"Honeycomb Makes Observability Easy with Powerful Analytics and Clear Visualizations"
5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

Honeycomb stands out for its powerful observability features and overall ease of use. It enables quick investigation of performance issues, provides detailed visibility into system behavior, and helps teams identify root causes faster. With flexible analytics and clear visualizations, it becomes an invaluable tool for maintaining application health and improving operational efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

The biggest downside is the initial learning curve. New users may need some time to fully understand the platform’s advanced querying and observability features. In some cases, managing large volumes of telemetry data can also become costly. Still, the benefits—faster troubleshooting and deeper system insights—make it worthwhile overall. "Fast, Flexible Querying That Speeds Up Debugging"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

What stands out most is how fast and flexible querying is, even against high cardinality data we can slice and dice by any field (user ID, request ID, custom attributes) without needing to predefine dashboards or metrics ahead of time. This has made debugging production issues dramatically faster, since we can trace a single problematic request end-to-end instead of guessing from aggregated metrics. The BubbleUp feature is especially useful for quickly surfacing what's different about a slow or failing subset of requests compared to the rest of traffic. It's also made our on-call experience much less stressful, since we can investigate incidents in real time with actual context instead of jumping between multiple tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

The learning curve can be steep for teams new to observability-driven debugging, since it requires a shift in mindset from traditional dashboards and predefined metrics toward ad-hoc, high-cardinality querying. Instrumenting our codebase properly to get rich, structured events took real upfront effort, and getting the most value out of the platform depends heavily on how well events are tagged and enriched at the source. Pricing can also become a consideration as event volume grows, particularly for larger or high-traffic services. Additionally, some newer team members find the query interface less intuitive at first compared to more traditional metrics dashboards, so onboarding takes a bit of ramp-up time. "Honeycomb Makes High-Cardinality Queries and Microservice Debugging Effortless"
5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

Honeycomb makes it incredibly easy to query high-cardinality data and pinpoint production issues in seconds. The distributed tracing and intuitive UI completely change how we debug microservices. It has significantly reduced our MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution) and made observability a team sport rather than a chore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

The query language has a steep learning curve. It takes time for new teams to master. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Monitoring with Room for Pricing Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

I like Honeycomb's ease of use. It ties up different open telemetry and other tooling, making integration easier. They have integrations with other technologies, such as Enbridge for user or synthetic monitoring, which makes it easily expandable, especially with OpenTelemetry being universal. It's easy to port data in and out of Honeycomb. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

I would target first about pricing. Having a more friendlier pricing and, especially that OpenTelemetry is basically open source or free. So there should be some wiggle room or adaptability that we could leverage from Honeycomb and using other enterprise-grade monitoring kits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Honeycomb - See everything. Query anything. Fix it fast."
5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

Full OpenTelemetry support and powerful trace-to-metrics correlation is best done by Honeycomb. I am eager to explore Canvas and based on the o11yconf session I can definitely see it to bring a lot of value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

The learning curve can be real steep, but this is where I see Canvas may offer some relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Tool with Room for Documentation Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

I find Honeycomb particularly valuable for its ease of searching capabilities. Once familiar with the application, I can leverage its full potential and making my tasks much simpler and more efficient. The visual graphics are another aspect I truly enjoy; they are instrumental when I need to analyze maximum or average task completion times and assess potential delays in our services. The ease of initial setup was surprisingly convenient, simplifying my integration process with existing operations. Additionally, I appreciate the lower cost of Honeycomb compared to its competitors, making it a more budget-friendly option for our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

I find the documentation for Honeycomb not easy to use, which makes the learning process much longer than it should be. There's not much information readily available, so it requires a lot of self-learning. This can be quite challenging for new users trying to discover the full potential of the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent product, completely upleveled our approach to observability. Game changer"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

As a product Honeycomb is excellent, the ability to look across all of our data in such an efficient and useful way has been revolutionary for our approach to understanding our production systems.

The customer support has been exceptional, and we have a lot of confidence in the Honeycomb employees who have given us advice as well as the documentation which they make available to lead you into a successful implementation of OpenTelemetry.

This has become a tool I use daily and is my primary method for understanding the health of our systems Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

There is a bit of a learning curve to get your head around how to use it well. The team will guide you through it, but just because of the vast amounts of data that is exposed it took some time for us to get up to speed so we can always find the most useful thing. However, once up to speed the product is incredibly easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Dynamic Dashboards Awaiting Implementation"
4/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

I really like the dynamic dashboards in Honeycomb. They provide real-time in-the-moment context, which is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

I have concerns about the cost. I'm unsure if Honeycomb is free and what the pricing options are. We have a dashboard budget and I'd like to know if they offer a monthly plan with no long-term commitment. Also, I need help setting up, so I anticipate needing support during the initial implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A must tool for observability best practices!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Honeycomb?

Honeycomb is a great tool to monitor the health of our systems and alert us about any ongoing issues. The way we can visualize data in a simple and intuitive way using graphics and other average typed metrics, and add custom trace headers tailored to our project's needs, makes it an essential tool to have across all projects. Another crucial feature is the ability to set up alerts connecting with other tools like Slack, which makes it a crucial way to quickly react and fix any potential issues that might be impacting our customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honeycomb?

The only two points are the fact that we are not able to track payloads on Honeycomb, which limits some analytics for more specific cases, making us rely on other additional tools like logging apps and such. Also, the fact that we can only get 60 days of history can limit our monitoring as well, making the need to have tools in place to complement Honeycomb. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
