and export options support multiple formats, making it easy to integrate outputs into tickets, documentation, and knowledge bases.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

While Snagit is powerful for basic capture and annotation, it has some limitations. Performance can slow when working with large or multiple captures, and video editing capabilities are fairly basic compared to dedicated video tools. The asset library can become cluttered over time, especially for users who capture content frequently, making organization more manual than desirable. Additionally, the licensing cost may feel high for users who only need occasional or simple capture functionality.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit benefits me by enabling faster and clearer communication through visual documentation. Being able to quickly capture screens, annotate steps, and highlight issues reduces back‑and‑forth explanations and saves time when creating support tickets, training materials, or process documentation. This improves accuracy, minimizes misunderstandings, and increases overall productivity, even when used alongside other specialized tools.

 ### 4. Right amount of POWERFUL software that is easy to use and always meets our needs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryce V. | Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It has all the typical tools, and has some that are not typical. For instance the cut out tool allows you to make very fast adjustments that fit most use case requirements. Everything is simple and easy to follow while providing high quality output in all formats you will require. For me and our team, the ROI is excellent and the performance of the software always excels.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

For my work and our team's requirements, there is nothing that we dislike. We would appreciate seeing some more templates and "Stamps" added throughout the year after a new software release - not because we NEED them but because we like the offerings!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast, easy and great quality edits to screen captures that allows us to finish up quickly. In most cases one or two tools does everything we want. If we need to go further, Snagit offers the tools for those times as well.

 ### 5. Simple, Reliable Annotation and Screen Recording Tool for Life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nithya S. | QA Copilot, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Simple to use and comes with all the necessary tools for annotation. I bought it once and using it for my lifetime. Recording my screen and taking screenshots are both very easy, and they’ve always been reliable for me. It’s also very good at identifying apps like my browser or any other window, and it automatically selects the right area.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Honestly, there isn’t much else to add. One thing I do want to point out is that if you buy a license, it applies only to that specific version. You can’t update to the latest version without purchasing a new license. That said, I’m perfectly fine with the version I bought, so I’ve never felt the need to upgrade.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a QA Engineer, I often need to capture screenshots or record video. Snagit helps me take screenshots, annotate them, and clearly point out what the bug is about. The video feature also includes an option to record both system video and microphone audio. After capturing a screenshot or video, I attach it to my bug report to provide more detail about the issue.

 ### 6. Simple One-Click Snips and Video Recording with Easy Notes and Editing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay W. | Bulk Gas Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It’s simple to use—I love the ability to take a snippet of something or record a video. Both are as simple as pushing a button. It’s also very easy to add notes and point out certain things, and the editing is super easy. The drag and drop programming is super easy to work with

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It’s not that I dislike this feature, but I think it could be improved by making it easier to delete old snippets. For example, having a quicker way to remove them by date or month would help, instead of only being able to delete everything at once or one by one.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, I always used the Snipping Tool, and it wasn’t always the most user-friendly when it came to editing. I also couldn’t easily switch between recording a video and taking snags with the push of a button. Now I can easily go back to older snags unless I delete them.

 ### 7. My Go-To Tool for Screenshots, Annotations, and Quick Recordings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerrid C. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quickly I can capture, edit, and share visual information without breaking my workflow. I use it daily in my consulting work for screenshots, annotated images, documentation, training materials, client communication, and quick screen recordings. The biggest value for me is that it lets me go from idea or issue to a polished visual explanation in just a few minutes.

The UI is one of its strongest points. It’s intuitive enough that I rarely have to think about where tools are or how to accomplish something, which matters a lot when I’m moving quickly between client work and internal deliverables. At the same time, the editing tools are much more capable than what you get with built-in screenshot utilities. I can add callouts, annotations, highlights, and other visual cues fast, without needing a more complex design tool.

I also like that it supports screen recording in addition to static screenshots, which makes it more versatile for walkthroughs and training content. The integration with Camtasia is another plus, since it makes it easier to move from quick captures into more polished video content when needed.

One of the biggest workflow improvements for me is simply speed and clarity. Compared with using basic screenshot tools or something limited like Paint, Snagit helps me create clearer explanations faster, which reduces back-and-forth and makes it easier to communicate issues, instructions, or ideas to clients.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

What I dislike most about Snagit is the pricing, especially now that it is subscription-based. As a solo consultant, I pay close attention to software costs, and while I use Snagit enough to justify it, the price feels a little high compared with how focused the product is. For someone who only needs occasional screenshots or very basic annotation, it may be harder to justify versus built-in tools or lower-cost alternatives.

I have also run into performance issues from time to time. Most of the time, it works well, but there are moments when it feels slower than it should, which can be frustrating when I am using it frequently throughout the day. Because one of Snagit’s biggest strengths is speed, any slowdown stands out more.

That said, these drawbacks have not outweighed the value for me. I continue to use it daily because the workflow is strong and the editing tools are much better than simpler screenshot utilities, but pricing and occasional performance hiccups are the main tradeoffs in my experience.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me solve a communication problem more than anything else. In my consulting work, I often need to explain product ideas, document workflows, point out issues, or give feedback to clients quickly and clearly. Text alone is often not enough, and basic screenshot tools do not provide the editing and annotation capabilities I need. Snagit makes it easy to capture exactly what I want, mark it up, and share it in a way that is immediately understandable.

The biggest benefit is speed. It has helped me create documentation faster, produce quick training materials more efficiently, and communicate issues or recommendations to clients with much less back-and-forth. I also use it for screen recordings, which makes it easier to walk someone through a process instead of writing a long explanation.

From a workflow perspective, Snagit improves both clarity and responsiveness. I can turn a question, bug, or idea into a visual explanation in just a few minutes, which helps me move client work forward faster and makes my communication more effective overall.

 ### 8. Snagit Makes Process Documentation and Screenshots Effortless!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittany S. | Senior Technical Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is a WONDERFUL product. It's easy to use and has a great variety of tools and options. I spend a good amount of time documenting process and taking screenshots in my role. Snagit makes this super easy.

The system respond quickly. I've never had issues with lag or response time. It's easy to find help and tips when I want to learn something new, and tips for easier usage are available all the time! The pricing is great and absolutely worth the product.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes I have trouble finding the options I'm looking to toggle on or off without using the Help feature. But the Help feature is detailed and thorough. So my complaint is not that I can't find something or make changes to my preferences, but more that it can take some digging to find what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documenting step-by-step processes! I often provide both internal and external clients with documentation. I couldn't do it without Snagit. I've tried other products that just don't offer the variety Snagit does. Snagit is a HUGE time saver and gets the screenshots and instructions I need done quickly and looking fantastic!

 ### 9. Snagit Makes Capturing, Annotating, and Sharing Visual Guides Fast and Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reneisha H. | Clinical Program Manager, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quickly it lets me capture, edit, and share information without breaking my workflow. I use it to take screenshots, annotate key details, and create quick visual guides, which is especially helpful when communicating processes or troubleshooting issues. The editing tools are intuitive, and I like being able to add arrows, text, and highlights to make things clear for others. It saves me time compared to typing out long explanations and helps keep communication more efficient and organized.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One downside is that Snagit can feel a bit heavy when running alongside multiple applications, and there are moments where it takes a second to respond, which can interrupt workflow. The interface is generally user-friendly, but some tools require a few extra clicks to access, so streamlining navigation would improve efficiency. While it integrates well with other tools and is easy to get started with, enhancing performance and simplifying certain features would make the overall experience smoother. From a value standpoint, it’s useful for saving time, but improving speed and responsiveness would make it even more worthwhile.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps solve the challenge of clearly communicating processes and troubleshooting issues without relying on long written explanations. Instead, I can quickly capture screenshots, annotate key details, and share visual instructions, which improves clarity and reduces back-and-forth. The interface is easy to use, so there’s little learning curve, and it integrates smoothly with the tools I use daily. Performance is generally reliable, allowing me to work efficiently without major delays. Features like text capture and smart (AI) editing tools also help streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. From a value standpoint, it saves time throughout the day and improves overall productivity, making it a worthwhile investment. Overall, it’s a practical tool that supports efficient communication and onboarding.

 ### 10. A Game Changer for SOPs and Construction Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica M. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit has been a game changer for how I document and communicate, especially in the construction industry. It’s made creating SOPs incredibly efficient. Being able to quickly capture screenshots, mark them up, and clearly show each step has taken a lot of the guesswork out of training and documentation. Instead of long written explanations, I can provide visuals that actually make sense in the field.
It’s also been really helpful for emails. I can quickly grab a screenshot, highlight exactly what I’m referring to, and send clear, direct communication to team members, subcontractors, or clients. It cuts down on back-and-forth and helps avoid misunderstandings.
Overall, Snagit has improved both the clarity and speed of communication across projects, and it’s become a tool I rely on daily.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Honestly, I haven’t found anything I don’t like about Snagit so far. It’s been incredibly helpful for creating SOPs and improving communication, and everything I’ve needed it for has worked smoothly. At this point, I don’t have any complaints.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is solving a big communication gap for me, especially in the construction industry where things are fast-moving and often unclear when explained only in text.

Before, creating SOPs or explaining processes took a lot of time and still left room for confusion. Now I can capture exactly what I’m seeing, mark it up, and walk someone through a process visually. That’s made SOPs much clearer, easier to follow, and faster to create.

It’s also solving the issue of miscommunication in emails. Instead of going back and forth trying to explain something, I can send a screenshot with highlights or notes. People understand right away, which saves time and reduces mistakes.

Overall, it’s benefiting me by improving clarity, speeding up communication, reducing errors, and making documentation much more effective and scalable across projects and teams.

 ### 11. Snagit Makes Screen Recording and Screenshot Editing Fast and Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charan Raj Y. | QA Automation Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is one of the best tools for screen recording. I can record meetings and important work, capture screenshots quickly, and then edit those screenshots right away. It’s also easy to share recordings with anyone via email or save them as files. I like that I can preview what I recorded, and everything I create in Snagit stays visible in the Library section.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There’s nothing I would say I dislike, but one area for improvement is when I’m using two screens and recording on one of them. If the screen being recorded is switched off or gets disconnected for some reason, then all the recordings get cancelled. Instead, whatever has already been recorded up to that point should still be saved, so the work done isn’t lost.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Experian the Snagit mainly helps me solve a lot of my meeting problems. I often speak with multiple clients across different regions of the world, like the US, UK, Brazile, Monaco, Columbia, etc. During meetings, some clients’ slang can be difficult for me to understand, so I record the conversation and listen again afterward to get more clarity on what was discussed. Also, if someone asks me to share an issue quickly, I use the screenshot option.

 ### 12. Easy-to-Use Screenshot Tool with Smooth Scrolling Capture and Great Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is easy to use, has many tools to create and edit screenshots and integrates with the other Camtasia tools. I like how you can start a capture and then scroll on the screen and it captures everything that was scrolled. It is updated regularly to add new features. It performs well. I've never had any slowness or pauses. The pricing is good. I haven't needed support often but when I did, they were quick to respond and very helpful. The tutorials and training are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There isn't anything I don't like about SnagIt. I use it multiple times almost everyday.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use it for quick screenshots. Those can be so I can remember details of some specific screen or to create training materials for clients. Being able to edit the screenshot directly within SnagIt is very helpful.

 ### 13. Indispensable for Documentation with Minor Timing improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre E. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I rely on tools that are both powerful and dependable, and Snagit consistently exceeds expectations. I use Snagit daily for screen and video captures, data extractions, and creating clear, professional illustrations for documentation. It plays an essential role in my work on operations manuals, standards operating procedures, and technical guides, allowing me to communicate complex information with precision and clarity. Its ease of use, consistent and well-organized user interface, combined with robust functionality, make it an indispensable part of my toolkit. The initial setup was easy and straightforward, and I installed it everywhere I work. I also appreciate how it integrates with other tools like Camtasia. The fact that it's a standard tool for my contracts within and outside the Canadian Government speaks to its reliability.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I wish that Snagit would allow me to time my recording independently. In other words, I can set when to start and when to stop. I have been asking this for many years.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit daily for screen and video captures, data extractions, and creating clear illustrations for documentation. It’s essential for operations manuals and technical guides, communicating information with clarity. Its ease of use and organized interface make it indispensable.

 ### 14. Snagit Makes Screen Capture and Visual Communication Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prashant D. | Principal Cybersecurity Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit makes screen capture and visual communication incredibly simple and intuitive, with a minimal learning curve that helps anyone start creating right away. Setup only takes minutes, and customer support is strengthened by extensive tutorials along with responsive, helpful assistance when you need it. For many people, it quickly becomes a daily essential—used constantly for IT support, creating tutorials, and collaborating with a team. The feature set is impressively deep, including scrolling captures, video recording, OCR text extraction, AI-powered editing tools like Simplify and Smart Move, and a built-in library that keeps everything organized. It also integrates smoothly with Slack, Teams, Google Drive, and other productivity tools, so sharing what you’ve captured is always just a click away.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Although I like almost everything about Snagit, I sometimes feel awkward when hotkeys fail, and the editor can freeze with larger files, which occasionally disrupts my workflow. Even though it’s feature-rich, some of the more powerful tools—like OCR and Simplify feel buried in the interface rather than being intuitive to find and use.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit has transformed how we support clients and document solutions. Tickets get resolved faster because users can show us issues visually, and we can respond with clear, annotated examples. We also create professional guides and training videos in minutes, which helps cut down on repeat questions. Our internal documentation stays consistent, easy to search, and simple to reuse across the team. Clients trust us more when we can provide visual proof that the work was completed as promised. Overall, it’s an efficiency tool we rely on every day.

 ### 15. Snagit: Powerful, Easy Screen Capture with Great Editing Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** pjslaughter2025@gmail.com S. | NA, since I am no longer with the organization. I was, in various roles at various times, a risk management and governance specialist and technical writer., Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is the easiest to use, most powerful, best documented and most economical capture program I have found. It captures everything from a small area of a screen to a full or scrolling screen or short video. It can even capture steps of a process as you execute it and assemble the steps into a quick guide with numbered and captioned steps. There are plenty of tools to edit and enhance the captures. It is a dream for technical writers or anyone who needs to produce job aids. It is available on both Windows and Mac.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It has a lot of features, and sometimes the on-screen instructions - though complete - are sparse. There are plenty of highly useful tutorials and training videos available on the TechSmith site to fill the gaps.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it every day for everything. As a technical writer, I always need to capture screens, capture error messages, redact information, highlight sections of an image. Recently I needed to provide evidence of a purchase, but the image was in an old PDF and printed across two pages. Snagit made it possible to capture both pieces of the image and stitch it together so it was readable.

 ### 16. Does it get any better!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Collin W. | Systems Reliability Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Previous Response: The simplicity! I say that because, indeed, when you need to capture an image from the screen, it really is as simple as it can get. Hit the hot key or click on the status bar icon and start a capture. Select the region you want and Bob's your mum's brother. Need to capture a section larger than the screen, requiring a scroll down? No problem, switch the capture mode to Scrolling! That said, if you need more complicated capture features, oh my word! Snagit has them all! Money well spent, I tell you, I use it all day, every day, and my instruction pages in our Knowledge-base are the best ones in there, even if I do say so myself.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Previous Response: I can't seem to find a way to stop the 3 Second countdown when triggering Video capture. Very often, I realise that I'd like to capture the video at a critical moment. By the time I fire off the capture, select the region and hit record, the 3 seconds seem like an age. Of course it's useful when attempting to capture something I'm doing on the screen, but it would be nice is there was a setting I could change to set the lead-in.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find myself using it to create instructions, mostly. The jagged edge + shadow feature makes snapshots of pages where the reader doesn't need to see the whole page is simply fantastic.

 ### 17. SnagIT Helps Tell the Story

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick D. | Divisional Direct Marketing & e-Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

When a picture can't say it all, SnagIT provides a plethora of tools and functions to clarify your story through annotated visuals and instantly share on many popular platforms. I use it every day. The coolest feature is the library, where all your 'snagged' images live. This product rocks.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The program's capture widget that gets tucked away at the top of your screen for your next snag can get lost when you have several windows open. If you can remember Ctrl/Shift-x, you're good to go. This was a minor nuisance before learning this bring-to-focus key combination. I'm a fan.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Given I use Snagit on a regular basis, it benefits every aspect of my job. Updating documentation, snapping images to provide a quick how-to doc or video for colleagues, or assembling disparate content to use for a later project. Honestly, I can go without my smartphone longer than I can without Snagit -- no exaggeration!

 ### 18. Powerful Screen Capture with Seamless Editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** S S. | Instructional Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit for taking screenprints for content creation, and I find it very helpful to edit and capture the screenprints at the same time. I really like the feature that allows me to highlight or blur out parts of the screenprint, which is essential for my work in creating software simulations where we highlight tabs or buttons and hide sensitive data with the blur feature. Also, the initial setup of Snagit was very easy, and based on my experience, I'm definitely giving it a recommendation score of 10.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Scroll feature can be better. Sometimes when scrolling and taking screenprint the image gives a blank spaces.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for taking and editing screenprints, helping me highlight important parts and blur sensitive data effectively.

 ### 19. A Must-Have Tool for Efficient Documentation and Screen Capture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley H. | Senior Product Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit daily for documentation, creating quick how‑to guides, capturing screenshots for clients, and recording videos that demonstrate bugs or workflows to development teams. One of my favorite features is the capture window and how customizable it is depending on what I need to show. The Text Grab tool is especially valuable—it saves me significant time when I need to extract text from software screens or PDFs where copying and pasting isn’t possible.
Snagit is extremely easy to implement; it installs quickly, and the interface is intuitive even for new users. I’ve been using it for several years across different roles and companies, and it has consistently fit into my workflow without any issues. Any time I want to learn a new feature, the built-in tutorials and support documentation make the process very straightforward. Overall, Snagit is one of the few tools I recommend without hesitation—it’s genuinely a 10/10 for productivity, reliability, and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Honestly, I don’t have any major dislikes. The tool performs exactly as expected, and updates have consistently improved functionality without disrupting workflow. If anything, I sometimes wish there were even more editing features built directly into the app, but the existing feature set is more than sufficient for my needs.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps streamline communication between departments by allowing me to quickly create clear, visual explanations—whether it’s screenshots annotated with instructions, short videos that demonstrate system issues to developers, or documentation for end users.
The biggest benefit is efficiency. Instead of typing long explanations, I can capture a quick video or image and share it instantly. The Text Grab feature also reduces manual typing when dealing with systems that don’t allow text selection, which saves a surprising amount of time over the course of a week. Overall, Snagit reduces misunderstandings, accelerates troubleshooting, and significantly improves the quality of the documentation I produce.

 ### 20. Essential Tool for Efficient Guide Creation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassi L. | Nursing Informatics Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I like the blur feature to cover up PHI. I like the step capture because that's usually what I'm trying to convey, like 1st do this then do that. The Cut Out feature is something I have not found in other image software. Instead of cropping off something from the edge, you can cut something out in the middle of an image, which is great. The blur is a required and invaluable tool because I'm working in our live EHR and keeping PHI blocked for our how-to guides is necessary for HIPAA. The initial setup of Snagit was easy; there was no real setup necessary, it was just ready to go.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I wish the blur tool had some AI in it and would learn what I blur out of every image because the Smart Redact only has the option to blur Addresses, Credit Card Numbers, Dates, Email Addresses, Faces, IP Addresses, Phone numbers, Social Security Numbers, & URLs. But what I need to blur is patient names, date of birth, visit/account number, medical record number so it would be great if I could customize the Smart Redact or if it could learn what I am always blurring.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit lets me create how-to guides easily by taking screenshots, saving me from repeating email instructions. Its blur feature is crucial for protecting PHI in EHRs, and step capture conveys processes clearly. The Cut Out feature is unique, offering more flexibility than cropping.

 ### 21. Snagit Makes Screenshot Editing and Callouts Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhanashree S. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I can edit the screenshots I take and add customized call-outs before sending them to anyone. I can also highlight a specific statement or piece of text. Snag it also includes templates I can use to compare two screenshots, or even several screenshots taken.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There are no real downsides to Snagit. If I had to point out one issue, it would be the quality of some screenshots. When I capture an image to add to a PowerPoint document, the quality of a figure or table isn’t always as high as I’d like.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snag it solves a major problem for me: being able to take a screenshot and easily edit it afterward.

 ### 22. Effortless Screen Captures with Time-Saving Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenichi K. | Principal Engineer | Aerospace Systems & Test Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit mostly for screen captioning. I find it valuable because I can quickly capture the screen whenever I want and then edit in the Snagit editor for presentation and other uses. I like the quickness and easiness of usage. I also enjoy that Snagit captures all the captions automatically in a dedicated folder, which eliminates the time needed for saving the file. I've been using it for over 5 years because it is a very useful and powerful tool for my work, and found the initial setup very easy.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I'm not sure if it already has it, but auto copy of previous function for eliminating redundant work would be helpful. Like I tend to delete the background to paste into PowerPoint, so if that function is there, then it would make my work a bit easier. It would save my time for selecting fill function and clicking on the background to eliminate white or other color background.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to quickly capture and edit screen content for presentations. It saves time by storing captures automatically, eliminating manual saves, and simplifies my work with its quick and easy-to-use interface.

 ### 23. Snagit: Easy Screenshots, Markups, and Powerful Training Recordings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gretchen C. | Assistant Director, Gift Processing and Data Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is easy to use and much better than a snipping tool. You can use it for simple screen shots and to mark up screen shots to help viewers understand the screen shots. Snagit can also be used as a training tool, taping your movements on screen and using your audio to teach!

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I suppose if your company didn't have access to it then it would be unfortunate. There is a slight learning curve to using the tool.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me to quickly get screenshots to our IT and to co-workers that help explain any issues/errors or information I need to get across.

 ### 24. Snagit: Your Go-To for Quality Screen Captures

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I find Snagit to be versatile, using it for everything from building training to reviewing processes. It delivers better-quality, faster screen captures than any other tool I've tried. I love that it's lightweight and doesn't hog system resources. The tool is easy to use and quick to install, making editing images and videos simple. I rely on Snagit for screen capture, edits, video capture, software process documentation, and error reporting for IT tickets. I'm really fond of using Snagit daily, as it's hard to find any issues with it. I also appreciate how easy the initial setup was.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit could add additional video editing capabilities. Snagit could improve visibility of the processes it runs, there are some background processes that IT software sometimes flags as concerning.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for screen capture, process documentation, and error reporting. It provides a better-quality and faster screen capture while being lightweight and easy to use, making image and video edits simple.

 ### 25. Snagit: A Simple Way to Work Smarter

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahdi S. | Senior Manager Information Technology Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is extremely efficient for capturing and annotating screenshots and videos. The editing tools are intuitive, fast, and well-designed for professional documentation—especially for tutorials, SOPs, and internal communication. The ability to quickly add callouts, blur sensitive data, and export in multiple formats saves a lot of time. Overall, it significantly improves productivity for anyone working with visual content regularly.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The main downsides are performance and usability at scale. Snagit can feel heavy, especially with large captures or frequent edits. The editor UI, while feature-rich, becomes cluttered and slows down workflows for simple tasks. Collaboration and sharing options are limited compared to more modern tools, and versioning is basic. Pricing also feels high given that many core features exist in lighter or bundled alternatives.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps streamline documentation and communication by making it easy to capture, annotate, and share visual information. It reduces back-and-forth emails and misunderstandings, especially when explaining processes or issues. For me, it improves efficiency in creating guides, reporting bugs, and aligning stakeholders quickly, saving time and increasing clarity across teams.

 ### 26. Efficient All-in-One Tool with Potential for Enhanced Video Editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alisha U. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love how easy Snagit is to use while offering powerful editing features. The ability to quickly capture exactly what I need and immediately add annotations like arrows, text, and highlights really stands out. I appreciate the all-in-one functionality, being able to take screenshots, record videos, and edit everything in one place, which saves a lot of time. It adds value to my work by eliminating the need to switch between multiple tools and keeps my workflow simple and organized. Overall, Snagit makes creating clear, professional-looking visuals simple and efficient. I found the initial setup very easy and enjoy using it alongside tools like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and email to share and document information more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

While Snagit is very useful overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. Sometimes the program can feel a bit slow or laggy, especially when working with larger images or longer video recordings. The video editing features are helpful but somewhat limited compared to more advanced tools, so more flexibility in editing would be a great addition.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to capture screenshots and record my screen, which helps me create guides and tutorials. Its all-in-one functionality eliminates the need for multiple tools, saving time and simplifying my workflow.

 ### 27. Versatile Screenshot Tool with Tons of Capture Options

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tracy A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It has a wide range of options that you can do with your screenshot. It also has the best option for you if you need a different set of types of screenshots often. For example, if you need scrolling, region, or a quick video recording, or something like that, or a screenshot that needs to be numbered, definitely the best option's all around. It is straightforward to install. Customer support is there, and they have numerous types of tutorials available on their website. I use this program almost daily, numerous times a day. The Windows version does seem to have a lot more options, or at least easier to find. I use this program with all my stuff, and it's pretty straight-forward to use. It does not integrate into other programs. It's kind of more of a stand-alone, but it does mesh well with its sister programs from the same company.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It can be a little bit of a learning curve, and it's not always easy to copy-paste a screenshot that you've just taken. You need to go through a couple of steps in order to pull your screenshot to share right away. There are many options to share from one app to another, but if you need to take your screenshot and convert it to a JPG or a PNG, it does take 2-3 clicks. The other downside is that you can't use Snagit on mobile, or transfer files, or have your collection of files between devices.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I take a lot of screenshots on a daily basis for numerous things, both work and content creation. One thing is that all of my screenshots are in one spot that I can locate and find. They're also saved in a proprietary profile file type, but it still gives me the wiggle room to create the file into many different types of files when I need it. So, I don't always need a file to be a GIF or a JPEG, but it doesn't matter because I saved it in Snagit, and then whenever I need a specific file type of a screenshot, I can convert it right away. The other thing is that it allows me to quickly add text to a screenshot and I can save it that way or I can copy it. And I can edit that text or that shape or that step number, and I don't have to worry about making a permanent change to an item. I can always move those elements in the screenshot.

 ### 28. Amazing tool! easy to use , edit and share screenshots and videos with customers and colleagues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

easy ability to edit videos!
I don't know if it's new but I've never used it before- such a game changer!

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

sometimes there is a bit of a lag, not sure if it's due to snagit or my general pc

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping provide easy guidance by specifying exactly what needs to be done, and showing how things look in a quick and convenient way. Great, great tool! It’s easy to capture and edit visuals—whether that’s detailed screenshots or demo videos. For me, this tool is a one-stop shop for both capturing and editing.

 ### 29. Easy Image Editing and Awesome Screen Recording for Fast Workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

ease of use, how simple it is to do image modification/edits, the video/screen recording capabilities are awesome for sending a quick video. It's clutch for editing images and pulling them right into my other workflows in Articulate Rise, or anything else I need images for.

It's very quick, performs when it needs to, and rarely crashes on me.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I would like a few more editing tools, to be honest. It does most of what I need, but it's pretty skin-deep. I'd like to be able to have a little more power for deeper edits. But honestly overall, it does what I need!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't even remember what I used before Snagit. I've been using it for over 10 years! So again, for the quick capture of a screen, specific portion, video grab - it's huge. I build Education content, so having these functionalities at my fingertips makes like easier.

 ### 30. Intuitive Screenshot Tool with Robust Annotation Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Surabhi N. | Curriculum Manager, Computer Networking, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit to capture screenshots and short screen recordings and annotate them. I like how Snagit makes it quick and easy to capture and annotate screenshots or short screen recordings. I also appreciate how intuitive and reliable Snagit is. The features like scrolling capture, easy cloud sharing, and seamless integration with other tools make it especially effective for creating and sharing visual explanations quickly. The initial setup was very easy. Installation was straightforward, and I was able to start capturing and annotating screens almost immediately without any additional configuration or learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes the number of capture and editing options can feel a bit overwhelming for quick tasks. I also find that managing and organizing older captures could be improved, especially when working across multiple projects.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit solves the problem of explaining things only with text. It lets me capture screenshots or recordings, annotate them, and visually convey processes or feedback, saving time, reducing misunderstandings, and enhancing documentation and communication.

 ### 31. Snagit Boosts Productivity with Efficient Hotkeys

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy B. | Associate Product Commercialization Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love Snagit for quickly capturing on screen content to share information with colleagues. I appreciate how it allows me to easily gather captures to create step-by-step illustrated directions, provide mark-ups for feedback, and create quick screen recordings. I particularly like the setup of hotkeys that enable me to open the application and begin a screen capture or recording with a single key press, keeping my workflow as efficient as possible. The ability to set my preferred hotkeys and quick actions keeps my productivity high, as I can quickly send captures to the editor for mark-up or to other applications. The initial setup of Snagit was very easy as well. I've recommended it to many others since I started using it over 10 years ago.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Their built-in templates and the stamps tool are not useful for me and the work that I do. However, I can see how they may be helpful features for other users.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to quickly capture screenshots and screen recordings, share information with colleagues, and maintain efficient workflow with hotkeys for immediate access and quick actions.

 ### 32. Essential Tool for Daily Business Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike W. | QA/RA Team Lead, Medical Devices, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I find the Snagit interface pretty incredible. It allows me to take video screenshots of a presentation that I'm watching and save it for later editing. I also really appreciate the ability to preview in the Snagit editor automatically. It integrates with almost every single tool I use for work like file explorer, Visio, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and my web browser, making it essential for me. The initial setup was extremely easy, definitely a 10 out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I can't think of anything that needs improvement. Maybe just the interface could be updated.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to communicate screen specifics across various platforms like emails and presentations. It solves my need for snapshots, allowing me to highlight elements with arrows during tool testing or development. It's essential for easily identifying broken areas of a page.

 ### 33. Easy to Use, with Great Documentation and Plenty of Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It’s easy to use, and the documentation and examples the company provides are great. Even if you prefer to work on your own, it’s still an intuitive program with plenty of options and features that you can easily incorporate into whatever you’re working on.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Previously, you could download a version of Snagit and use it for as long as you wanted. Now, the cloud-based version requires a subscription. Personally, I prefer downloading and using the software locally; however, the subscription does ensure that the most recent version is always available.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with a large group of faculty who often need guidance on how to complete a task across several different software programs. Snagit makes it easy and fast to highlight key areas in a screenshot or capture a process using video. As a result, I can respond to their questions more quickly and clearly.

 ### 34. Snagit Makes Screenshots and Screen Recording Fast, Simple, and Easy to Edit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit makes it easy to take screenshots and screen videos on my computer. The screenshots can be easily enhanced, edited and annotated with Snagit's editor. It's simple to use and takes screenshots quickly, no extra set ups. No extra cutting and pasting.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It seems like I could get by with paying with one version and using it several years without paying for an upgrade but now it seems like Snagit has moved to a yearly subscription model.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once Snag it is set up, I can take screenshots quickly. This comes in handy when I'm trying to remember information from webinars or courses. I can take screenshots on the fly and compile them into a resource document for later. This really helps make my note taking fast and more efficient and more organized than before using Snagit. I don't have to dig through a notepad for notes - I can just refer to a saved document later on.

 ### 35. Makes Clinic and Education Work Easier with Visual Clarity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishan S. | Manager and Dietician at Chaitanya Homoeo Clinic, Medical Store Owner, Content Creator, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I work as a Dietician and Nutritionist, manage a homeopathy clinic, and create health education content. In my daily work, I deal with diet charts, lab reports, and patient forms, and Snagit helps me explain these clearly using annotated screenshots. Instead of long explanations or repeated calls, I can simply mark important areas or instructions on an image, which saves time and avoids confusion.

Snagit is easy to use and quick to set up, so it fits smoothly into my daily workflow without any technical effort. I use it regularly during clinic work and while preparing educational content. The features are simple but sufficient for my needs, such as adding arrows, highlights, and notes. When I open a saved case image later, everything is already explained on the image, so I can understand the key points immediately. I also use Snagit occasionally for short screen recordings when teaching students online or explaining specific steps, which works well for quick explanations without creating full length videos.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There isn’t much to dislike about Snagit for my kind of work. Overall, it fits well into my daily routine. The only small issue I notice is that when I handle many screenshots, the library can feel a bit crowded and needs some time to organize. Also, for very quick captures, it can feel slightly slower than a basic screenshot shortcut. Apart from these minor points, it works smoothly and supports my work well.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit solves the problem of repeatedly explaining diet charts, reports, and instructions in my daily clinic work. By using annotated screenshots, I can explain things clearly in one go instead of multiple calls or messages.
This saves time, reduces confusion, and keeps my work organized. When I open a case image later, the important points are already marked, so I can understand everything quickly and work more efficiently.

 ### 36. Snagit: Excellent for Annotated Screenshots, Needs Easier Updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

I use Snagit mostly to take screen captures, and it's great for adding to documents or communicating with colleagues. I appreciate that Snagit not only captures the screen but also provides tools for annotating with arrows, highlights, or even doing some light photo editing. This feature is really helpful for visually pointing out specific details in screen images when I communicate with others.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I do not really miss any features. Just it needs some administration to update new versions of the app quite often and sometimes I have seen it fail to launch.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to take screen captures for documents and communication, with features to annotate and blur sensitive parts. It helps me visually highlight and point out areas in images that I want to discuss.

 ### 37. Feature-Rich for Editing, Performance Needs Tweaking

I appreciate Snagit's lot of editing features and the ability to stack all screens nicely. The editing tools like updating the canvas color, making cut-outs, and easy highlighting are great. I found the initial setup to be very easy, and using keyboard shortcuts makes for a seamless experience.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The performance when a large number of captures are involved can be improved. When I have more than 100 screens in 2-3 days, opening all together in one view takes a lot of time.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for taking screenshots and editing images, which solves the issue of limited features in free apps. It offers numerous editing features, easy highlighting, and lets me stack screens, making image creation for release notes and guides efficient.

 ### 39. Unreasonable & unthoughtful pricing has officially killed the rep of yet another software company

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel C. | Director of Product Marketing, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Great features that work well
1-time fee that lasts forever if you want it to
Well known company with commitment to excellence
It beats the competition every time.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

SnagIt is software that you install in your local environment, and as such, it used to cost a 1-time fee for purchasing the software + a guarantee of 1 major version update. Fast forward to today - I'm apparently now required to subscribe to SnagIt annually. Apparently, no one cares anymore about the diff between a local software installation that doesn't require a cloud connection (and so doesn't cost them a thing after I download and install) vs one that requires ongoing services. In any case, they've joined the sub trend and I've jumped ship.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating fast nd quality screenshots for any purpose
Creating easy gifs
Working with simple videos

 ### 40. Effortless Screenshots, Needs Better Video Editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda B. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit for grabbing screenshots and videos to share with my team and customers, which is super useful for our user guides. Snagit allows us to easily create images with consistent formatting. I like how easy it is to share format settings to maintain similar formatting hassle-free. The main tools I need are handy to access, making it simple to highlight portions of screenshots. The initial setup of Snagit was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I wish I could edit short-form videos in Snagit more easily. Snagit isn't intended for video editing, but I wish there was an ability to crop a video or change the size at least.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for grabbing screenshots and videos to share with my team and customers. It allows us to easily create images with the same formatting.

 ### 41. Snagit Makes Screenshots and Short Tutorials Effortless

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Instructional Design Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is very easy to use and generate screenshots, short video tutorials, and job aids to walk users through how to do something.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There isn't much that I dislike about the tool, to be honest.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is a big time saver for me. It speeds up the process of teaching students and others how to perform tasks online. It also integrates well with Camtasia, which is a tool I use a lot for video editing.

 ### 42. Fast and User-Friendly with Great Markup Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit for screenshots and quick instructional videos, and I find that it makes the process of sharing information super fast compared to writing it all out. I like the ease of use and the markup options, such as arrows, shapes, and highlights, which help me draw attention to critical areas of my screenshots. The initial setup was easy, which I appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The mic turns off on the video capture from time to time and I have to go into the settings to re-enable it. When I go in, it says it's enabled, but then works after I flip it off and on, so I assume it's some sort of small bug.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit makes it a super fast process to share info that I would otherwise have to write out.

 ### 43. Easy to Use, Feature-Rich Tool for Enriching notes and creating guides

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Easy to use and rich in features, it's easy to create a guide on the spot or provide or to highlight value-added information on the go.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I’ve found the performance to be inconsistent. At times it’s really slow to move forward, and the presets don’t work reliably. Another thing I don’t like is having to pay additional fees to get icons and similar extras. At this price, I believe those features should already be included. Given the overall value offered for such a high price, I don’t think an upsell is necessary.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily highlight screenshots, quickly hide sensitive information, and share everything without hassle. I also really value being able to indicate steps and create guides fast, since it helps me support colleagues more effectively.

 ### 44. Fast and Efficient for Screen Captures

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I really like how quick it is to capture content with Snagit. It's great being able to quickly add steps, arrows, blur, or callouts and still have it look professional and clean, without needing to mess with detailed photo editing tools or other software that take forever to open. It's a real time-saver, with a clean and useful interface that lets me easily mark things up and share them with colleagues. Also, the initial setup was super easy since it was preloaded, making it as simple as taking your first screenshot and editing.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I wish it had a little bit more ability to work with PDFs. And I wish the video editing had a little bit more actual markup capability.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for quick screen captures and markups. It offers an easy way to highlight specific areas with arrows or blur, making my screenshots look professional. It saves me time compared to tools like Bluebeam, allowing fast sharing and edits without complex photo editing tools.

 ### 45. SnagIt Works for Return-It!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bon M. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is easy to use to take pictures or videos of my screen whether it is part of my screen or the entire screen. I tend to use it every day. I never really had to call customer support as it is straightforward to use. There are probably more features that I have not used so I look forward to exploring them once I get the time.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sorry, cannot think of anything right now.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the saying goes, "A picture paints a thousand words." It is much much easier to convey instructions using screenshots and then creating videos for more complex instructions and tutorials. I could type up a long document explaining stuff and it still won't be as effective as pictures and videos.

 ### 46. Essential Daily Tool for Effortless Screenshots and Recordings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bakhtiyor D. | Testing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I bought a lifetime subscription in 2022, and since then, Snagit has become my daily companion for taking screenshots and recording videos. I really enjoy using it, and it helps me work more efficiently. The software is very easy to use, and while the editing tools are somewhat limited, they are still effective and quick. The quality of the saved files is good. I also find the audio input and output settings particularly useful, as they can be adjusted even after a recording has already started.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

After my first year of subscription, I was informed that future updates would no longer be saved on my device. Since receiving this notice, I have experienced some lags and glitches, particularly when recording. The app occasionally fails to record videos properly, and sometimes it only captures completely frozen frames. Usually, force quitting and restarting the app resolves the issue.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a convenient tool for quickly capturing and sharing screenshots and screen recordings, all without the need to save files directly to your device.

If possible then they can make less navigation step for some advance feature, otherwise overall it is god
